Men’s Cooking Program

MEN’S HEALTHY COOKING PROGRAM
A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. It protects you against many chronic diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Eating a variety of foods and consuming less salt, sugars and saturated and industriallyproduced trans-fats, are essential for healthy diet. Umoona Tjutagku Health Service understands the health issues and understanding about healthy food among the local Aboriginal men. Therefore, the Umoona Tjutagku Health Service Drug and Alcohol Centre, Sports and Physical activities team and Safety and Wellbeing team organise Men’s Healthy Cooking programs every Wednesday from 10.00 am – 12.00 pm in the activities centre. UTHS management and the local Aboriginal men are currently discussing about organising a men’s bush trip which will encourage the men to go out of the town a little bit and discuss about the future plans.
