Rain or Shine CHALK THE BLOCK Continues On
the city of el paso museums and cultural affairs department held its 11th annual chalk the block event in downtown el paso from oct. 12-14, drawing 45,000 people. despite the rainy weather on the first night of the three-day arts festival, attendees showed up to check out the installations, grab a bite from the food trucks and check out the exhibits inside the el paso museum of art. the arts festival featured live music and performances, art and food vendors, chalk art competition and interactive installations. around 200 local, national and international artists participated in the chalk art competition, mural paintings or installations. gaby VelaSqUez / the proSpector senior studio art major mariana ramirez works on her chalk piece at day two of chalk the block on Saturday, oct. 13.
