University of Utah Executive MBA APPLICATION CHECKLIST
COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS
Unofficial and official college transcripts are required from all institutions you received college credit, including any concurrent enrollment.

•After admission decision, send official transcripts to the University’s Office of Graduate Admissions by email to AdmissTranscripts@SA.Utah.edu or mailed to the Graduate Admissions Office:

Note: University of Utah graduates do not need to request official transcripts.
ESSAY
A one-page, single-spaced statement of purpose essay is required. The prompt can be found in the application.
Please avoid using bullet points. A second, optional essay may be submitted to provide insight into any piece of the application. Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 should complete this explanatory essay.
RESUME
A current resume is required. We encourage you to highlight your career progression and major achievements of both your professional and academic history.
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Submit a reference from your direct supervisor. The letter must acknowledge the time requirement and your employer’s willingness to support you in completing the program requirements. In addition, the letter should also address your strengths, weaknesses, personal character, and potential for success in the Executive MBA program.

GMAT/GRE
The GMAT/GRE is waived in most cases. Please see our GMAT/GRE section for further details on determining eligibility. A standardized exam may be required in some instances. You do not need to take the GMAT/GRE to apply.
Score Submission
Upon completing the GMAT/GRE, you can request your score to be sent to the University of Utah Executive MBA program. If you previously took the GMAT, you must ask for a duplicate copy to be sent.
Because there is a delay between your test date and when we receive your official score, you can send us a copy of the unofficial score report you receive the day you take the test. It can be scanned and emailed to EMBA@Utah.edu
INTERVIEW
Once your application is received, you will be contacted to schedule an interview. The interview helps assess your skills and motivation and allows for additional character insight as part of the admissions process.
APPLICATION FEE
There is an application fee when you submit your application. When you are ready to submit your application, you will be directed through a payment process. The application fee may be paid via credit card or check. If you pay by check, your application will not be reviewed until the payment is received.
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
English Proficiency
International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency by providing a TOEFL, Duolingo, or IEL TS score.
The Professional MBA program requires a minimum TOEFL score of 80 iBT, Duolingo score of 105, or an IELTS band score of 6.5. The University of Utah no longer accepts TOEFL paper- based test scores. Please contact International Graduate
International Degrees
International bachelor’s degrees must be issued by a Ministry of Education recognized international college or university. International Admissions officers will determine if applicants with international degrees meet the Graduate School’s requirement of a recognized bachelor’s degree.
