GMAT/GRE
Unofficial and official college transcripts are required from all institutions you received college credit, including any concurrent enrollment. • Upload unofficial transcripts to your online application
By submitting an admissions application that includes a GMAT/GRE test score, we are better equipped to complete our comprehensive review process and ensure the strongest cohort possible when making admissions decisions. Applicants have the option to apply with no test score.
• After admission decision, send official transcripts to the University’s Office of Graduate Admissions by email to AdmissTranscripts@SA.Utah.edu or by mail to the Graduate Admissions Office: 201 S. 1460 E. Room 250 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84112
Score Submission Upon completing the GMAT/GRE, you can request your score to be sent to the University of Utah MBA Online program. If you previously took the GMAT, you must ask for a duplicate copy to be sent.
Note: University of Utah graduates do not need to request official transcripts.
Because there is a delay between your test date and when we receive your official score, you can send us a copy of the unofficial score report you receive the day you take the test. It can be scanned and emailed to MBAOnline@Utah.edu.
ESSAY Please write a one-page, typed, single-spaced essay addressing the following topics: • Your motivation for applying • Why you are a strong candidate
INTERVIEW Once we receive your completed application, our office will contact you to set up an interview. Interviews may be conducted in person or via video conference.

APPLICATION FEE
Please avoid using bullet points. A second, optional essay may be submitted to provide insight into any piece of the application. Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 should complete this explanatory essay.
There is an application fee when you submit your application. When you are ready to submit your application, you will be directed through a payment process. The application fee may be paid via credit card or check. If you pay by check, your application will not be reviewed until the payment is received.
RESUME Your resume should show your career progression and how you contribute to your role. Please provide a chronological career history with dates, employers, responsibilities, and other pertinent information. Your resume should include education and additional certifications or licenses. We recommend listing international travel related to school, work, or place of residence. Please do not include vacation destinations.
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION We require two letters of recommendation from individuals well acquainted with your work performance, preferably a current or former supervisor. The recommender’s title or position is not as important as their ability to speak directly about your aptitudes and capabilities.
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS English Proficiency International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency by providing either a TOEFL or IELTS score. The Professional MBA program requires a minimum TOEFL score of 80 iBT or a minimum IELTS band score of 6.5. The University of Utah no longer accepts TOEFL paper-based test scores. Please contact International Graduate Student Admissions for more details. International Degrees International bachelor’s degrees must be issued by a Ministry of Education recognized international college or university. International Admissions officers will determine if applicants with international degrees meet the Graduate School’s requirement of a recognized bachelor’s degree.
