DEAN’S MESSAGE
Welcome to the 2024-2025 College of Education Scholarship and Donor Celebration Dinner!
I am so pleased to celebrate with you in person again this year. It is truly an honor to have your company for this special occasion. Tonight, we are privileged to bring together all donors to the College of Education, including those who have contributed to scholarships and our programs and members of the prestigious John R. Park Society, whose estates or wills include legacy gifts to the college. Thank you for taking the time to join us.
To our donors, I hope you know that your generosity profoundly impacts our students. This impact extends far beyond the classroom, rippling throughout the community and touching the lives of everyone they encounter. Your contributions give students a precious gift: time to fully dedicate themselves to their studies and passions. They evolve into key fgures in developing and fostering educational opportunities for K-12 and higher education students, including those who become leaders in mental health services in schools and the broader community. They will cultivate collaborations that enhance our community, and we will see this in action tonight when we hear from our inspiring student speakers.
Your contributions are the reason for their success, and I hope you feel as proud as I am of the diference you are making in their lives.
Let us take a moment to recognize the remarkable value of this year’s donor gifts. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $2,077,751 in philanthropic gifts from corporations, individuals, and foundations for scholarships, faculty support, and community programs.
With your support, we awarded 123 scholarships to 114 students, totaling $682,200—a 7% increase in the number of students supported and a 4% increase in scholarship dollars compared to last year!
Tonight, we also celebrate with our students. Your presence and dedication inspire us. You are the reason we are here, and your eforts make the future brighter for all of us. We celebrate your achievements and look forward to the impact you will continue to make in the world.
Thank you again for joining us. Your presence here tonight is a testament to the importance of our shared mission, and we are deeply grateful for your continued support. Your contributions are not just fnancial but a vote of confdence in our work and a commitment to the future of education. I hope our time together nurtures lasting connections and inspires us to further our collective impact.
Until next year, with warm regards,
Frankie Santos Laanan Dean
