Led by director Alvin Wardle, the Carbon band has accomplished much in the academic year of '54-'55.

From a dubious beginning in September when only twenty-five musicians answered the call, the band has more than doubled in size, now forming an aggregate of sixty aspiring (or perspiring) musicians.

Resigned to the inevitable pinnacle of being the only class "A" band in a district of class "B" and "C" schools, the band has performed its role of leader honorably, performing for the lesser schools of the region and striving for the highest plane possible in class "A" musical performance .

The mysterious room at the end of the hall is the home of the Pi Gamma Chi sorority. Its major function is to promote social activities for college girls.

Among the more successful regular events were the opening social. picnic rush party, s!umber party, tea, pledging and initiation. Special activities were monthly parties, harem girls for Save Carbon College program, Spring Fashion show, banquet.

IHIOM\JECOM\IING The Homecoming of 1954-55 was a glorious one. The activity for the day started with an assembly where the classes and clubs of Carbon participated. First place winner in the skits was the Freshman class. Nelda Forsythe and ' Joan Snow reigned as queen and princess.

Preceding the assembly was the parade with visiting bands parThe Freshman class also captured first place in all-around ticipating. float.

Other highlights of Homecoming were a mass pep rally, window displays, an alumni luncheon, a footba!l game and ending with a dance.
