The School of Music at The University of Southern Mississippi is pleased to present to you our 2013-14 Concert Series. We know that everyone will find a variety of performances to suit your tastes.
As I write this message we are continuing to progress in our recovery from the February tornado. So many of our patrons reached out to assist us in many different ways, and for that we are forever grateful. The restoration of two of our concert halls continues to be a slow process, and Marsh Auditorium and the Mannoni Performing Arts Center stages will be offline for another year. Many major ensemble performances will take place in Bennett Auditorium, but many other concerts will be held at various venues around our community again this year. Scheduling these venues takes time, so you will note that some venues are yet to be determined. We want to encourage you to regularly check our website at www.usm.edu/music to get the latest information concerning all our performances. We can assure you that it will have the most accurate information to be found. Partners for the Arts (PFTA) continues to provide essential funding for a variety of School of Music performances. Due to a recent reorganization of PFTA, your membership dollars will have an even greater impact on the performances we produce. Please visit www.usm.edu/pfta and become a “Friend of Music” to help support all our performances. We are looking forward to another exciting year of performances by our student ensembles, faculty artists and guest artists. We hope to see you at many of our over 250 events this coming year. Enjoy!
