USL inaugurates new campus

The Louisian community came together on December 30, 2022, for the blessing and inauguration ceremony of the University of Saint Louis’ new campus.

The new site, called the Bishop Constant Jurgens Campus (BCJC), is located in Brgy. Leonarda, Tuguegarao City, which houses the School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality (SABH).

A motorcade and ribbon-cutting activity commenced the event, which was followed by a mass in dedication of the

Saint Aloysius Chapel presided over by Most Rev. Ricardo L. Baccay, D.D., Archbishop of Tuguegarao.

In his homily, he underlined the newly built chapel as a constant reminder of an identity that traces the roots of God and does not isolate but is a church that reaches out.

Mrs. Luisa B. Aquino, USL’s Executive Assistant to the President for Institutional Development and Quality Assurance, is among those who will join this year’s ASEAN-Q TrainIQA course from November 27 to December 3, 2022.

Rev. Fr. Renillo H. Sta Ana, CICM, University President, remarked that the new academic building at BCJC provides all the amenities needed by students and employees. The building houses classrooms, laboratories, comfort rooms, offices, a clinic, a canteen, a library, and the Saint Aloysius Chapel, among other amenities.

Fr. Maniwang sits as USL’s 5th president

The University of Saint Louis recently inducted Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., as its fifth president in a Holy Eucharist and Solemn Investiture Ceremony held on January 7, 2023, at the Good Shepherd Chapel.

On November 3, 2023 a resolution was made by the USL Board of Trustees indicating that Fr. Maniwang was elected as the new president of the University. A eucharistic

Louisian life on campus just became even more special as the University of Saint Louis rang in the yuletide season with its ceremonial lighting of Christmas decorations.

Bright lights simultaneously illuminated the USL campus, accompanied by enthusiastic cheers and applause from the audience, during its annual festival of lights dubbed “2022 Family Night with the Light: Christ, Our Light,” held on November 18, 2022.

The lighting activity marks the start of the Christmas season and serves as a reminder that Jesus Christ is our light, shining upon us in every step of our journey through life, while also inspiring us to be lights to others and lead them to Christ.

Mr. Arvin Joshua M. Danao and Ms. Natalie Kate C. Ramirez, USL faculty, facilitated the event, with Rev. Fr. Renillo H. Sta. Ana, CICM, University President, leading the blessing ceremony with a liturgy.
