Reopening of the Disney Cultural Exchange Program

With great excitement, Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola administrators, faculty, and parents participated in a farewell event for 168 students who will begin exchange programs at Walt Disney World®, after two years of the pandemic.

On December 12, the students traveled to Orlando, Florida (United States). Of the total of 168 students, 161 will participate in the Disney Cultural Exchange Program and 7 in the Disney Culinary Program, which lasts a year and is geared toward students and graduates of the Culinary Arts and Innovation and Management in Gastronomy programs.

Our Grand Chancellor, Dr. Ramiro Salas Bravo, pointed out that USIL had been selected as the Peruvian university to send the most students to Disney World this year. Likewise, Michele Barton, director of International Relations, highlighted the fact that USIL is the only university outside the United States to send students to the Disney Culinary Program.

He also mentioned that, in 2023, the Disney Academic Exchange program would open in partnership with San Ignacio University and would last six months.

Silvia Huamán, former cast member in the program, had this recommendation to make: commented Alejandro Honores, graduate of the Innovation and Management in Gastronomy with an American Degree in Hospitality Management program who will be participating in the Disney Culinary Program.

Huamán is a student in the Art and Design with an American Degree in Marketing program who is going to Disney World for a third time.
