GOD IS IN MY SKIN (1,2,3)
Image Description:
“GOD IS IN MY SKIN is a series about vanity, race, our bodies, and divinity. I wanted to ask myself, what elements of our physicality are divine? I think the series is about themes of redemption in exercise, the dichotomy of divinity and flesh, and our cultural imagination that is increasingly fixated on skin color and racial issues. In so many ways, we treat ourselves as if God is in our skin.
Limbless, headless torsos float without agency yet demand veneration; their flesh comes in gold, teal, and green.”
