Silent Help is a new organization created by USF Sophomore, Haley Kieser. She sheds more light on this school project turned entrepreneur endeavor.

“We privately fundraise for people who have illnesses like cancer or maybe an accident and are paralyzed. A lot of people are kind of ashamed to ask for help and they don’t want the sympathy from people.”

Kieser was inspired to start this organization from a class centered around problem solving.

“It started in my entrepreneurial studies innovation to problem solving class and basically you just pick a problem and solve it.

I started with the problem that people don’t have somewhere to go to raise money without putting their name and their picture out there.”

What sets Silent Help apart from other organizations like it is its goal of raising proceeds for an anonymous inheritor.

“My first recipient is a mother of three who has been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time,” the recipient’s name is undisclosed to protect her privacy, Kieser said.

To raise the money, Kieser went with a traditional route.

“It’s not a one man job. I just need more people on board and to get the word out there. “

“To start I thought the best way would be T-shirts. So I’ve been selling T-shirts for ten dollars and it’s been pretty successful.”

Kieser is hoping to expand that fundraising by introducing new corporations as sponsors.

“I’m still heavily looking for sponsorships that aren’t so local.”

Kieser’s overall goal is to eventually make Silent Help a nonprofit organization. But first, she simply needs more outside assistance.

“It’s not a one man job. I just need more people on board and to get the word out there. “
