DOCTOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FOR WORKING PROFESSIONALS


PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

WHY THE USF DOCTOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION? The program provides senior-level executives with an opportunity to learn rigorous research techniques that can be applied to real world, multi-disciplinary problem-solving. Designed to be compatible with working professionals’ schedules, it offers executives: • • • • • • •

The opportunity to partner with world-class faculty researchers to examine relevant topics of interest. A network of top-level practicing executive classmates. A flexible program designed to be compatible with executives’ professional obligations. A publication-oriented approach that provides the basis for authoring papers, articles, case studies and other other publications, such as books. As a holder of the highest form of academic credential in the business field, graduates are competitive for part-time or full-time teaching positions at accredited, respected business schools nationwide. The ability to practice and consult as an expert in a given field. New career opportunities become available with doctorate-level education.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE • • • •

Three-year cohort program with small classes. Full, 72 credit hour doctoral program at a nationally respected research university and AACSB accredited business school. Meets on campus two days per month (Friday and Saturday) from August- December and February-June. Research is conducted on the complex issues facing your business.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS • • • • •

A minimum of 12 years of work experience. At least five years of senior managerial or executive experience. Some graduate coursework (Masters degree preferred). A statement of purpose. An interview with program faculty.

ABOUT THE FACULTY USF’s Muma College of Business boasts a world-class research-driven faculty recognized as leaders in a number of fields. The University of South Florida is among the nation’s top research universities. USF’s Muma College of Business is accredited by AACSB international. The Muma College of Business’ part-time MBA program was ranked No. 1 among Florida’s public universities by Bloomberg BusinessWeek in 2013. Campus is located near the award-winning Tampa International Airport, as well as several executive airports. There are a number of national and international hotel chains in the area, as well as resort living within short driving distance, such as Innisbrook, Saddlebrook, and TradeWinds.

PROGRAM COSTS

ALL INCLUSIVE TUITION (APPROXIMATELY $1,250/ CREDIT HOUR) • • • • •

Tuition and fees. Books and required course materials. Continental breakfast, snacks, and lunch during weekend sessions. A Windows Tablet PC and required software. Up to $6,000 for travel and research-related expenses associated with the program.
