Future concentrations will include Graphic Design and Ceramics USCB’s Studio Art curriculum is designed to prepare students for graduate programs and careers in the visual arts. The combination of an intensive liberal arts background and studio arts proficiency will provide students with the critical analytical skills and technical dexterity necessary to create original works of fine art. Situated in the heart of downtown Beaufort, our Studio Art program offers unique opportunities for students to interact with reputable local galleries, professional artists, and the greater art community that contributes to the cultural identity of Beaufort.

Professor Jonathon Goebel heads the studio art program at USCB. Since his arrival in 2007, he has facilitated the expansion of the university’s studio art facilities, added new visual arts disciplines, and created the new bachelor’s degree program in studio art. Professor Goebel is a nationally recognized, award-winning printmaking artist and serves on the executive board of the Southern Graphics Council.
