Golfers, Golf Course Superintendents, and Patrons are Invited to the RBC Greening Golf Workshop Experience Green Welcomes Environmental Programs Director from the Environmental Institute for Golf HILTON HEAD ISLAND (March 5, 2012) -- Experience Green will host “RBC Greening Golf,” featuring guest presenter, Greg Lyman, the Environmental Programs Director from the Environmental Institute of Golf, on March 19 and 20. Superintendents, golfers, and patrons are invited to Network Green 5:30-6:00pm, with the workshop taking place 6:00-7:30pm. The March 19 workshop will take place at the USCB Hilton Head Gateway Campus on hwy 278 in Bluffton, Hargray Building, Room 270, and again on March 20 at the Hilton Head Island Library. The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce and Sea Pines Resort are cosponsors of the event with RBC as the title sponsor. Admission is free with advanced registration. Golf is often the topic of considerable debate in the environmental community. The golf community and general public are invited to understand how golf can harmonize with nature, and how it can benefit our economy, ecology, and quality of life – the trifecta of sustainability. The workshop will raise awareness of how the golf industry, golfers, and patrons can support sustainability, present best management practice case studies by local superintendents, support greening efforts for the RBC Heritage, showcase green golf products and services, and introduce certification opportunities. Guest presenter, Greg Lyman, from the Environmental Institute for Golf has gained international respect for his work in enhancing golf’s relationship with the environment. Lyman works with golf industry stakeholders, scientists and environmental groups as an advocate of positive environmental progress for the golf industry. The Environmental Institute for Golf is the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
