Interested in Leadership? Announcing the Chancellor’s Fall 2012 BUNV 491: Leadership in Practice – USCB USCB Chancellor Jane Upshaw, in collaboration with Dr. Charles Spirrison, will offer a unique 1 credit hour course in Fall 2012. BUNV 491 Leadership in Practice – USCB will provide 12 USCB students with a special opportunity to interact with invited leaders and decision makers of varying backgrounds and areas of expertise (e.g., business, the community, military, politics, etc.) and the USCB Chancellor. The class is scheduled to meet in a conference room setting on Tuesdays from 2:00 – 2:55 in Fall 2012. There are no prerequisites. We seek a diverse group of talented students who represent a range of USCB degree programs; all majors are eligible. Enrollment is by invitation. Students interested in leadership and who enjoy class discussions are encouraged to apply for entry into the class. Those who will be Juniors or Seniors in Fall 2012 and who have GPAs of 3.4 or higher are especially urged to apply. Other students who exhibit outstanding attributes (esp., previous leadership experience) will receive consideration too. To apply, students should submit the following materials to Dr. Spirrison by e-mail (cspirrison@uscb.edu) no later than February 29th: a. a brief resume (include current GPA) b. names and contact information for two USCB faculty/staff references c. a 200 word answer to the essay question: "What do you bring to the table in a class taught by the Chancellor of USCB, featuring discussions with assorted leaders?” Early applications are encouraged. Applicants may be asked to participate in a brief interview. Faculty/staff references will be contacted via email or phone.
