Careers for English Majors! Thursday, October 6, 6:00pm HARG 270 Rachel Hoover, USCB's Director of Career Services (and a former English major), will lead an information and question/answer session about careers for English majors. Drs. Eby, Kilgore, and Hoffer will also be there to talk about our marketable skills, our internship program, and resources we have for students pondering the possibilities of the job market. While survey after survey of employers tells us that communication and critical thinking skills are the skills most in demand in the marketplace today, the very flexibility of the English major can leave students swimming in a sea of possibilities. Here is a chance to explore those possibilities, to get some answers, and to reflect on how you might position yourself for the future. Rachel will offer some expert advice about resumes, interviews, and how to present yourselves on the market, and she will be there to let you know what USCB's Office of Career Services can do for you. You don't need to be a senior to attend!!! The sooner you begin to think about your plans, the more we can do to help you. See you there! We’ll have pizza, too!
