On November 21st, at 6:00pm, the Okatie Elementary Chorus will be singing at the Angel Tree Lighting ceremony in front of the USCB Campus Center. After the ceremony, trees will be situated in the Hargray lobby on the Hilton Head Gateway Campus and in the Center for the Arts lobby on the Historic Beaufort campus. USCB students, faculty, and staff are welcome to pick the name of a child in need off of one of these trees, and gifts the child is wishing for will be noted. The gift(s) can then be wrapped with the tag from the tree affixed to the outside, and subsequently placed back under the tree. Another option is to make a cash donation of $1.00 or more and an ornament will be hung on the tree showing your support. All donations will be in support of CAPA (Child Abuse Prevention Association), “a local non-profit organization, incorporated in 1981. Funding comes from fee for service for the shelter, public grants, private grants, and local grass-roots fundraising. CAPA offers many different community and school-based education Outreach Programs focused on child abuse prevention and intervention. CAPA is a United Way Agency. For more information on CAPA please see: http://capabeaufort.org/.
