Online Statistical Reporting LOGGING ON TO PRESTO

The following sports need to be reported using Presto’s online platform.

STEP 1: Type in theuscaa.com/admin into your internet browser (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer,etc.).

STEP 2: Login using your designated email and password. Every institution will receive only one login to report statistics (typically it will be the athletic director’s email).

If you are unsure of what your username and password is please contact the USCAA National Office.

STEP 3: Click on the link “enter future schedules”.

STEP 4: Click on your respective sport and then click “schedule” tab if not already selected.

STEP 5: Click on the link “add event”. This will allow you to enter in each game you have scheduled for this upcoming season.

STEP 6: Click on the link “add event”. This will allow you to enter in each game you have scheduled for this upcoming season. Create a new event for each scheduled competition. *Only check the “Regional” box if the game was against another USCAA opponent; only check the “Conference” box if you are in the Yankee or PSUAC and are playing another Yankee or PSUAC opponent. Do not post exhibition, junior varsity ( JV), or club games on Presto. Please see the Forfeit Policy (pg. 2) for more information on reporting forfeits.

Online Statistical Reporting STAT REPORTING POLICY

Reporting of scores and statistics is a requirement as a member of the USCAA. Failure to properly report the first week will result in an email warning. Non-reporting in two-consecutive weeks will disqualify your team from postseason award recognition and championship consideration. Repeated non-compliance could lead to sanctions, as determined by the USCAA Board of Directors. All reporting notices will be sent via email to the institution’s athletic director and sports information director. The notices will be based off of content posted on the institution’s official schedule page on theuscaa.com The weekly reporting deadline is 12:00pm (EST) on Wednesday in a given week. If your team is in season, please make sure that at that time each week you’ve updated your scores/stats through the USCAA website. Teams are encouraged to upload scores/stats within 24 hours of the completion of a game. The USCAA National Office will announce the first week of reporting on the USCAA website and via press release at least two weeks prior to the first reporting date.

FORFEIT/JV, CLUB, AND PREP SCHOOL REPORTING POLICY The USCAA does not allow forfeited games to be reported as wins on a team’s official USCAA schedule. Those games also do not count for USCAA power rating points. Schools may file an appeal with the USCAA National Office if they believe circumstances dictate that a forfeit be considered. However, a forfeit should not be recorded without an approved appeal from the USCAA National Office.

To submit a forfeit appeal, a formal letter needs to be submitted to the USCAA National Office detailing the circumstances of the forfeit. The letter must be signed and dated by the member institution’s athletic director. A letter does not need to be submitted if a forfeit occurs due to an eligibility/rule violation, however documentation of the eligibility/rule violation must be submitted. In this instance the competition will count as a win/loss and must be reported through Presto.

Example: Institution A plays Institution B in a soccer match. Institution B plays an ineligible player. Institution A later receives notice that Institution B played an ineligible player and forwards the documentation to the USCAA National Office. Institution A would likely be awarded a forfeit win.

2014-15 marks the first year the USCAA will no longer recognize JV, club, or prep school games as a win/loss.

Online Statistical Reporting

NON UNITED STATES REPORTING POLICY Member institutions playing schools outside of the United States (Canada, Puerto Rico, etc) must have an NCAA RPI code in order for the competition(s) to count. To submit an appeal, a formal letter needs to be submitted to the USCAA National Office detailing the circumstances with info on the team played. The letter must be signed and dated by the member institution’s athletic director.

HOW TO REPORT STATISTICS Generally any program that can generate an XML file is compatible with the PrestoSports direct upload system. PrestoSports stats entry and Stat Crew are the only platforms that are 100% compatible in reports. Previously members have had success with Dakstats and Cybersports as well. For any questions regardling a specific software platform, please contact support@prestosports.com.

All scores and statistics need to be reported prior to the weekly reporting deadline.

Offline Statistical Reporting GOLF, CROSS COUNTRY, WRESTLING

Golf, cross country and wrestling reporting must be submitted via excel spreadsheet (two spreadsheets for each sport). These spreadsheets can be found linked under the ‘Schedules’ section of this handbook on page four (highlighted in red) or on theuscaa.com under ‘Forms’. The ‘Team Results’ spreadsheet must be submitted to kevin.wegman@theuscaa.com prior to the beginning of the season and on a weekly basis before each reporting deadline. The individual statistics spreadsheet needs to be submitted after the first reporting deadline. If no events took place during a particular week please contact Kevin Wegman with a brief email.

The first and last reporting deadline will be communicated to the membership via email. The reporting deadline is each Wednesday 12:00pm (EST). Failure to report for golf, cross country, and wrestling in two consecutive weeks will result in the removal of that sport team’s statistics from theuscaa.com and disqualification from Player of the Week honors.

GOLF REPORTING WORKSHEETS The Golf Schedule Reporting Worksheet contains predetermined headers (Row 4) that should NOT be changed. The columns ‘Conf ’ ‘DIV’ EXHIBIT?’ and ‘REGIONAL’ should also not be changed. Please input the appropriate information based on the examples in the template. This worksheet must be sent in every week with the ‘HOMESCORE’ tab updated with the results of the tournament. The ‘AWAY’ column should always be your institution. Instructions on what to put in each column are displayed in row 2 of the worksheet. Always save this worksheet as a CSV file.

The 2014 Golf Individual Statistics Worksheet contains three tabs. The first tab is for season stats, the second is for a boxscore of a one round event and the third is for a boxscore of a multi-round event. This spreadsheet should be complete with all necessary information each week prior to the Wednesday 12:00pm (EST) reporting deadline. The season stats should be cumulative. The worksheet can be saved as a normal Excel spreadsheet.

When submitting this spreadsheet please name it based on the name of your institution and the event that your golf team participated in.

The columns ‘Conf ’ ‘DIV’ EXHIBIT?’ and ‘REGIONAL’ should also not be changed. Please input the appropriate information based on the examples in the template. This worksheet must be sent in prior to the beginning of the season and every week with the ‘HOMESCORE’ tab updated with the results of the event/meet. The ‘AWAY’ column should always be your institution. Instructions on what to put in each column are displayed in row 2 of the worksheet. Always save this worksheet as a CSV file.

The 2014 Cross Country Individual Statistics Worksheet has two tabs, individual results and boxscore. This spreadsheet should be complete with all necessary information each week prior to the Wednesday 12:00pm (EST) reporting deadline.

If you have more than one meet in a single week please copy the boxscore tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet an input the appropriate information. The worksheet can be saved as a normal Excel spreadsheet.

Reporting Help GOOGLE TALK (DESKTOP) The USCAA National Office Staff would like to encourage all members to create a generic gmail account solely for the purpose of asking reporting questions. Rather than emailing questions to this account it will utilized for instant messaging using GoogleChat. Administrator of Sports Information and Media Relations, Kevin Wegman will be available to answer any questions a member may have about reporting. Kevin will be available to chat from 9:30am-5:00pm (EST) MondayFriday.

Reporting Procedures FAILURE TO REPORT

The first week of missed or incomplete reporting will result in an email warning from the USCAA National office. The second week of missed or incomplete reporting will result in a phone call in addition to an email warning. If the member institution has not reported properly after three weeks, that institution will be notified that they have been disqualified from championship consideration and loss of postseason awards (i.e All-American Honors).

These sanctions only apply to the sports of soccer, volleyball, football, basketball, baseball, and softball. For the sports of cross country, golf, and wrestling member institutions will no longer be considered for Player of the Week honors. Additionally, any previous statistics that may have been reported will be removed from theuscaa.com.

INCOMPLETE/INACCURATE REPORTING Instances of incomplete reporting will result in an email from the USCAA National Office to the institution stating what needs to be fixed. Some examples of incomplete reporting are shown below.

For any instances of incomplete reporting, the member institution will have approximately two weeks to fix the issue. If the issue is not fixed, the institution will be subject to the same punishments as if statistics were not reported at all.

Spring sport games that are played in the Fall will count toward the institution’s record and will be reflected in the first week of power rankings. NOMINATION PROCESS To access the awards platform enter theuscaa.com/awards or visit theuscaa.com and click ‘Player of the Week/All-Americans’ under the ‘FORMS’ tab.

The award system will then prompt you for an email address and password. Each member institution has one account to nominate student-athletes. If you do not know your login credentials please contact the USCAA National Office.

Once you login, you will be able to see all the available nomination categories. Click ‘nominate’ on the respective award you wish to submit. You will then choose your team from the drop down menu. If your team is not shown, please upload your roster into the backend of the USCAA website. From here you will see all of your players and their stats for that week. The stats shown are based off your reporting submissions. Click the select button on the left hand side corresponding to the player you wish to nominate. The USCAA National Office will only accept one nomination per category.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK The USCAA will close nominations during a given week on Tuesday. at 9:00am (EST). The reporting period includes stats accumulated Tuesday through Monday. Player of the Week award winners are announced on Tuesday. Seasonal start and end dates for Player of the Week awards will be communicated on the USCAA website, social media, and via email. ALL-AMERICAN To begin the All-American nomination process please follow the instructions under ‘Nomination Process’ (p.10). The All-American selection process includes the opportunity for members to vote on all nominations. At the conclusion of the nomination process coaches will be able to log back into the system where they will have the option to vote on the nominations for their sport.

After selecting the option to vote on an award, the user will see the name of each nominated player on the left hand side of the screen. To vote for a player users will need to drag that player’s name into the box on the right that corresponds to the level in which they are choosing to rank that player. The levels of voting are First-Team All-American, Second-Team AllAmerican, Honorable Mention All-American (notated in the system as Third-Team All-American) and unranked for players in which voters do not feel are deserving of All-American honors.

USCAA NATIONAL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM To begin the USCAA National All-Academic nomination process please follow the instructions under ‘Nomination Process’ (p.10). 2014-15 marks the first year the USCAA will be accepting USCAA National All-Academic nominations via the \ online awards platform. For authorized USCAA sports, nominations will be opened during the respective sport’s season.

Recipients of USCAA National All-Academic Team honors who are in attendance at the championship banquet will be awarded. All other student-athletes, and those awarded on the non-USCAA sport National All-Academic Team will receive their certificates through mail.

The USCAA will announce when nominations are opened and when they close via press release.

GUIDELINES •

All student-athletes with 24 or more credits on their USCAA transcripts shall be eligible for the National AllAcademic Team.

•

Overall (cumulative) grade point averages must be 3.50 (on a 4.00 point system) or greater.

•

NON-USCAA SPORT NATIONAL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM Non-USCAA Sport National All-Academic Team award nominations will occur during the same time frame as the USCAA National All-Academic Team and will also be accepted using the online awards platform. This award also falls under the same guidelines as the USCAA National All-Academic Team.

Awards

NEW AWARDS The following awards will be offered for the first time during the 2014-15 season. The description and selection process for the awards are noted below.

COACH OF THE YEAR This award will be for all USCAA sanctioned sports. One coach will be selected as the award recipient each year in each USCAA sport. Ballots will be distributed to schools toward the end of the sport season through the USCAA’s award platform (theuscaa.com/awards). Athletic Directors and coaches will be allowed to nominate, but only one nomination will be accepted per school. The award will be selected by a committee comprised of National Office members, board members, and member Athletic Directors.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR This award will be for all USCAA sanctioned sports. One player will be selected as the award recipient each year in each USCAA sport. The players considered would be the top five vote getters in the online All-American votes. After the final selection of All-Americans from the selection committee, an email vote will take place between those same committee members. They will be asked to rank the top five vote getters 1-5 and submit their vote to the National Office, who will then compile those votes and determine the Player of the Year.

STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR This award will be for all USCAA sanctioned sports. One player will be selected as the award recipient each year in each USCAA sport. The nomination process will take place through the USCAA award system, and schools will be allowed to nominate one player per sport. The emphasis of this award is going to be on academics and community involvement, versus athletic performance. The award winner will be selected by a committee comprised of National Office members, board members, and member Athletic Directors.
