2022 COVIDSafe Plan 1

Purpose University Ski Club owns and operates private member ski lodges at Mt Buller, Mt Hotham and Falls Creek. The Club provides accommodation services to its members, their families and guests primarily during the winter snow season.

All Victorian businesses are required to have a COVIDSafe Plan. This plan details how the Club manages a range of controls in addition to its normal operations to maintain the health and safety of its members and guests in the Club’s lodges during the 2022 snow season.

Illness Policy Members and guests staying in the lodge are at risk of spreading and acquiring infectious diseases. This is particularly important in winter when there are high rates of viral illnesses and the lodge is full, with close proximity of beds and the communal living environment.

USC encourages Members and guests to cancel or postpone their booking, or leave the lodge early if they become unwell with a viral illness.

If you have gastroenteritis or influenza-like symptoms such as: • fever • cough • sore throat • body aches • headache • chills • fatigue • needing to stay in bed • vomiting • diarrhoea please consider the health and safety of other lodge users and refrain from staying at USC. Help prevent the spread of colds, influenza and gastroenteritis in the lodge: Cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough Keep hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth Use tissues to blow your nose and throw them in the bin after use Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm running water for 30 seconds after using the toilet, blowing your nose, before eating and before preparing food.

COVID Safe Controls All Members and Guests must comply with the following if attending the lodge:

Vaccination: be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (over 12 years). Current requirements are at least two vaccinations.

•

RAT: unless exempt under Government regulations, have a negative RAT in the 24hrs prior to their arrival at any USC lodge (and take sufficient RAT tests to enable regular testing during your stay).

•

Maintain good personal hygiene: wash hands regularly and thoroughly with warm water or clean with hand sanitizer, cover mouth with tissue or elbow when coughing or sneezing.

•

Face Masks: wear a face mask if you have any COVID-19 symptoms and is strongly recommended: o

when using communal transport on mountain or attending indoor areas on mountain such as ticket office, cafes, bars, restaurants and while shopping; and

o

in the communal areas of the lodge during your stay, (except when eating and drinking).

•

Follow the Illness Policy: Go home or stay at home if you feel unwell. If you are coming out of COVID isolation as your trip starts, you MUST NOT attend the lodge if you are still symptomatic.

•

Cleaning: keep the lodge clean and tidy, particularly high touch surfaces. Follow instructions provided by Lodge Managers/Party Leaders regarding lodge cleaning and airing of rooms

•

Linen: provide and remove your own linen, including pillowslips, sheets and doona cover.

•

Social Distance: where possible.

Party Leaders The Party Leader should monitor the health of lodge occupants for mild colds, coughs, or any respiratory or other viral symptoms including but not limited to vomiting, diarrhoea, muscle aches, fever, headache, runny nose or sore throat. The Partly Leader should advise any unwell Members or Guests of the application of the Illness Policy.

In addition to being supported by the Lodge Manager, Bookings Officer and Committee, the Party Leader will be supported by the medical subcommittee who will provide advice if required.

Members, member affiliates, members’ children and guests who have concerns about the health of other lodge users are to first raise their concerns with the Party Leader. Should their concern/s remain unresolved, it can be escalated to the Bookings Officer, the medical subcommittee and Committee.

Testing Unless exempt under Government regulations, members and guests are required to have a negative RAT test before attending the Club and take sufficient RAT tests to enable regular testing during your stay.

5.1

Infection confirmed positive If a lodge occupant tests positive to COVID-19 please: •

Immediately report test result to Party Leader or Lodge Manager, preferably by text. If not by text, ensure you are wearing a mask before speaking to others.

•

Vacate the lodge as soon as possible. You must not isolate in the lodge or flat.

•

Prior to vacating, please clean your room and wipe down all hard surfaces with disinfectant wipes/spray and open the window in the room if possible.

5.2

Other Room Occupants of COVID positive case Unless exempt under Government regulations, all room occupants of a COVID positive case must take a RAT and confirm they are negative (and repeat daily for the remainder of their stay).

When entering or using communal spaces in the lodge, room occupants of COVID positive case must wear a face mask and minimise their use of communal spaces for at least the first 24 hours after the positive case is detected.

Prohibition on attending if isolating or symptomatic A Member or guest is not permitted to attend the lodge if they are subject to a self-isolation period.

Cancellations

6.1

Cancellation due to illness In accordance with the Illness Policy, it is important that no one attends the lodges when unwell to protect Members and guests and keep the lodges operational. Please cancel or postpone your booking or leave the lodge early if you become unwell with a viral illness including any of the symptoms set out in the Illness Policy.

A 90% refund will be given for your booking (or any unused nights) for genuine illness cancellations if: • the Bookings Officer is notified as soon as reasonably possible at the time of developing symptoms and prior to departure from the lodge; and • a medical certificate or evidence of a positive COVID-19 test is provided with the request for a refund.

The refund policy extends to all room occupants of COVID positive case if they elect to leave the lodge immediately.

6.2

Booking Cancellation due to COVID-19 The Club reserves the right to cancel any booking in order to comply with the regulations or requirements of any authority. A full refund will be provided if your booking is cancelled. For example, if restrictions change and the total number of people allowed in the lodge is reduced, some bookings may have to be cancelled. In these circumstances, where possible, the Club will allow Members to elect to cancel their booking. If there are insufficient elections, a "last in/first out" approach will be adopted.

6.3

Refund Process Refunds from cancellations made in the prescribed manner are refunded immediately using the same method as payment (bank transfer or credit card). There is no longer the option of holding a credit for future bookings.
