From our Congregational Leader Dear Friends, I’ll admit it. I’m a baby boomer, and when I speak of my grade school days down in Texas, you’ll know I mean the 1950s. So think back to those days with me (perhaps fast forward or rewind a bit). We did not use words like “environmental degradation” or “ecological awareness” in those days, but many of us experienced a basic grounding in the values that would later become core to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ social teaching on the environment. That document, Renewing the Earth, calls “us to examine how we use and share the goods of Earth, what we pass on to future generations, and how we live in harmony with God’s creation.” Raise your hand if, like me, you remember a childhood with: • Newspaper drives at school (yes, recycling even back then!) • Scrap metal drives (sometimes we even re-used toothpaste tubes) • Giving empty milk bottles back to the milk man (maybe a “city” thing?) • Collecting soda pop bottles for the penny refund • Re-using jars and boxes and paper bags and cardboard and string • Planting trees on Arbor Day and learning how “contour plowing” prevents erosion • Being reminded that “If you put it on your plate, you must eat it” – how awful it was to waste food • Perhaps even wearing hand-me-downs and washing diapers belongs here! Many of us grew up re-using, rescuing and recycling – in our families, in our schools, among youth groups and with our friends. Somewhere, somehow, we might have lost that focus for a while; we might have allowed those values to be sidetracked by the allure of “convenient packaging” and “efficient practices” that have contributed to a seeming acceptance of a throw-away society. But Saint Angela Merici was surely an environmentalist, reminding us frequently of the virtue of “respect” – for ourselves, for one another, for God’s creation. We Ursulines of Mount Saint Joseph follow the lead of our Mother Angela, recognizing how throughout our history we have embraced the values that led us to cherish one another, the land on which we live and the gifts we have received. Read how we find ways to reclaim our heritage as those who seek to renew Earth. Explore with us as we respond in hope to the call to “live in harmony with God’s creation.” Learn about how Casa Ursulina in Chile is welcoming summer as we in Kentucky embrace winter. And imagine keeping up with our not-reallyretired Sister Mary Irene Cecil as she continues to share her wisdom. As we watch the year come to a close and the northern hemisphere prepares for winter sleep, let us organize our recyclables, re-use those empty jars and share our sense of gratitude and awe for the gifts of one another and this beautiful world. Protecting the Earth is a way of life for the Ursuline Sisters

rsuline Sister Ann Patrice Cecil grew up on a farm in Daviess County, Ky., and was always fascinated with sunsets and watching plants grow. “I marveled at God’s creation,” she said. “My dad was a good steward of the land, a wonderful farm manager. Dad took care of the soil and left it in better condition than he found it. I hate to see the land abused or used in a careless way. We all need healthy air and water.” It was that attitude that prompted Sister Ann Patrice to become a trained water tester with Kentucky’s Watershed Watch and to join the local chapter of the Sierra Club. But Sister Ann Patrice is hardly unusual among the Ursuline community. “On every floor of every building at the Motherhouse, a sister is responsible for recycling,” Sister Sharon Sullivan said. She’s been testing water for nearly 30 years from local streams, and now as congregational leader for the Ursuline Sisters, she believes the sisters’ longtime passion for protecting the Earth stems from their role as educators. “The heart of the gospel message is recognition with all creation,” Sister Sharon said. “Creation is one way our creator communicates with us. We’re not simply stewards of the resources as if they are here to be consumed,” she said. “As educators, the best way to call others is to model behavior. Standing on the street corner and saying ‘you should recycle’ isn’t the same as doing it ourselves.”

Sisters in Action

The list of the Ursuline Sisters’ efforts to be good stewards of the Earth is lengthy. A working farm and the planting of trees have been staples of the community since its inception more than 100 years ago, but the sisters increased their focus in 1997 when they sought an environmental audit of the Motherhouse from Appalachia

“I would like to ask all those who have positions of responsibility in economic, political and social life, and all men and women of goodwill: let us be ‘protectors’ of creation, protectors of God’s plan inscribed in nature, protectors of one another and of the environment.” - Pope Francis at his Inauguration, March 19, 2013 – Science in the Public Interest, which works for healthy land and sustainable communities in Kentucky and Central Appalachia. That audit resulted in a 10-year plan that consisted of all major building renovations incorporating environment-friendly features such as double-paned windows, energy-saver lighting, low-flow toilets and showers. The Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center and Saint Joseph Villa, the community’s longterm care facility, both operate on geothermal heating and cooling systems. The 700-acre farm raises livestock, fruits and vegetables to feed the sisters and staff, and utilizes as few chemicals as possible, with no routine feeding of antibiotics or hormones to the animals. Cow and pig manure is used to fertilize the fields, which use no-till planting, conservation plowing and grass terraces for soil conservation. Grassy buffer zones are planted to prevent pollution of nearby creeks. Perhaps the most apparent way the Ursuline Sisters care for the Earth is by doing what they’ve always done best – teaching others. When Sister Amelia Stenger became director of the Retreat Center in 1997, she used her background with the Kentucky Agriculture in the Classroom program and as an educator who grew up on a farm to develop an environmental education program for schoolchildren in the area. Each year until she left the Center in 2010, an average of 500 children visited the Mount farm. “They learned about good stewardship of the land, visited the cows and pigs, helped pick some of the produce in the gardens and visited the beehive tree,” Sister Amelia said. “The children who visited the farm learned about God’s wonderful creation and all the good things Continued on page 4

that come from the land. I always enjoyed the letters the students would write to us telling us what they had learned about nature and good stewardship.” Educating the public about the environment is not limited to children. For several years beginning in 2007, the sisters hosted the GREENing Western Kentucky Expo at Brescia University. GREENing stood for “Getting Renewable Energy Education Now,” and the expo provided an opportunity for various business organizations to share products that offer solutions to protecting and preserving the environment. Under the umbrella of GREENing Western Kentucky were numerous programs at the Center, including “Save Money, Save Energy, Save God’s Earth,” a free program offered to churches of all faiths interested in learning more about being good stewards of God’s Earth and reducing their energy costs. The Center also hosted a Green Living Symposium in 2011. The sisters began a recycling program in 1997. “At first they were collecting newspapers, phone books and cans,” Sister Amelia said. “Now, with the help of the local recycling company, we recycle almost 25,000 pounds of paper, cardboard, galvanized cans, aluminum cans, glass and plastic each year. In addition to this, the maintenance department recycles all metals and light bulbs,” she said. “The farm manager sees that wood from downed trees is used in the maintenance shop stove and we all know when the barn is being cleaned out to fertilize the fields.” In June 2008, the Retreat Center was honored as Kentucky’s representative in the Sierra Club’s National Faith Appreciation Report, which highlights one exceptional faith-based environmental initiative from each of the 50 states. In 2011, the Ursuline Sisters were honored with the KY EXCEL Champion Award by the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection for their recycling efforts.

Partners in Protection

While serving as an employee with the Sierra Club in western Kentucky, Aloma Dew said she discovered working in partnership is better for everybody. “One of the earliest partnerships was with the Ursuline Sisters,” Dew said. “They believe in living lightly on the Earth. I’ve enjoyed the relationship with the Ursuline Sisters more than any other group. They were our role models when we approached other religious groups.” When Dew began with the Sierra Club, the efforts were mostly about clean water, she said. “It became apparent that justice was the most important issue. I worked with a lot of faith groups, but the Ursulines were the strongest,” she said. “If we’re going to save the Earth, it has to be part of your faith commitment. If God thought creation was good, maybe we should too.” Watershed Watch is a program supported by the Kentucky Division of Water since 2000, in which volunteers collect water samples from creeks and submit

What’s new at Casa Ursulina in Chile? By Sister Ruth Gehres

“From Casa Ursulina I have received so much: love, economic assistance, understanding . . . so that I forget my troubles and realize the good that is inside of me. Madre Mimi and the women who work with her have enormous hearts, and I give thanks to God for them.” – Nela Erizo CHILLAN, CHILE – Nela lives in a small adobe home built by her husband – a home that was severely damaged in the 2010 earthquake. With part of the house destroyed, things have been difficult for them, including their three boys, who have had to share a room with one bed. But now life is improving for this impoverished family. Through her participation in Casa Ursulina’s rural outreach program – begun six years ago by director Sister Mimi Ballard – Nela has become an excellent spinner. She has also learned to make charming felt figurines that portray life in rural Chile. Her work produces income to provide school clothes for her sons and, gradually, to rebuild her home. And, like so many other women of this region, the self-confidence she has gained as a member of the Casa Ursulina community has lifted her spirit, liberated her creativity and made her a happier person. During the past 16 years, Nela’s story has been repeated countless times by women who have entered into the ministry of Casa Ursulina: some who come for one or two years, and some, it seems, who are committed for life. Clarina Henríquez, now one of the mainstays of the Casa Ursulina ministry, begins her story like this: “When I 6

came to Casa Ursulina, I was a closed person.” Growing up in a large family with a physically abusive father and a mother with no way to escape, Clarina took refuge in silence. In 1996, just before the official beginning of Casa Ursulina, Clarina joined a nucleus of women who Clarina Henríquez gathered with Sister Mimi to share work, prayer and personal needs. “I never shared anything of myself or my life,” she remembers. “I was afraid I’d be laughed at and rejected.” Because she was talented in crochet, Sister Mimi chose Clarina to be the teacher of the first crochet class at Casa Ursulina. She also invited her to join a new class: Personal Development. It was a large group, she remembers. Like so many Chilean women, and their mothers before them, these women were used to keeping their troubles to themselves. But “Madre Mimi” gently and gradually led them into sharing their needs, their sufferings and even their dreams, with one another. “And I realized,” Clarina

says, “that I needed to talk . . . that I WANTED to talk.” Now she recognizes the women whose silence, like hers, is based in fear and a sense of worthlessness. Clarina is one of many Casa Ursulina veterans who can be counted on to reach out in support to these women. For the past 16 years, Casa Ursulina has been a leaven in this community, most of whose residents live at or below the poverty level. In 1997, Sister Mimi had already spent 20 years in Chile, most of that time in parish ministry among the poor of Chillán during a brutal dictatorship – a time when children begged in the streets for bread. As this era ended, she moved toward a new vision – a plan clearly focused on the needs of women – women struggling with poverty, single motherhood, unemployment, abuse, depression, low self-esteem and the absence of supportive companionship. Out of this vision grew the reality of The Dianna Ortiz Ursuline Center for Women, known throughout this community as Casa Ursulina. From a modest beginning in a tiny space, Casa Ursulina has expanded year by year. Now over 150 women enroll every year. They come for the courses that are offered – like sewing, weaving, crocheting, knitting and a variety of crafts. These are activities that develop the women’s skills and creativity. They can also produce income, either from sales in the immediate area, or from U.S. contacts made by Sisters Mimi and Ruth Gehres. Other courses, like painting, mosaic making, dance and music, encourage creativity and provide exercise and relief from stress. There is also an evening prayer group, a gathering of seven Ursuline Associates with others for reflection, sharing and prayer for the many needs of the world and of the Casa Ursulina community. “The No. 1 goal is spirituality,” Sister Mimi said. “The main thing we want to teach them is their value as a person. Every one of them is God’s child, they are equal. Our area has been oppressed. The people think they are inferior to everyone else. We want them to learn solidarity, to look for the common good, not just their own needs. Treat the next person as God’s child, as you would treat God.” Entering into the life of Casa Ursulina brings women out of isolation into an environment of solidarity, friendship and mutual support. And the leaders emerge from within: women who share their skills by teaching classes and helping the sisters to manage the work, which includes organizing events that provide support for the casa. All of these leaders – who form an active, dedicated Coordination Team – are volunteers. Their generosity is contagious. Through her skills as a teacher, Sister Mimi has formed an enthusiastic group of spinners and weavers ready to produce quality work for markets in the United

States. Casa Ursulina women are regularly contracted to create woven scarves and prayer shawls for sale by Abbey Press in St. Meinrad, Ind. And every year HandCrafting Justice – a nonprofit international trading organization that works with women in developing countries – orders shawls, scarves and decorative angels from Casa Ursulina. Casa Ursulina products are also available at the Mount Saint Joseph Gift Shop in Maple Mount. For more than a year now, Casa Ursulina has been engaged in a partnership with KidKnits, a family-run endeavor dedicated to helping poor families in developing countries and to inspiring American youth to help change lives around the world. When Steve and Kristin Zika first contacted Sisters Mimi and Ruth in April 2012, they were purchasing handspun wool yarn from a group of Rwandan widows whose lives had been devastated by the genocide in their country. Following an inspiration of their 9-year-old daughter, Ellie, the Zika family had formed a nonprofit business, marketing the Rwandan yarn and simple plastic looms to schools and other groups of young people. Already, thousands of children have enjoyed creating simple, bright-colored wool hats, while at the same time learning – from a service-based curriculum that is a vital part of the project – how this simple activity can bring a better life to vulnerable people all over the world. Ellie’s reflection, “You’re never too young to change a life on the other side of the world,” expresses the basic motivation of KidKnits. When their project took fire, the Zikas started looking for a second source of yarn. Through the Internet, they found Chile and Casa Ursulina. During the past 19 months, a team of 16 women have produced over 30 boxes of yarn for shipment to KidKnits in Peoria, Ill. The intense process – from cleaning the raw yarn through spinning and dyeing – requires skill and care. The members of the Casa Ursulina team have become experts. They are grateful to be part of the KidKnits mission and to earn a regular income to help support their families. Casa Ursulina owes its existence and its growth to the dedication of the Ursuline community, and to the vision and hard work of its founder, Sister Mimi Ballard, and the other Ursuline Sisters who have served in this ministry. The Casa Ursulina community is deeply grateful for the support of prayer and generous financial support that continues to make this endeavor possible. “All the good things that happen here,” Sister Mimi says, “come through the blessing of God and the dedication and generosity of our wonderful partners. A Spinning Retreat weekend brought 23 women to the Center Nov. 15-17. “We do a silent auction to raise money for sisters in Saint Joseph Villa,” Retreat Coordinator Debbie Webb said. “We bring our own stuff to donate. Over the past three retreats we’ve raised $1,500.”

Give Peace, Quiet and Prayer a Chance

Young people who are grieving a loss came to the Center on Nov. 2 for Camp Memory 2013. This is the third year for the camp, which is for children 6 to 16 who’ve experienced the loss of a loved one – a parent, grandparent or sibling. It is led by Betty Medley, grief continuing care coordinator with Glenn Family Services. Medley is a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy. From the director... Dear Friends of the Center, As I sit to write this letter the first cold of 2013-2014 has descended on Maple Mount. I am reminded that it is time to reflect on the waiting of Advent coming to an end, Christmas celebrations and beginning a new year. What does that mean for us here at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center? Sister Ann We will continue the study of the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults. The Spiritual Direction Training Program in the Spirit of Saint Angela Merici will continue throughout this year. We have many groups who are scheduled to come to the Center throughout the year. Some of them are new and some are returning. It is great to meet new people and to welcome those who come each year. As you think of your new year I invite you to put into your personal schedule some time to be away from the hustle and bustle of your daily life and come away for some quiet time. Private rooms are available. Daily Morning/ Evening Prayer and Eucharistic liturgy are available in the Motherhouse chapel. Father Thomas Keating tells us, “Silence is God’s first language.” We invite you to come away for some “God time” with us. We offer space to reflect, meditate, study or just rest and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us. Our chapel provides space in which to pray and be still in the presence of Jesus Christ. Deacons in training find a home at the Center When the first class of the Permanent Diaconate Program in the Diocese of Owensboro gathered for study, the program was housed at Christ the King Church in Madisonville, Ky. Parishioners were generous to accommodate the candidates with their wives, but it was a little inconvenient for both the class members and their host families. A solution was found this year by giving the next class a permanent home at the Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center. Each month, September through June, the 16 men registered in the program come for a weekend at the Mount to handle academic coursework and formation sessions, said Deacon Heriberto Rodriguez, diaconate program director. “This was a decision made by Father John Thomas when he was the director of the program,” Rodriguez said. “Having it at the Mount gives the men an opportunity to bond and know each other better.” Having the program at the Mount makes Rodriguez’s job much simpler, he said. “Having everything under the same roof makes everything easier for the men to concentrate on their education,” he said. “We are blessed to have our Permanent Diaconate Program at the Mount.” Saint Meinrad School of Theology runs the program, which has a year of discernment and four years of curriculum on Church teaching. Father Ray Goetz serves as director of formation for the diaconate program, which means he deals less with the academics and more with issues the deacons may deal with in a parish or at Mass, such as how to read the Breviary (used to celebrate the Liturgy of the Hours) or the ordo, which directs the order of the Mass. At the November gathering, he discussed the liturgical cycle. “I think the Mount is the perfect place for the program,” Father Goetz said. “In their free time they can walk around and hopefully get to know the sisters. It’s a spiritual place. You have the chance for Martha to take care of them so Mary can sit at the feet of Jesus.” Father Goetz is the chaplain at the Mount and also pastor of St. Alphonsus Parish just across the road. On Saturday nights during their stay at the Mount, the deacon candidates come across the road for Mass at St. Alphonsus. “It’s great for the parish to see these men in preparation,” he said. “I hope to get a deacon candidate from St. Alphonsus.” 10

Sister Cheryl’s 2014 Women’s Retreat to feature Saint Thérèse of Lisieux Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, “the Little Flower,” was one of the most popular saints of the 20th century and the third female Doctor of the Church. Her spirituality of “the Little Way” reminds Christians that holiness does not require extraordinary deeds, lofty theology or mystical phenomena. During the weekend of March 21-23, 2014, retreatants will reflect on and pray with Saint Thérèse by looking at her family life, her experience of Carmelite life and her experience of dying and the promise of eternity. Presentations, quiet time for prayer, small-group sharing and opportunities for confession and the Eucharist will give retreatants the opportunity to receive some of the “shower of roses” Thérèse promised to send upon the Earth to help people love God. Not Really Retired...

Sister Mary Irene keeps the sisters “in stitches” When Sister Mary Irene Cecil’s father died in 1969, her mother Irene moved to the Carmel Home retirement facility and took her sewing machine with her. “She put in hems for women’s dresses that were too long or sewed on buttons for the men’s shirts,” Sister Mary Irene said. “It dawned on me that I’m doing the same thing my mother did.” Since retiring in 2009 as co-director of pastoral care for the sisters in Saint Joseph Villa at the Motherhouse, Sister Mary Irene has served as seamstress for the sisters in the long-term care facility. “I sew up rips or hems that are coming out, or sew on buttons that have fallen off,” she said. “I sew their names in all their clothing because they put their clothes in the common laundry.” Sister Mary Irene is in her 67th year as an Ursuline Sister and enjoys this ministry, which she said she’ll do as long as she is able. “It’s my way of continuing to serve and it keeps me active,” she said. “I don’t sit here all day, I get up and walk around when I finish a garment. It also keeps me in touch with the sisters in the Villa.” Sister Mary Irene has a tough time choosing her favorite ministry among the various duties she’s performed over the years. “I loved teaching little kids,” she said, which she did for 21 years. “I also liked visiting the sick and elderly” at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Owensboro, Ky., which she did from 1996-2002. That ministry prepared her to co-direct the pastoral care at the Villa from 2002-2009. Sister Mary Irene also spent 13 years in community leadership, first as a Council member and then as superior from 1980-88. She doesn’t think it unusual that a former superior would now be sewing for the sisters, because all of her ministries have been an opportunity to serve God.

“Bishop (Emeritus John) McRaith would say he couldn’t get over the fact that one day we’d be superior of the community and the next we were just an ordinary sister,” Sister Mary Irene said. “It was fine with me.” She spends the mornings behind her Janome sewing machine, sharing a room in St. Ursula Hall with Sister Emerentia Wiesner, who sews craft items for the sisters to sell. “She does great work,” Sister Emerentia said. “When she broke her ankle and was out for six weeks, it was pretty lonely in here.” In her free time, Sister Mary Irene visits sisters in the Villa, walks the grounds on a nice day and prays. “I like this, it’s different every day,” she said. Leaving a Legacy... It wasn’t until she joined St. Joseph

Church in the mid-90s that Karen Siciliano of Springfield, Ill., met Ursuline Sisters for the first time. Karen explains, “The Ursuline charism touched me deeply from the very start. I was smitten by Saint Angela and couldn’t get enough of all things Ursuline.” Karen’s friendship with Sister Mary Ellen Backes at St. Joseph led her to the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph. “In 2004, Sister Mary Ellen invited me to attend Spiritual Direction Training at the Mount. I sensed the Holy Spirit at work in her invitation and submitted my application. Little did I know this would be the start of a wonderful new adventure! My relationship with the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph changed me forever. The Sisters helped me discover my true vocation and gave me the courage I needed to claim it. I am a far better, much richer person for having known and loved them. My bequest is my way of expressing my gratitude to the Sisters for all they have done for me. I pray they’re able to continue touching lives, as they have mine, for many years to come.”

In the joy of eternal life Sister Mary Renee Monaghan, 84, died Aug. 30 at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 65th year of religious life. She was born in Central City, Ky., the daughter of the late John and Mary Louise Monaghan. Sister Mary Renee was proud of her Irish heritage and loved to dance, play cards and tell jokes. Her favorite pastime was helping others, especially children with special needs. She was a teacher and principal in Kentucky and Missouri, and was a pastoral minister in Kentucky, Missouri and Indiana. Survivors include three sisters, Ann Boarman of Boonville, Ind., Sister June Monaghan, SCN, Nazareth, Ky., and Ursuline Sister Michael Ann Monaghan, Maple Mount; two brothers, Anthony and Donald Monaghan of Central City; nieces and nephews and the members of her religious community. The funeral Mass was Sept. 4 at Mount Saint Joseph, with burial in the convent cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, Owensboro, was in charge of arrangements. Sister Jean Gertrude Mudd, 92, died Oct. 13 at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 72nd year of religious life. She was a native of Fredericktown, Ky. An educator for 49 years, Sister Jean Gertrude was “little but mighty” and always encouraged her young students to learn. She began making beautiful quilts in 1996 and continued until her retirement. She taught at schools in Kentucky, Missouri and Nebraska, and served in health care at Mount Saint Joseph, 1980-84. Survivors include two sisters, Geneva Mudd, Springfield, Ky., and Gertrude Nally, Bardstown, Ky.; three brothers, Thomas Mudd and Joseph A. Mudd, Springfield, and Bernard Mudd, Bardstown; nieces and nephews, and the members of her religious community. The funeral Mass was Oct. 17 at Mount Saint Joseph, with burial in the convent cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, Owensboro, was in charge of arrangements. St. Michael Hall Construction Project... The demolition of St. Michael Hall (shown at left), the former Mount Saint Joseph Academy classroom building, began on Sept. 9 and was nearing completion as this magazine was sent to the printer near the end of November. Built in 1921, the building was no longer safe to occupy.

The construction project included putting a new roof on the gym, installing three trench drains and leveling the new parking area. There will be new electrical lights for the parking area, and trees and shrubs will be planted.

We rejoice in the gifts of our sisters, given for the kingdom of God Ursuline Sister Michele Morek has had a busy fall even away from her duties as coalition coordinator for UNANIMA International in New York City. On Sept. 16 she was one of 16 Catholic sisters from across the United States who gathered in Washington, D.C., to participate in the White House Summit “Taking Action to Eradicate Modern-Day Slavery: Convening for Civil Society Leaders.” The gathering was an effort to continue and strengthen the efforts to raise awareness of the crime of human trafficking, address the complex needs of survivors of both labor and sex trafficking, and advocate for more effective legislation to both increase available resources for victim needs and eradicate this crime. On Oct. 8, Sister Michele was the speaker on “Women: A Global Perspective,” at the Owensboro

campus of Western Kentucky University. The speech was sponsored by the Greater Owensboro Women’s Network. On Oct. 12, Sister Michele spoke to the Healthy Foods, Local Farms conference in Louisville about the global realities of food and water. Ursuline Sister Dianna Ortiz joined the board of UNANIMA International as the Ursuline representative, replacing Sister Suzanne Sims, whose term was completed. The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph are one of the founding members of UNANIMA, which advocates on behalf of poor women and children around the world. Sister Dianna is the associate director of Education for Justice at the Center for Concern in Washington, D.C.

The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph are hosting their first 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 31, 2014! This 5K “Fun Run” is open to walkers, runners, children and adults and will take place on the grounds of Mount Saint Joseph and the surrounding farmland. All proceeds from the event will support the mission of the Ursuline Sisters. This scenic route with the sisters is the perfect family outing so be sure to mark your calendar to get moving at the Mount!
