Spotlight on the Ursuline Art Scene Inscape Inscape, Ursuline’s award-winning fine arts annual, is edited and designed by students to showcase the powerful works of creative writing and visual art of the entire campus community. It’s a tradition dating back to 1945! The Florence O’Donnell Wasmer Art Gallery Nestled in the heart of Ursuline College, the Wasmer Art Gallery is a vibrant space where art, education, and inspiration come together. Featuring rotating exhibitions of student, alumni, and regional artists’ works, the gallery offers a chance to explore the artistic talents of the Ursuline community. Student Fashion Show Imagine your creations coming to life on the runway! At Ursuline College, our annual Student Fashion Show is where emerging designers like you get to shine. Whether you’re sketching your first designs, already sewing stunning pieces, or interested the behind-the-scenes production, this electrifying event gives fashion students the chance to showcase original work to peers, faculty, and guests. Music Lessons and Recitals Do you have a song in your heart that you want to share with the world? Students are encouraged to take music lessons in piano, guitar, or vocal arts for credit from one of the College’s esteemed faculty. Harness the healing power of art to prepare for an art therapy career. Art therapy is a mental health profession that uses art to promote wellness and facilitate change. We offer multiple career pathways and cutting-edge instruction, leading to pre-professional employment and graduate bridge programs for accelerated professional advancement in the licensed fields of Art Therapy, Counseling, Special Education, and K-12 Art Education. You’ll develop the competence and compassion needed to become an effective human service professional. Ursuline’s Undergraduate Art Therapy Program offers field placements opportunities with 100+ partner organizations, opportunities for international service-learning trips, and leadership opportunities in our art therapy student organization.

Bridge Programs to Advance Career Opportunities Our bridge programs allow undergraduate Art Therapy students to begin taking graduate-level courses while completing their bachelor’s degree. You will not only be able to complete your master’s program faster, you’ll also receive a lower tuition rate on graduate courses taken as an undergraduate student! Education 4+1 Bridge Prepare for a teaching career in Special Education or Art Education with an understanding of the unique social, emotional, and creative needs of youth. While pursuing your Art Therapy degree, you can take up to 15 credits of graduate education courses. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, students enter our one-year Master Apprenticeship Program to earn a Master of Arts in Education and qualify for teaching licensure in Ohio. Counseling & Art Therapy (CAT) Bridge Students may bridge from the Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy program into the Master of Arts in Counseling & Art Therapy program by completing all the requirements for the undergraduate major plus up to 28 CAT graduate credits. Some students may elect a 3+3 bridge, spending three years in the undergraduate program followed by three years in the graduate program. Potential Employers for Counseling & Art Therapy Graduates With a Master of Arts in Counseling & Art Therapy, you’ll be eligible for licensure as both an art therapist and clinical mental health counselor in a variety of clinical, educational, and human service institutions, such as: •

Fashion Design You’ll immerse yourself in the artistry and innovation of the fashion industry. From the first sketch to the final stitch, you’ll refine your creative abilities through hands-on exploration of illustration, patternmaking, sewing, drafting, and the sculptural beauty of draping. Your skill building will culminate in a final presentation of a designed collection at your Senior Collection Fashion Show. Our curriculum balances creativity with business and technology skills, ensuring your success beyond Ursuline. Our facilities include a 3D printer, Adobe Creative Cloud programs, and access to online fashion resources. You’ll also work with sewing, industrial sewing, cover stitch machines, multi-thread sergers, industry standard pattern drafting tables, and standard Wolf dress forms.
3+1 Bridge with Fashion Institute of Technology Students in Fashion Design may choose to spend their third year at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. Students who choose this track may apply for housing on campus after acceptance to FIT. Students will receive an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in addition to their Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design from Ursuline. At Ursuline College, we provide valuable connections with industry consultants and local professionals that can help you gain the experience you need to build a career in the fashion industry. Courses like Principles of Retailing, Product Development, and Merchandising & Buying provide students with a holistic understanding of finance, marketing, legal regulations, and industry trends. Many graduates of the Fashion Merchandising program go on to enroll in MBA programs, both at Ursuline and beyond.
