Just in Case The Name Wasn’t Enough Founded in February 2003, this Columbus, OH based company found its niche as the newspaper and media organization known for reporting on the positive aspects of the urban community. Urban Trendsetters News Magazine and Media (UTS), is a Multi-Cultural Outreach Specialist. UTS has gained a national reputation as a respected, integrated communications boutique representing the urban lifestyle.

UTS has expanded throughout the years to ensure that we have stayed relevant and continued to stay on the cutting edge of the hottest and newest trends in electronic and social media. In order to do so we have added several media properties to our suite including UTS Online our website that allows for up to the minute news and updates as well as access to our monthly publication online, UTS Radio Live, UTS TV Show- Un Plugged, CityView our Indoor Billboard and Digital Network, UTSEO-Online Marketing and SEO Services and UTS Media our advertising and outreach broker services.

WHAT WE DO? Reach the Diverse Urban Community

The unique opportunity for engaging African-American consumers lies in a company’s ability to make that consumer feel connected, respected and reflect them as a viable consumer of a product. While African Americans are voracious consumers of media such as television, radio and print, many companies assume that because there are no language barriers, there is no need to advertise to Black audiences through African-American media outlets. This Is a missed opportunity for companies, who can use such outlets to reach Black consumers in trusted environments where Blacks see themselves most often reflected. Consider the following facts on Blacks perceptions on advertising.

The average income for African-American households nationwide is $47,290 with 35% earning $50,000 or more. with an overall aggregate household income level of $695.6 billion, African-American continue to be viable consumers with a collective buying power estimated to reach $1.1 trillion in 2015. In addition, the Black population and its aggregate buying power is overall more geographically widespread and diverse than other ethnic or racial segments.

Companies seeking to connect with more affluent African-American will find, in certain market areas, there is a correlation between a large Black population and a large base of higher-earning Black households.
