Nadia Abou-Maarouf (Hooker, Nun, Bar Patron) is in 8th grade at Peirce Middle School. She has recently been in Legally Blonde, Annie, and Singing in the Rain. Thanks to everyone for helping to put this together!

Haylee Arabia (Sister Mary Martin of Tours) is a tenth grader at Rustin. Haylee has been studying and doing shows at Uptown Studio for 5 years. She is an Uptown Singer, takes classes and some fun roles she has performed were: Evie in Descendants and Florinda in Into the Woods. She is thrilled and thankful to be performing another amazing show with them!

Christian Barbezat (“Sweaty” Eddie) is a freshman from East High School who enjoys singing at Uptown Studio, being in Chamber Choir, Band and, playing piano. Recent roles include the Gambler (The Addams Family), Jack Kelly (Newsies), and Omar (Aladdin).

Olivia Callen (Nun, Bar Patron) is an 8th grader who has a passion for acting and singing. She has been in many local musicals including Shrek the Musical, Peter & the Starcatcher, Oklahoma!, and The Little Mermaid. In her spare time, she likes to travel and draw.

Addisyn Cooper (Tina, Nun, Fantasy Dancer) is a freshman at Garnet Vally HS where she was seen playing the Enchantress (Beauty and the Beast) and Patty Simcox (Grease). This is Addi’s second show with Uptown Studio. Her first was Little Red (Into the Woods), she is thrilled to be back at Uptown Studio and has enjoyed working with this amazing cast and crew!

Cydney Cosby (Deloris Van Cartier) is a 12th grader at Bishop Shanahan H.S. where she recently played Marty in Grease. She has studied and performed at Uptown Studio for 4 years. Her favorite roles at Uptown: Alice in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Octopus in The Rainbow Fish, New Dawn Show Choir in Dreamland, and last but not least The Witch in Into the Woods. She loves dance, gymnastics, singing, acting and baking!

Aayla Criado (Nun, Homeless Person, Fantasy Dancer) is an 8th grader at Peirce. She enjoys singing, dancing, acting, and playing soccer. This is her first show at Uptown Studio and she is so excited to be a part of the Sister Act cast!

Lauren Cusick (Mother Superior, Nun) is a sophomore at Garnet Valley, where she played Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Rizzo (Grease), and Reno Sweeney (Anything Goes). With Uptown Studio she has played The Bakers Wife (Into the Woods), Snyder (Dreamland) and Ryan (High School Musical) She can’t wait to do more productions in the future.

Morgan Flannery (Sister Mary Patrick, Nun) a Junior at DEHS, is thrilled to be back for another performance at Uptown Studio. Most recently, she portrayed Mrs. Peacock in DEHS’s production of “Clue”, and Patrick in Uptown Studio’s “SpongeBob” production. Other roles with Uptown Studio: Narrator/Mysterious Man in “Into the Woods”, Daryl Grady in “Curtains” and in the New Dawn Show Choir in “Dreamland”. Morgan thanks everyone in the cast/crew, and hopes that you enjoy the show!

Danielle Grisillo (Ernie, Nun, Homeless Person) is in 8th grade and has been studying and doing shows at Uptown Studio for more than 5 years. With Uptown Studio she has performed in: The Little Mermaid Jr, Aladdin Jr, Honk Jr, Freckleface Strawberry, Descendants and SpongeBob. At Stetson Middle School she has been seen in All Together Now, Seussical Jr, and Mary Poppins Jr. When not on stage she likes hanging out with friends and attending concerts.

John Kolb (Monsignor O’Hara) is a junior at Downingtown East High School and is ready to participate in his first musical at Uptown Studio. This summer he is excited to be playing Percy Jackson in Lightning Thief with Uptown Studio. He would like to thank his family and others!

Fiona Lambert (Nun, Fantasy Dancer) is a 7th grader at Peirce MS. This is her first production at Uptown Studio. At Peirce, Fiona has been in Annie and Singing in the Rain. Additionally, Fiona runs track, plays soccer and takes ballet.

Gabbie Lastrina (Michelle, Nun) is an eighth grader at Lionville Middle School. Recently she performed in Spongebob (Pearl), Little Mermaid Jr. (Atina) and Descendants (Queen Belle) at Uptown Studio, where she also studies acting. Gabbie thanks her vocal coach Monica Pica and her family for where she is today!

Ella Levasseur (Sister Mary Robert, Nun) is a freshman at Rustin High School. She has been studying and performing with Uptown Studio since she was 6 years old. Her favorite theatrical roles include Annie (Annie), Genie (Aladdin), Mayzie (Seussical), and Joanne (RENT).

Adam Makké (TJ) has been studying with Uptown Studio since he was 4 and is ecstatic to be in his 9th show here. Favorite credits include Caroline, or Change on Broadway, Grammy and Tony nominations. He studies voice with Kim Russell and wants to thank her for her guidance. He sends a big Thank you to the cast and crew for such a fun show!

Eleni Marcantonis (Mother Superior, Nun) is in 10th grade at Rustin where she was seen in Rent (Maureen). Eleni studies at Uptown Studio where she was seen in SpongeBob (Sandy), Into the Woods (Stepmother), Dreamland (New Dawn Show Choir), Freckleface Strawberry (Mother) and is an Uptown Singer. Offstage she enjoys singing and hanging with her friends.

Katerina Marcantonis (Nun, Waitress) is in 8 grade at Stetson where she played Mary (Mary Poppins). Katerina studies at Uptown Studio, in an Uptown Singer and has played: Squidward (SpongeBob), Ariel (The Little Mermaid Jr.), Strawberry (Freckleface Strawberry), Shelbie (Junie B. Jones), Samira (Aladdin Jr.), and Dot (Honk Jr.). When she isn't on stage acting, she loves to draw and go to the beach.

Phillip Matonis (Cop, Homeless Person, Altar Boy) is an 8th grader at Stetson Middle School where he performed in All Together Now, Seussical Jr and Mary Poppins Jr. At Uptown Studio he was seen in Descendants, Little Mermaid Jr. and SpongeBob Phillip sings in chorus/chorale and loves singing and dancing in musicals, acting and Improv!

Koen Messinger (Cop, Homeless Person, Altar Boy, Newscaster) is an 8th grader at Stetson where he performed in Mary Poppins, Seussical, and others. He studies acting and improv at Uptown Studio where he was seen in SpongeBob, Aladdin Jr., Descendants and The Little Mermaid Jr. Koen enjoys singing, listening to music, hanging out with friends, creating artwork, and studying fashion.

Charlotte Price (Nun, Homeless Person) is an 8th grader at Peirce Middle School who loves singing and acting. She is excited to perform in her 2nd show at Uptown Studio. Previous shows include A Mixed Up Fairytale (Cinderella), Singing in the Rain (Zelda), SpongeBob (ensemble) and Annie (orphan). She is thankful for the support of her coach, Monica, and her family.

Rourke Sante (Sister Mary Lazarus, Nun, Deloris u/s) is a sophomore at Henderson and is thrilled to be a part of this fabulous show! You may have seen her as Jack’s Mom (Into the Woods), Snail (Year with Frog and Toad), Mal (Descendants) and performing with the Uptown Singers! Rourke enjoys playing rugby for West Chester Wolfpack Girls Rugby. She wants to thank the cast and crew! Break a leg everyone!

Clarissa Spinelli (Sister Mary Lazarus, Nun) is a 10th grader at Rustin High School. At Rustin she is also a proud member of the Thespian Honors Society and Tri-M Music Society. Her studies at Uptown Studio have included Singing Artist, Glee Week, Summer Stock Teens and voice with Cathy Ogden. She is excited to make her Uptown Studio debut!

Nikela/Nik Steinborn (Sister Mary Theresa, Drag Queen, Cab Driver) is a 9th grader at Henderson where she was in Hello Dolly. Other shows include: The Addams Family (Mal), Annie (Oliver Warbucks), Mean Girls, Elf, and with Uptown Studio Nik was seen in SpongeBob (Plankton), Descendants, acting and improv classes. Nik is Monica Pica's vocal and acting student. Enjoy the show!

Ty Thomas (Curtis) is an 11th grader at PALCS CPFA. Credits include Amelie (Dufayel), Into the Woods (Baker), Rainbow Fish (Starfish), Descendants (Ben), Dreamland (Elliot), 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Barfee), Ruby: The Ruby Bridges Story (Michael Bridges & Leona). Ty would like to thank his incredible moms and teachers, especially Aunt Monica, and Miss Therese.

Ray Yang (Joey) is a freshman at Downingtown STEM who is thrilled to be in his first show at Uptown Studio, where he studies acting. He would like to thank his friends, family, and voice teacher, Catherine K. Brown, for their support.

Sydney Scherrer (Sister Mary Robert, Nun) is a Junior at Henderson HS and has been performing with Uptown Studio for 11 years. Singing has been a huge part of her life and she can't wait to share her love of playing Sister Mary Robert with you! Some of her favorite roles include: Puck (Dreamland), Little Red (Into the Woods), and Charlie (Willy Wonka). Sydney would like to thank her family, cast members, and Therese for everything she has taught her. See you in Sunday Mass!

Aidan Simpkiss (Pablo) is a 10th grader at Garnet Valley High School and this is his first show at Uptown Studio. Some of his favorite roles have been Gomez Addams (Addams Family) and Lord Evelynn Oakleigh (Anything Goes). Aidan has loved getting to work with everyone in this production and had so much fun putting it together.

Karlee Welgoss (Nun, Bartender) is a 10th grader who enjoys performing. At Uptown Studio she studies acting and singing and was seen in Dreamland (Colonel Rasmusson) and Descendants (Grimhilde). Karlee has been performing since a young age and at the age of 7, Karlee performed with Kenny Rogers at his Holiday concert in Valley Forge, PA.

Natalie Wilmes (Sister Mary Patrick, Nun): is a junior at Henderson high school. This is her third show at Uptown Studio! With Uptown Studio, Natalie has been seen as Jack’s Mom in Into the Woods, Melissa Simms in Dreamland and she studies acting.

Mary Kate Zaffarese (Hooker, Nun, Fantasy Dancer) is a junior at Notre Dame. Recent roles include The Fairy Godmother (Cinderella Jr), Belle (Beauty and the Beast) and with Uptown Studio: Rapunzel (Into the Woods). Mary Kate has student directed Seussical Jr and Matilda Jr. She volunteers at Sunday pre-school and sings in church and nursing homes. In her free time, Mary Kate loves to read.

Therese Walden-Murphy (Director) Therese is the Director of Education at Uptown and the founding director of WCStudio at Uptown. Therese is a professional actress who has performed in NYC, LA and regional theaters across the country and internationally. She holds an MFA in classical theatre from the Old Globe Theatre Professional Actor Training Program and has been seen and heard in Voice-Overs, TV, Industrials, Film and on Stage. Therese joined the closing cast of the 1997 Broadway Company of ANNIE as Martin Charnin’s Assistant Director and continued on with the National Tour. Therese received a Best Actress Dramalogue Award for her work as Grace in ANNIE and was nominated for a Best Actress Robby Award for her work as Fiona in BRIGADOON, both while working in LA. In addition to performing, Therese has directed over 25 productions for WCStudio and Uptown Studio and enjoys designing costumes and props. She is most passionate, however, working with young people in finding their voice and learning to put it out into the world. Therese is a proud member of AEA, SAG/AFTRA.

Scott Anthony (Music Director) A familiar face at Uptown, Scott began piano lessons at age 4, sang in a choir at Carnegie Hall as a youth, and has continued his passion for music ever since. Scott studied organ and piano at Peabody Conservatory, then transferred to Catholic University to study piano with Emmyaward recipient Marilyn Neeley. Scott also earned his Master’s degree in Piano Performance from Temple as a student of Harvey Wedeen. He then studied jazz piano with Philadelphia local Andy Kahn. He was Music Director at Media Theatre for the 2013-2014 season. He is currently a freelance pianist, accompanist and teacher based in the West Chester area. Outside of Uptown, Scott music directs shows for the Malvern Theater Society, and serves as Music Director at Cresheim Valley Church in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia. Scott enjoys gardening and spending time with his new son & 2-year-old daughter, and two Siberian cats.

Gina Veith (Choreographer)

Cathy Ogden (Additional Choreography) is passionate about teaching students in acting, improv and dance at Uptown Studio. Cathy had an over 17 year career in professional musical theater. Some highlights include: National tour as Maria (Sound of Music); Regional Nancy (Oliver), Mother (Ragtime), The Witch (Into the Woods) & Diana (Next to Normal). She performed on Broadway in Street Corner Symphony, a review of 60s & 70s soul and pop music. She is trained in ballet, contemporary, and jazz dance. Cathy is having a blast working with this fabulous, fun, and talented cast and crew!

Michelle Eugene (Stage Manager) is an actor, singer, performance coach, voice therapist, director, and teacher; MFA in Classical Acting at the Shakespeare Theatre’s Academy for Classical Acting at GWU; member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA; Acting Coach and Teacher for the Willson Vocal Academy; Teaching Artist at Uptown. Direction: Cendrillon (Westminster Opera Theatre), The Hermit Songs & Suor Angelica (Westminster Opera Theatre) Michelle has performed onstage appearing with companies at the Wilma, Mauckingbird, Act 2 Playhouse, Cape May Stage, Rep Stage, Peterborough Players, and the Metropolitan Playhouse, among others. Favorite roles include Brooke (Other Desert Cities), Ruth (Blithe Spirit), and Elizabeth Proctor (The Crucible). Michelle considers herself a lifelong student and feels privileged to be able to share her love of craft and artistry with others.

Aileen McCulloch (Costume Designer) ran The Vagabond Acting Troupe for 25 years until merging it with The Steel River Playhouse (SRP) in 2018. She was at SRP for over four years as Education Director while also at The Baldwin School as MS/HS drama teacher till 2019. On the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Independence Awards since 2019, she trains adjudicators in giving constructive feedback to students and heads up the Give a Musical committee providing funds to under-resourced High School musical theater programs. She was honored for her service at last year's PIA awards. She is also Managing Artistic Director of The Arts Bubble 19464, providing Pottstown area students with free theatre and arts opportunities. She spent nine years as a teaching artist at Philadelphia Young Playwrights Festival and headed up the New Visions project and has written over a dozen original plays and musicals that have been produced regionally. She works regularly in temp theatre related positions at West Chester University, The Center for Performing and Fine Arts at Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School, Reading Theatre Project and WC Studio at Uptown. This year she was also a "new play" respondent for the KCACTF. She was named Outstanding Humanitarian of the week by Y-102 radio for her efforts bringing theatre arts educational opportunities to underserved communities and is proud to have lead Vagabond Acting Troupe in garnering Barrymore Nominations and Awards for outstanding ensemble and community collaborations, PHL17-Hotlist top honors for work with youth, and many acting/directing/design accolades. She earned an MA in theatre from Villanova University and a BA in theatre from Mary Washington University and has studied with Delle Arte. Up next, Aileen is directing The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals with The Arts Bubble at Cosmic Arts Studio and teaching theatre at the Yocum Institute in July. Love to her family, the greatest production of all.

Becs Smith (Lighting Designer) is a Maryland native, and a West Chester/Philly based artist. Throughout their career he has worked for various styles and sizes of shows including Theatre, Dance, Corporate, and Concert Design and Direction. After graduating from West Chester University in 2021 they have worked with QVC, Longwood Gardens, Carnival of Ruin, West Chester Studio, Kun Yang Lin Dance Group, Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center, and Windish Music Group. Smith has been working with the Uptown Studio education program for over two years and is excited to continue their work of student based theatre.

George Koenig (Sound Designer) is a Philadelphia based Sound Designer and Audio Engineer. He has been at the Knauer Performing Arts Center as an A1/A2 Audio Tech since June of 2022. Finding Nemo is his latest production as Sound Designer and Board Operator for Uptown Studio, after the January 2024 production of A Year With Frog And Toad. While not working at the theater, George enjoys playing tennis, hiking trails at the Wissahickon, and exercising at the gym. He would like to thank Josh, Becs, Therese, Heidi, and the wonderful cast of performers for their support and efforts.

Arden Messinger (Assistant Stage Manager) is in 11th grade at Rustin. This is their first Uptown show and their first time being backstage instead of on stage. They enjoy all kinds of creative endeavors, including acting, singing, writing, and playing the clarinet and saxophone.

Cali Sousa (Assistant Stage Manager) is in the 8th grade at Stetson Middle School. This is her first show as an assistant stage manager, but she has performed in several shows at Uptown, including The Little Mermaid, Sponge Bob, and The Descendants.

Rock N’ Roar Dinosaur Show

Come along for a rocking dino adventure with Diggery and save the human race.

The show has incredible props including large interactive animated characters, dinosaur bones, a giant dinosaur egg and beautiful puppets. Audience members constantly interact with the animated dinosaurs, scan with the DinoSauroScope 3000, help solve puzzles and dance. Only you can help stop the dinosaur invasion and save the world!
