Greetings, UPrep What a year! We’re so grateful for all the support shared by you— our donors, families, and friends. We’re excited to share our annual Impact Report. Inside, you’ll find stories about our community’s successes, programs students can access, and some of the ways we’ve grown— all thanks to you.

In fact, enrollment has grown by more than 25 percent since 2018 when the ULab’s impact was first imagined. Watching students step into the new building for the first time felt like seeing the future arrive. We called upon everyone to join us in supporting the ULab Capital Campaign, and together we surpassed the $20 million mark—a goal nearly eight years in the making.

Your participation in the Puma Fund allowed UPrep to enhance our academic offerings, expand our co-curricular programs, and support our exceptional faculty. Highlights include 441 students engaged in our Global and Outdoor Programs and an impressive 75 percent of our students participating on one of 54 athletics teams. We introduced new courses, including Microbiology, Outdoor Leadership: Snow School, and an Electronic Music intensive. Our student musicians brought home eight awards from

Community the Western Washington University Orchestra Festival, and our Middle School and Upper School VEX Robotics Teams attended seven competitions.

Reflecting on these accomplishments reminds me that, at UPrep, students are empowered to take risks that lead to genuine growth. Every day, I see a Post-it on my desk with a Brené Brown quote: “being a knower and being right vs. being a learner and getting it right.” In our community, we take pride in our challenging academic program, while recognizing that opportunity and exploration are equally vital ingredients that enrich our students’ educational journey. Leading a life of learning is more than our tagline: It’s what your generosity enables.

Every year, we invite the entire UPrep community to participate in the Puma Fund, our annual fundraising effort that supports all co-curricular activities for students. Did you know this fund also supplements financial aid packages, helping to make UPrep accessible?

This year, we asked our community to stretch as we welcomed more students, and you did.

This year’s Puma Fund goal was $1.1M, and our total raised was $1,188,851. Thank you!

Renderings to Reality,

the ULab CELEBRATING THE FUTURE AT UPREP TOGETHER On March 16, nearly 300 people came to Fremont Studios for UPrep Together, our annual spring fundraiser and community celebration. This year, in addition to celebrating community, we invited support for the ULab Capital Campaign. Through the event, we raised $878,500!

This total included two generous matches, a $260,000 matching challenge from alumni families, plus a $30,000 matching challenge for new families.

Student Life is Thriving in the ULab The ULab, now a reality, facilitates growth to our enrollment, which is up 25 percent since 2018.

ULAB CAPITAL CAMPAIGN TOTAL AS OF JUNE 30,2024: $20,795,141!

Thanks, in part, to UPrep Together, we crossed the $20 million fundraising milestone for the ULab in April. UPrep also received a generous unrestricted bequest for $1.2M, which will be directed to the ULab Capital Campaign.

This comes after a decade of planning, months of construction, and years of quiet conversations about supporting the idea of an interdisciplinary, state-of-the-art Upper School building.

Endowment The UPrep endowment allows UPrep to adapt to the ever-changing needs of our students while maintaining a reliable, ongoing stream of income. Our endowment is made up of 26 separate funds and, as of June 30, 2024, the combined balance was $21,069,356.

Together, these endowed funds provided more than $539,618 last year, most of which directly supported financial aid. This year, the board voted to establish a $5M board-designated endowment, increasing the endowment balance by 30 percent, providing further future support for the programs of the school.
