Rock and Water decreases bullying and depressive feelings, and increases selfesteem, self-regulation and social acceptance. COMMUNITY VISITORS SCHEME TOWNSVILLE - Recruiting Volunteers NOW The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is a national program funded by the Australian Government. The CVS aims to enrich the quality of life of residents of aged care homes who are socially isolated or lonely, and would benefit from a friendly visitor. Due to the social distancing measures for COVID-19 our volunteers are unable to visit their residents at this time however we know that when the social distancing measures are lifted there will be many residents of aged care facilities that will be in need of social interaction and would benefit from having a CVS volunteer visit. During this period we are working hard to build up our wonderful team of volunteers so that we will be ready to recommence the visits when the social restrictions are lifted. If you can spare an hour each fortnight and would like to visit an elderly resident of a local aged care home in Townsville please call our Upper Ross Centre on 4774 0144. or Garbutt Centre on 4779 7268.

SKILLING QUEENSLANDER FOR WORK
INDIVIDUALS FUND FOR ARTISTS, ARTS WORKERS
Since the Palaszczuk government reintroduced the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative in 2015 we have supported over 55,000 Queenslanders transition to work!
Applications are now open for the Individuals Fund, providing financial support for Queensland-based artists and art workers to gain professional and career development opportunities. For more information visit: www.qld.gov.au/recreation/arts/ funding/individuals/fund.
Skilling Queenslanders for Work funds training and support for unemployed or underemployed people, with a focus on young people (including those in and transitioned from out-of-home care), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, mature-age jobseekers, women re-entering the workforce, veterans and ex-service personnel, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. If you are aged 15 or older, no longer at school and need help to secure a job, Skilling Queenslanders for Work training projects will help you gain the skills, qualifications and experience you need to enter or to stay in the workforce.
