Cooper Landing Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center
Greetings Neighbors and Chamber Members, Winter is starting to show her face early this year making us hustle to get ready for shoveling, plowing and winter sports. We have been experiencing some major power outages this year. Gary Steele from Moose Pass had addressed this with the Chugach Board with the response to him that at their board meeting they would discuss a community meeting with local citizens. I am going to bring up this topic at our next Chamber meeting to have a special meeting with the Chugach Electric Board with our concerns. The Chamber is planning a Fall Mixer at Sunrise on October 21, 2021 for our members 4:30-6:30. This is tentative as with all gatherings due to covid and might be altered. If you wish to join the Chamber please let one of the board members know so we can arrange membership and your attendance. We are sending out membership billings, with categories, and for your advertisements in the Upper Kenai River Guide. These billings are going to be late getting to you, due to illness, so we would appreciate your quick response with your payments and any updates. The call is going out for Chamber Board members. We have three Board Members who wish to retire. We have graciously had two of our members step up to run for the board Shaun Sehl from Prospector John’s and Kindra Leaders from Grizzly Ridge is another possibility. Please let one of us know if you are interested in serving on the board. Our contact numbers are listed to the right. This winter season, lets light up the community. The Chamber is putting together a Cooper Landing in Lights project to brighten the town for the weary traveler and to boost the spirits of our community. Please look at ways to lighten up your business or homes. As we develop the program, we will come up with themes, or prizes. We are open to suggestions from all community members. (With the hope that Chugach keeps the lights on).
