The courses offered at UPPC have made me challenge myself and others about what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Over the past couple years, I’ve taken Essentials, Alpha, Equipping, Rooted and Flourishing. I’ve embraced the five core values of UPPC that are taught in Essentials; we are in this together, make room, love kids, create, and embrace messiness. I still fall short in my walk with Christ.
Alpha is a course I’ve taken several times, both online and in-person. I recommend in-person to receive the full impact of the fellowship and good meals. Alpha is structured around nonbelievers, and struggling believers alike. It focuses on the individual relationship between Jesus and the disciple.

Equipping is a shorter course that equips you with the basic tools. It also goes into detail about how and why Christians pray, and helps interpret the word of God.
Rooted offers a deeper dive into the seven rhythms of Christ. The seven rhythms are daily devotion, prayer, repentance, sacrificial generosity, serving the community, sharing and worship.
Flourishing is a course that encourages service and shares opportunities and resources to serve in the community.
All these courses have a common theme focused around being local, spontaneous, intentional, and tangible. -Karl Sachs
