how the sisters exemplified unwavering determination, overcoming obstacles with resilience and perseverance. Much like how we persisted in the face of the COVID19 pandemic, we were able to prove once again that we can adapt to the continuously changing times. While navigating the complexities of the transition was challenging, it allowed us to draw strength in our diversity, and ultimately strengthen our bond as sisters.
In our 78th year, we continued our tradition of excellence in all things.
As I conclude my term as the captain of the ship, I would like to take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude for everyone who was with me on this journey

Growth

For 78 years, our sorority has been grounded in our goals of academic excellence, leadership, and sisterhood. As we near another milestone year, it is of great importance not only to continuously pursue our sorority’s goals but also to anchor our ship in growth and service
This past academic year, we witnessed our Deltan sisters shine in their academic, professional, and extra-curricular pursuits. Several residents held leadership positions in student councils and organizations such as the UP Law Student Government, UP Women in Law, and the UP Law Debate and Moot Court Union. Sisters consistently achieved academic accolades as University and College Scholars and as members of the Order of the Purple Feather.

Warm greetings and best wishes to all Deltans! It is with pride and gratitude that we celebrate our Sorority's 78th anniversary. It is a time not just to reminisce but to reflect on the profound impact of Sisterhood in our lives
I warmly welcome the graduating Sisters into the UP Delta Lambda Sigma Alumnae Association I extend my congratulations to the outgoing officers led by Past Grand Archon Donna Garcia on a job well done. I wish the incoming officers, led by Grand Archon Kat Estrella, all the best as they begin their term.
For almost eight decades, our Sorority has been a shining example of academic excellence, Sisterhood, leadership, and dedication to serve our nation and beyond while embracing the timeless principles of grace and strength These pillars have led our Sorority, allowing each Deltan to develop, prosper, and lead purposefully
As we celebrate, we honor the 33 pioneering women who established the foundation for the Sorority's heritage and have enabled generations of women to flourish, grow, and make a difference. Their elegance in leadership and resilience in the face of adversity continue to inspire us to keep the Sorority's core ideals. Our Sorority's history has been woven into a rich tapestry with each Deltan's unique experiences, ideas, and goals, providing individual colors and textures that strengthen us.
I know that the Sorority has profoundly influenced our lives; it definitely has impacted mine. From the moment I was introduced to the Sisters to seeing Deltans hone their talents, skills, and expertise, making valuable contributions to society through the years, our Sorority is genuinely one of a kind, and the Sisters ever an inspiration

President, 2023 President, 2023 President, 2023
Giving back and serving our country, communities, workplaces, and even those outside our boundaries are part of our culture. Our scholarship program exemplifies that generous attitude and desire for constructive change
Our Sisterhood is crucial to our link, bringing us together across decades, backgrounds, and experiences Sisterhood encourages us to be our true selves and pull each other up as we work toward our individual and collective goals We celebrated one other's achievements, offered consolation during tough times, and stood together in solidarity during every storm I am eternally thankful for the unwavering support and deep friendships that Sisters provided through every success and difficulty, especially during my previous tenure as President A special and heartfelt shoutout goes to Archon Aya, VA Tin, my 1993 batchmates, the '80s & '90s Decades, President Nikko, PGA Boni, PGA Bingbing, PGA Marlene, and the UPDLSAAI Board
Throughout it all, we responded with grace and strength: the grace to solve difficulties, discover resilience and wisdom in the face of hardship, and, in the process, spread kindness and understanding among ourselves Then, with strength of character, we led with honesty, courage, and determination
Today, we are called to reaffirm our commitment to build on the legacy of our Charter Members, respecting their vision while gracefully forging our own paths and being a force for positive change Let us continue to be kind and compassionate toward one another Let us face the challenges ahead with resilience and commitment, knowing that, united, we can accomplish great things Let us treasure the links of Sisterhood that enhance our lives and make our Sorority a genuine home away from home.
Cheers to the past 78 years of achievements and memories and the bright future ahead as we continue to seek the higher things in life together Altiora Peto.

materials, advocacy statements, and videos that furthered the presence of the sorority. During her term as the Chairperson, the Deltan Scroll was relaunched and the physical Deltan Exhibit was resumed in various venues Without hesitation and without complaint, she learned and developed the skills required for the position she committed herself to.

Coming from a family of Deltans, Gabbi has always been acquainted with the UP Delta Lambda Sigma Sorority Because of the sisters she met throughout her early life and the Deltan events hosted at her home as she was growing up, Gabbi has always been interested in the culture and the people of the sorority. It was quite clear that Gabbi was on a path to becoming a Deltan herself. Now, she has not only joined the sorority, but she has given her whole self to the Delta Lambda Sigma.
Gabbi transferred from UP Manila in 2021 As a transferee during the pandemic, she yearned for a sense of community despite the limitations of the online space. In 2022, she joined the UP Delta Lambda Sigma Sorority and instantly connected with both resident and alumnae sisters. Gabbi knew then that she was home. She then actively participated in a variety of the sorority’s activities and quickly became a sister that anyone could turn to.
This past year, her presence in the sorority became unmistakably apparent when she stepped up to serve as the Chairperson of the Literary Committee.
Despite having little to no experience with graphic design or publicity making, Gabbi was determined to deliver.
Beyond her role as the Literary Committee Chairperson, Gabbi is an excellent example of commitment and loyalty to the Delta Lambda Sigma She not only excelled in her role but she made sure to extend support to every activity and every initiative of the sorority. Gabbi was consistently present in all sorority events. The sisters could always rely on her. Whenever the sorority (or the sisters) needed her, Gabbi was there. Whenever there are projects needed to be shared, you can expect Gabbi there. She would have already promoted it to everyone she knows As a resident, Gabbi played a crucial role in the success of the sorority
As a sister, Gabbi is undoubtedly someone you can trust and rely on. She has earnestly dedicated herself to serving others, making sisters feel welcome, and providing a listening ear to those in need. Any of the resident sisters will agree, Gabbi exemplifies sisterhood and compassion
Gabbi gave her whole self to the sorority while maintaining exemplary academic diligence. Despite investing considerable time in sorority activities, she understood that she was a student first before she was a sister. She prioritized her studies, which resulted to her being a University Scholar
Gabbi embodies what it means to be a Determined Light Seeker.

Recently, Usec Sasa was awarded as one of the Top 50 Asia Women Tech Leaders for 2024 Last year, she was also recognized as one of the Top 10 Women in Security, for Privacy Leadership Recognition by the National Privacy Commission, by the National Association of Data Protection Officers of the Philippines for Corporate Governance, and Best in Future of Trust by IDC Philippines and of the Asia Pacific Region

Deltans seek the higher things in life and what we do with our skills and humble gifts, how we share this for the betterment of others is always every Deltan’s proudest achievement.
Undersecretary Maria Francesca M Del Rosario ‘06 is this year's UP Delta Lambda Sigma Sorority’s most distinguished alumna.
Usec. Sasa passed the bar in 2022 and thereafter assumed a vital position as the country’s Undersecretary and the Head of Information and Communications Technology Group and Chief Information Officer of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Even before joining DBM, Usec. Sasa, who finished law school as a working law student, is already well immersed in the tech field having previously served as Vice President and Head of Artificial Intelligence and Data Policy of Data Science and AI Group of UnionBank of the Philippines and as Senior Cybersecurity Consultant of European-based firm, Indra and IT and Data Privacy Governance of Globe Telecom.
But on top of her distinguished accolades, Usec. Sasa is a “suuupeeerr cool person” – the kind who gives her wedding guests Star Wars-themed merchandise for giveaways said Francesca Adrienne “Cheska” Kapunan ‘23, whom she personally invited to join the sorority
For Christian “Chris” Mark Guingcanco SR ‘20 GA ‘23, who professionally joined DBM in 2021, this is true as a fact. “Usec. Sasa embodies the well-rounded individual we all aspire to be.”
Chris shared that after capping off a busy day at work with matu and fellowship on a Thursday night, they had a 9 a m meeting the following day with Usec Sasa as the chairperson without any problem, “I'll leave out some details, but bottles of Gatorade were emptied instead of coffee that morning. She was able to preside over the meeting like a rockstar still.”
Even before joining DBM, Cheska recalls how Usec Sasa has always proudly carried the name of the sorority in all the things that she did, “She has always been proud to be a Deltan.” For Cheska, seeing Usec. Sasa to carry the sorority name well ultimately inspired her to join the sorority.
A very active and well-rounded person, Usec Sasa makes time for her other interests. She runs marathons, does scuba diving and she has a corgi named “Wookie” - all these while being a wife to his husband Raymond and a mother to her son Lincoln.
Usec. Sasa fondly calls herself to be a “scubasurera” “I am a scuba diver. I love underwater. It's a completely relaxing world for me l usually join initiatives to clean the underwater, coastal, and marine ecosystems "
Saying that she tends to seek self-actualization by helping others, Usec. Sasa also mobilize family and friends to organize fund-raising projects to help those in need
"By working in a government institution, I gained the opportunity to collaborate with policymakers, stakeholders, and technology experts to develop and implement innovative solutions that can help improve the lives of citizens,” she added.
In doing this, she focused on the importance of a customer-centered approach. "In my previous roles, we used data analytics and business intelligence tools to inform our decision-making and improve our operations In the government, this means leveraging data to gain insights into citizen needs, monitor service delivery, and identify areas for improvement," she added.

While noting that she is a key leader in digital transformation, a generally male-dominated field, Usec. Sasa said she would rather stand out based on abilities rather than gender
"I don't view myself as an empowered woman' but rather as a competent professional who happens to be female. As a woman, I have faced challenges, but I focus on my qualifications, skills, and hard work to achieve success ”
Spoken like a true Deltan, she said “I try to lead by example and encourage other women to pursue their dreams despite any barriers they may face.”
Currently, Usec Sasa is making great strides in DBM. As reported in Top 50 Asia Women Tech Leaders, her latest project called “Project Marissa,” launched in September 2023, leverages blockchain and document tokenization to revolutionize document handling, enhancing data integrity, real-time tracking, and public accountability in government budget management. In effect, this boosts the efficiency and credibility of government budget management processes which aids decisionmaking, and reliable independent verification
While the decision to transfer from corporate to public service is quite an unfamiliar track to many, Usec Sasa’s vast experience in digital technology from her years in the private sector as well as her passion for helping citizens fueled her decision to transfer to the public sector and be part of the digital transformation in the government.
As a high-ranking official, she values teamwork and collaboration Her first directive to her team in the DBM was to treat her as just part of the team. For Chris who works closely with Usec Sasa in DBM, she leads by example, “Her communication style is clear, concise, and encourages open dialogue within her team ”
Chris recalls that despite joining DLS fourteen years before he joined the Sigma Rho, Usec. Sasa's leadership and character have never wavered, “ It's truly inspiring to have her as a sister Deltan,” said Chris.
For Usec. Sasa everything they are doing right now all goes back to service, "I told the team that l am here para sa bayan and that we need to work together. If we are able to make the lives of Filipinos a little bit better, everything would have been worth it."
Usec Sasa exemplifies the qualities of a true Deltan, dedicating her skills and achievements to the service of others. Her remarkable career in both the private and public sectors demonstrates her commitment to excellence, innovation, and leadership Her work on digital transformation and her focus on improving citizen services underscore her belief in the power of public service. Her journey reflects the spirit of UP Delta Lambda Sigma Sorority, where the highest achievements are those that benefit others
