Sieve (14B Issue)

On UP Aggregates, Inc.’s 29th year, we envisioned a more relevant and more impactful organization by bringing our leverage to its maximum potential. We described our term as Redefined at 29 because we believed that we are more than an academic organization, that we are more than a family and that we are more than who we think we are.

We’ve had a bunch of firsts. We started by conducting a 3-day UPCAT Review for Culiat High School with all services and review materials offered for free. As part of Iskonversations, we conducted an Alternative Classroom Learning Experience on Photography participated by UP OPTICS. The Civil Engineering Talk is now CHED accredited, thanks to the sacrifices and efforts of the steering committee. It was enjoying to tour the CE freshies in our campus through the Amazing Math Trail with an additional math refresher.

We were able to conduct 7 internal events, 3 professional seminars and workshops and 4 knowledge transfer sessions.

We engaged into 11 partnerships. We had 96 successful applicants for both semesters. We’ve had a number of tutorials for our members. With these accomplishments, I am proud that we managed to end our term in good financial standing.

| Events

The 2nd Intercollegiate AggregatES Quiz was successfully held last January 24, 2015 at the National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (NISMED) Auditorium in the University of the Philippines Diliman. Topics included in the Quiz were Engineering Mathematics, Statics of Rigid Bodies, Dynamics of Rigid Bodies, Mechanics of Materials, and Fluid Mechanics.

Participants On its second year, a total of 42 teams battled in 3 rounds of Engineering Sciences questions. These teams came from 18 universities and colleges within Metro Manila and nearby provinces namely, University of Perpetual Help System, Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology, Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Sta. Mesa, University of the East Caloocan, Holy Angel University, University of Makati, University of the East Manila, FEU Institute of Technology, Mapua Institute of Technology, Technological Institute of the Philippines–QC, University of Santo Tomas, Batangas State University, New Era University, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, PUP Taguig, National University and Technological University of the Philippines Manila.

Winners After the Quarrying and Sieving Rounds, the top 10 teams advanced to the Aggregates Round. The excitement escalated as two teams took the Instantaneous Round to break a tie. In the end, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila-Team A, Technological University of the Philippines Manila-Team C and FEU Institute of Technology-Team A emerged as Champion, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up, respectively.

The winners received cash prizes of P20,000, P15,000 and P10,000 pesos as well as plaques, medals, certificates of recognition and gift certificates from Manila Ocean Park and John Robert Powers.

Panel of Experts This year’s Panel of Experts was composed of Engr. Dominic Bautista (Mechanics of Materials; Fluid Mechanics), Engr. Romeo Eliezer Longalong (Statics of Rigid Bodies), Engr. Maxell Lumbera (Engineering Mathematics) and Engr. Raniel Suiza (Dynamics of Rigid Bodies).

Steering Committee Guided by the organization’s faculty adviser, Engr. Raniel M. Suiza, the committee led by Cindy Cuarto and Jeshaiah Urrea as OverAll Co-heads together with Aaron Daniel Buenaventura as the Registration Head, Justin Joseph Valdez as the Mechanics and Questions Head, Delwin Yu as the Programs Head, Angela Kariza Ines as the Logistics Head, Patrick Adrian Selda as the Finance Head, Jonathan Macamus as the Publicity Head and Camille Rose Santos as the Marketing Head, organized the quiz bee.

Three grueling rounds of engineering science have come to pass. It was fraught with risk, but three teams proved themselves worthy. Looking at the success of the event, indeed, the competition was able to achieve its aim to develop engineering competence coupled with the values of perseverance, honesty, teamwork and sportsmanship of Filipino engineering students.

Engineering Week 2015 Last February 26 to March 6, the UP Aggregates gave their shot at this year’s Engineering Week. These awesome people set out to prove that there is more to the game than just the game itself. There are excellent players, equally adept competitors, unwavering supporters and loads of fun, all of which we are constantly grateful for. We won some, in the spirit of healthy competition, and we lost some, in awesome fashion.

Let’s look back at how Ad Grex, the nation built by UP Aggregates, proved how a nation can thrive amidst adversity and come out strong. Cribrum. Aucti. Tentavit.

Aggre-Sponsored Events We are always the underdog. Never underestimate underdogs.

Proving the capacity to handle large events to compete on so-called “larger” organizations, UP Aggregates Incorporated bulks up to convene three events including the largely anticipated Engineering Film Festival in the middle of a highspirited Engineering Week.

Joining the almost two-week celebration of the college, Aggre organized three events – Pinoy Hockey, Eng’gsignia and the Engineering Film Festival. With its comparably huge magnitude of importance, the latter has been on par with the so-called night events which are vital points for every competing organization.

This year’s edition of the Eng’g Film Fest features full-length shorts of two categories.

The Category A consists of 10-15 minute shorts

tackling on various themes of nostalgia. The second category, Category B, is composed of 4-5 minute shorts revolving on how to interpret a given script. Category A has 12 org representatives, and Category B was participated by eleven competing organizations.

To ensure unbiased judging of awards, the judges of the main event were carefully picked from different fields related to film and the industry itself. The panel of judges was composed of College of Mass Communication (CMC) students, filmmakers, photographers, CMC institute deans and the like, all of which has hands on experience on film.

EFF pulled off a one-day-only screening at the Engineering Theater last March 5. It also screened the non-competing films made by UP Aggregates as well. Tickets were sold for P20 as some of the competing orgs’ representatives were there to support their film. The audience also included pundits, enthusiasts and film buffs

Featured | from other colleges, extending the vibe of EFF outside Eng’g itself. Major awards were given after the screening. IE Club and UP Circuit were big winners as they bagged the best short film awards for Category A and B respectively.

Aggre also organized two other events as part of the college-wide celebration of the Engineering Week. These were Pinoy Hockey and Eng’gsignia.

Night Events Engineering Week’s most anticipated attractions, the Night Events are composed of competitions in which engineering organizations, including the Aggregates of course, participate, and as the term implies, these are held nightly during the span of the week. This year’s night events, starting with the Smoker Night on February 26, were attended by a massive crowd (and still that would seem an understatement) of engineering students and supporters. As a fun tradition, these are truly patronized and enjoyed by everyone.

Overall, UP Aggregates proved that it can also handle big fish in the Engineering Week. The success of EFF and the other events showed that Aggre is no longer the bullied minnow of the competition, as it evolved into something that can handle large events and compete bigtime.

The event also featured performances by the UP Concert Chorus. It was an enjoyable musicfilled night and the week couldn’t have started any other way.

On the third of March, already high spirits continued to rise as Indakan 2015 came up on stage, with a dazzling array of ceaselessly energetic performances to keep the ball rolling.

The Pair Category was packed with meaningful dances with touching back stories, daring themes, and even acrobatic stunts.

Awitan 2015, held last February 27, being a choral competition, started the week off with a plethora of entertaining musical performances, ranging from mellow soulful to beat-box-lively. It was a sight to behold, rather a song to be heard, various choral groups singing their hearts out in honour of their affiliation and passion for music. The UP Aggregates Vocal Ensemble, our very own, gave their rendition of Robbie Williams’ “Angels” and

Our very own Dada Badiola and TJ Rentoy gave it their all and, for lack of a better term, killed the mirror dance. The Group Category, on the other hand, showcased vivacious routines and colourful costumes which gave way to a very festive mood. The Aggression Dance Crew came out with a groovy jazz performance. It turned out to be a rocking night, and sure enough, ‘twas more fun the second time, err night, around.

The following day, March 4, Maskipaps 2015 was staged in front of Melchor Hall for another awesome night. The Solo Category took a step back through time to depict the seemingly primitive boldness of the Stone Age. Hunters and amazons took to the ramp and gave lasting impressions. Our Ernanie Marin went in and brought the panda. The Pair Category, on the other hand, sported a steampunk theme, with Angeline Vergara and Kent Yao being one among the daring pairs. Lastly, the Group Category went forward, with a futuristic motif. Cyborgs, clockwork entities, and winged creatures graced the stage in trios, ours being Nikki Marcelino, Raina Victorioso, and Josanna Bunag. A few stand-up comedians entertained the crowd before the night ended, setting the scene ready for an epic culmination.

Ultimately, on the sixth of March, it was time. It was finally time for Timeless: Miss Engineering 2015. The candidates were made to portray the great women of the world, who have been made timeless by their contributions to mankind, such as Marilyn Monroe, Amelia Earhart, and the like.

Throughout the night, they were showcased in their swimsuits, evening gowns, and character attires. Our very own Miss Aggregates played Coco Chanel in the most fabulous manner possible. During the talent portion, several song and dance numbers emerged, but nothing matched the breathtaking, bone-breakingly awesome Chandelier performance by Miss Aggregates. The colourful night was also dedicated to the cause of women empowerment and gender equality.

In the end, it ended up an amazing culmination event, overwhelmed by the unending support of every batchmate, orgmate, friend, and family. As Miss Aggregates Christian Villarin a.k.a. Coco Chanel, Best in Talent and Miss Engineering 1st Runner-up, put it, we all can love - and I guess we all did love, the way it ended and even its entirety, Engineering Week 2015.

Ultimate Bonding Experience Pasafest The annual Pasafest is a short gathering held by the members of the organization, strategically scheduled after the December break, such that members can share delicacies coming from their respective provinces. It was held on January 22 at MH 501, right after the first general meeting for the semester.

Ultimate Valentine’s Experience In a further attempt to reinforce the affectionate bonds inside the 143-member-strong organization, the UP Aggregates Incorporated Committee for Internal Affairs held the first ever Ultimate Valentines Experience, more commonly known as UVE last February 11 to 13.

The vibes of love was felt all over the UP Aggregates tambayan as the Valentines-themed internal event provided entertainment and stress-relievers with three main events to help the members ease through the week before Valentine’s Day (February 14) which is also a time for Engineering Week preparations.

UVE kicked-off Wednesday, February 11, with “Fixing a Broken Heart”, an activity where the members pick a halved piece of a heart and the goal was to find its other half from the other members. The first ten pairs that completed the “broken hearts” were given a prize and a free snapshot on the Love Photo Booth with a heart-shaped photo frame.

The next day’s event was Love Bingo, a derivative of a bingo-styled contest where the member lets another member sign his or her sheet to a cell which fits a corresponding description. The goal is to complete all cells signed with distinct members signed on each cell. The first eight members that aced the task won respective prizes. This activity really became a way for bonding and a deeper getting-toknow about each member.

UVE ended with the Dedication Day where a sign-up link was given where members can anonymously (or not) dedicate cards and/or chocolates to another member they desire or admire. Romance was on the air as, according to reliable sources, six lucky members were dedicated with cards and/or chocolates.

| EVENTS An offshoot of Aggre’s former event “Love, Notes, and Serenades”, UVE was a significant change from its predecessor and provided more cooperation and bonding for the members. Being its first year of implementation, the baby event was also offered a room for improvement. “Next year kung sakaling Inte pa rin ako, mas bongga ang gagawin kong UVE” Darryl Lemos, one of the co-heads (along with Ian Borcelis), said regarding the future level-up of UVE.

AGGREnergized (Sportsfest) The Sportfest held last April 18 at the UP Bliss Covered Court was filled with action, laughter, and of course - sweat. Not everyone was particularly sporty nor physically active, but the members of both UP Aggregates, Inc. and PUP Aggregates joined the different games that were lined up for that day.

Because ultimately, everyone just wanted to have a good time - and they surely did.

First was the opening remarks by Internals Head Monica Ledesma, followed by messages from the event heads and the President of PUP Aggre. Then basketball (men) followed, which ended at around 11:30 to make time for lunch. The women’s volleyball was held after lunch, which was unexpectedly interrupted by a garbage truck, so dodgeball was played instead while waiting for the truck to leave.

After dodgeball, women’s volleyball resumed followed by men’s volleyball. All were too tired to play mixed volleyball so the day was ended by taking a picture and giving the certificate of participation to PUP Aggregates.

We would like to thank the PUP Aggregates, as well as our own alumni, for joining us in our Ultimate Bonding Experience. We hope to maintain this close bond with all of you, and we’re looking forward to keeping in touch through our orgs’ future endeavors.

House of Refuge Last May 9, some members of the organization had the pleasure of visiting and meeting the children from the House of Refuge for the second time around. The activities given aimed beyond having fun, but also getting know the kids on a more personal note by knowing their aspirations and in the process, inspiring them to follow it. Donations from our own members were given after all the activities, and lunch was given to the kids, followed by a very heartfelt performance from the children.

The morning spent between fun, games, performances and getting to know the children was, as one of the members said, a very rewarding experience.

Professional Seminar Internship UP Aggregates held the 3rd Professional Seminar this academic year on January 28 at MH 501. Led by speakers Sir Joaquin Vicente Ferrer and Dr. Eric Augustus Tingatinga, the PS 3 revolved around the Tips, Benefits and What to Know about Internship. In addition, Ivan Molina, Jose Eleazar Concepcion and Jayson Silang shared their experiences on internship in Datem, DPWH Bulacan and AMH, respectively. This seminar aimed to help the members decide on their plans with regards to internship, and even to career building in the future.

Knowledge Transfer STAAD + MS Office Carrying on the trademark as the premier academic organization for UP Civil Engineering students, the UP Aggregates Incorporated, spearheaded by the Committee for Press and Publicity joined forces with the Academic Affairs Committee to launch Knowledge Transfer 2: STAAD Pro and MS Office, last March 21 at the Engineering Library 1 Discussion Room.

The second installment of this academic year’s Knowledge Transfer series and first of this semester, KT 2 tackled tips and hacks on STAAD.Pro and Microsoft Office, especially MS Word and Excel, and how to maximize its functions in application to daily student work. STAAD.Pro is a program widely used in higher CE subjects for structural design and analysis. The main speaker of KT 2 was Gabriel Miro, a UP Aggregates alumni and former Academic Affairs Committee Head who finished BS CE as magna cum laude.

The Discussion Room was jam-packed, mostly of UP Aggregates members at third and fourth year standing, as the Knowledge Transfer discussion started, with Miro sharing what he learned in manipulating the programs discussed. The discussion went deeper as methods are taught on how to maximize on STAAD for solid analysis and design of trusses and structures, and on Microsoft Word and Excel’s unfamiliar features that are of big help for formulating term papers.

KT 2 ended with the attendees full of new knowledge useful for their future paper works and analyses especially on thesis making. This helped the members gain the upper hand not only on college, but on their future careers as the country’s leading civil engineers.

Filmmaking and Video-editing Video editing is surely a convenient skill to learn nowadays which is why for the third installation of the Knowledge Transfer Series, the Committee for Press and Publicity has decided to tackle the theory and basics of filmmaking all the way from conceptualization to post-processing.

| EVENTS With Ezra Ebron discussing about film theory and concepts and Tom Mari Jandel Rentoy focusing on the basics of editing process itself using Sony Vegas Pro, the members left the Engineering Library 1 Discussion Room with additional knowledge that will definitely give them an edge. This seminar was held last April 11.

AutoCAD To end the year-long series, the Committee for Press and Publicity tied up with the Committee for Academic Affairs once again for the fourth and final installation of Aggre’s Knowledge Transfer last April 25 at the Engineering Library 1 Discussion Room.

An informative tutorial was conducted on AutoCAD, one of the most encountered software in the civil engineering industry. The tutorial session was conducted by the current Director for Academic Affairs, Aloysius Alipio. The session was interactive and the members learned enough about the basics of the software.

Elections A great deal of progress in any organization can be largely dependent on its leaders, and thus the courage to step up and take the lead is an essential trait of an ideal aggregate. Last March 12, Aggre conducted its annual election of the Board of Directors and other officers. After all the effort the Committee on Elections, headed

by Dan Mari Estanislao, put into organizing, collecting, and tallying, the people have spoken.

The newly elected Board of Directors for AY 2015-2016 is composed of the following awesome people: President Jose Eleazar Concepcion Director for Internal Affairs Ma. a. Must be an active member for at least

one (1) academic semester prior to their election;

b. Must not have been subjected by the University to disciplinary action;

c. Must be a member of the committee by which they aspire to handle, at least once in their membership history unless there will be no candidates after three nominations as approved by simple majority (50%+1) of the general assembly and the winning candidate must shift to the assigned committee after being elected.

The amendment was made in order to resolve the problem due to the lack of nominees for the position of Treasurer. Mr. Alejandro, who was then a member of the Commitee for Internal Affairs, was successfully nominated, elected, and transferred to the Committee for Finance during the second semester.

Aggre also started accepting applications for event headship of its major events, and conducted interviews for each applicant last March 16 up to March 20.

Aside from the yearly elections, the proposal to recognize Ms. Angelica Lou (Angie) Casibua as an honorary member of the organization was also discoursed. According to the 2013 Constitution, Article II, Section 7: An honorary member must not be a member of the Organization prior to his nomination. He may or may not satisfy Sec. 1 of this Article and must be nominated by at least ten (10) resident members of the Organization. Nominations in written form stating all the meritorious and significant services for the Organization shall be submitted to the Committee for Internal Affairs, and presented to the General Assembly in a special meeting. A majority vote (2/3) of the General Assembly is required for the conferment of honorary membership.

Angie Casibua applied in the second semester of AY 2012-2013 (as part of the Les MiserAggre 12B Batch). She failed to attend the Final Rites (and induction) for three consecutive semesters, and thus her membership was forfeited. However, she was active in the organization (specifically in the Committee for Finance) when she was still a probationary member and even after she lost her membership.

Through an online form, more than 2/3 of the general assembly voted in favor of her honorary membership. She was then officially inducted on April 21 as an honorary member of the organization.

Aggreame of Thrones Starting with over 70 applicants, the Aggreame of Thrones 14B Batch faced the semester-long application process set by the Committee for Applications, and eventually emerged 51 members strong.

Led by their Queen (Batch Head) Renee Agnes Vizmanos, the batch conquered different challenges and trials, which led them to gain a deeper appreciation of the organization and their batchmates, in the end.

Applicants’ Orientation The Applicants’ Orientation for the UP Aggregates Batch 14B was held on February 3, at Melchor Hall Room 501. Serving as an introductory step to potential new members of the Organization, this event was handled by the Committee for Applications. The event had the theme “Dig Deep”, conveying the message that Aggre can help the applicants dig deep within themselves and unearth their potential.

Features of the Apps’ Or included testimonies from alumni like Sir Raniel M. Suiza, Ma’am Leizl Raissa E. Tan, Sir Romeo Eliezer Longalong and Gabriel Miro and resident members like Cindy Cuarto; games for the prospective applicants; and presentations endorsing the Organization and why it’s awesome to be part of UP Aggregates, Inc. The Apps’ Or also had a game involving the visitors; it was similar to “pass the message”, except that actions instead of words are passed. As a side note, the resident members wore Aggre shirts for promotion purposes. Food was also served to the visitors. The program concluded with a photoshoot for both the mems and the potential applicants.

Komon Kain The Komon Kain for the 14B Applicants was held on February 17, at Jollibee Katipunan Ave. It took place in a form of a dinner involving the applicants and the members, to serve as a bonding time and a setting for the presentation of the app process. Bryant Lalata hosted the Komon Kain while Kenneth Joseph Peña explained the app process.

| Featured The program started by “sorting” the applicants into the standing committees, which served as teams for the game. In this game, each team has an assigned dance action. The team who has the first turn performs their own action, then performs that of the team whom they want to pass on the next turn.

If the other team performs the dance and chant of another team correctly, then they stay in the game.

Otherwise, they get eliminated.

After the game, the Committee for Applications made a presentation about the application process for the 14B Apps. It outlines the events the apps needed to attend and/or organize, the breakdown of the pointing system and the contents of the sigsheet. The events are organized on an all-or-nothing basis--that is, each applicant has to attend all of the events or they are dropped from the app process.

The Komon Kain then ended with a song number by the applicants and photoshoots.

Apps’ Week and Variety Show As part of their application process, one of the first tasks that the applicants were made to do was organizing their Apps’ Week. It was held for three nights in the Balay Kalinaw. The mems and apps got to know more about each other by teaming up according to “Houses” and playing the games prepared by the apps.

Variety shows are one of the many of Aggre’s methods of moulding its applicants. It teaches them a variety of things indispensable for being a productive aggregate, from the basics of event handling, to planning and brainstorming, to working under pressure, to just letting it all out and having fun.

Last April 28, 2015, the 14B Aggreame of Thrones applicants brought to us The Purple Wedding, held at Jackman Plaza, Muñoz, Quezon City. The night was filled with jokes, pick-up lines, and good food. There were several nice dance numbers, a few songs played and sung while the people were eating, entertaining skits, and even some rap performances. Like all else before, they concluded with the batch dance and the singing of the batch song, and as its title implies, they truly were, all in this together. That, and that everyone had loads of fun, is what is essential.

Formal Interview and Final Rites As with every semester, the 14B batch was required to undergo the Formal Interview (and the recently implemented app requirement, the Constitution Quiz). Their dedication to push through with the application was tested; they were asked several things about the organization, its structure, members, events, and different issues. Finally, the applicants were inducted during the Final Rites, the culmination of their semester-long application process. Last June 3, 51 new members were inducted and finally welcomed as part of the Aggre Family.

Year-End Report Aside from setting a good example in “achieving scholastic excellence”, the Committee for Academic Affairs was also able to handle different acad-related events for members and nonmembers alike. They handled the UPCAT Review for the students of Culiat High School, spanning three weekends in July 2014. They also took care of the CE Freshies’ academics by offering tutorial sessions in Math 17 and Math 53, while our own members took advantage of the ES 11 and ES 13 tutorials. And of course, the committee was also in charge of providing lecture notes and sample exams for the different subjects in the CE curriculum.

The Committee for Applications was the committee assigned in handling the CE freshies at the start of the academic year. They held the UP Campus Tour + Math 17 Refresher entitled “Amazing Math Trail” wherein the CE freshies were tasked to do team-bonding activities and answer math questions while being toured around the university campus.

The committee also made the application process more interesting for this academic year.

The Applicants’ Orientation for the 1st and 2nd semesters both had a full house. The app process included events like the Batch Tasks, Leadership Task, Komon Kain, Apps’ Week, Buddy Wars, Variety Show, Formal Interview, and the Final Rites. The Apps’ Manual and sigsheet template were also provided in order to guide the apps. in the app process. Extra points were also given for being active in Aggre’s events. The committee was able to produce 45 new members for the 1st semester (50 Shades Aggrey 14A) and 51 new members for the 2nd semester (Aggreame of Thrones 14B).

At the start of the year, the Commitee for External Affairs was able to get Review Innovations as the organization’s Corporate Sponsor. Fortunately, the major events of Aggre were also wellsponsored, with CE Talk having 16 sponsors and the ES Quiz having 12 sponsors. Partnerships were also made with different organizations, such as: UP PRIME for Jumpstart; UP ETC for Kapekonomiya; UP ARISE for The Great Freshie Tour; UP IBA for Tree Planting; Engineering Academic Circle for Reviews; UP ARISE for the Renewable Energy talk; USC for Balitaktakan; UP EcoSoc for Lights for Leyte; UP CSA for Start Up; UP StatSoc for the Mocking Jay Movie Screening; and UP PRIME for Engineering Leadership Conference.

The organization also held an ACLE (Alternative Classroom Learning Experience) during the 1st semester, with the title “T3: Tips, Tricks, Trivia and Anything You Need to Learn About Photography”. The event was held in partnership with UP OPTICS. The organization’s money was definitely safe in the hands of the Committee for Finance. Before the start of the academic year, a Calculator Sale was held by the committee, with Casio fx-991ES Plus calculators being sold for Php 840. Smoother transactions were assured during the CE Talk and ES Quiz, with the Finance having a separate booth for the event merchandise for both events.

With cooperation from the committee members, other financial transactions were also carried out with ease. At the end of the academic year, the turnout of Aggre’s income was significantly higher than last year’s.

| Featured The Committee for Internal Affairs had the members’ welfare in check for the entire year. The committee continued implementing the semestral membership renewal and mid-sem + end-of-sem evaluations, the recitation of the preamble every General Meeting, strict attendance, and sending out notification letters for under-observation members. The members’ Facebook group was also active with the regular posting of birthday greetings, the game Four Truths One Lie (trivia game in order to get to know the members), and The Aggre Files or TAF (a spinoff of The Diliman Files wherein members can send in their concerns or “confessions” through an online form, anonymously).

The members also got to bond through the Ultimate Bonding Experience or UBE handled by the committee. For the first semester, they handled the sem-starter at the Quezon City Memorial Circle and Aggre Gives Back to the children in Pook Polaris, while the Aggrenergized sportsfest at the UP Bliss Court and the Outreach Program for the House of Refuge were done in the second semester. In addition to the UBE, a Halloween-themed Committee Wars and an Ultimate Valentine’s Experience were also held.

Always working in the background, the Committee for Logistics and Secretarial Operations made sure that all operations of the organization were smooth all throughout the year. They started with the tambayan. They conducted a general clean up before the two semesters in order to clean and organize the current records we have.

The tambayan was also renovated, with new benches that also serve as storage, new paint, and new items. The committee also worked hard in order for Aggre to be recognized as an Engg-based organization. And of course, the committee worked with the logistics of all the events – both internal and external.

The Committee for Professionals and Alumni Relations made sure that the resident members had professional growth, as well as good relations with our alumni.

To accomplish the former, the committee continued the Professional Seminar Series from last year, with topics on Leadership, Event Handling, and Internship. Regular updates were also done in the alumni group, wherein documentation and publicity materials of all the events of the organization were posted. We can say that the alumni became more interactive, with each comment and reply, making the Alumni Facebook group more alive.

With one pubmat after another, the Committee for Press and Publicity surely made some noise for Aggre on its 29th year. It started with building standards for the members, with the Bootcamp for Pub mems and the Knowledge Transfer for other mems. The KT consisted of four seminars: Design Basics, STAAD.Pro + MS Office, Filmmaking and Video Editing, and AutoCAD. An online KT was also launched (http://aggrepubtutorials.tumblr. com) for those who missed the KT seminars. For efficiency, the committee was divided into three: the Info Team, Design Team, and Copy Team, all of which has a specific role in the committee.

The committee also helped the Finance Committee with the designs of Aggre’s merchandise, especially the Build Me UP shirtline and the Aggre angas shirt. All the events (internal and external) were also properly documented through photos and videos. The documentations were posted through the Aggre Facebook page.

And lastly, a stronger presence was established with the launch of the Aggre website (http:// upaggregatesinc.org), with bringing back Sieve, making personalized profile and cover photos for the members, and with posting and sharing excellent publicity materials for all the events.
