Ultimately, the measure of these new facilities will not be found in their square footage, technology, or even their beauty. Their true measure lies in the lives they will shape and the difference those lives will make in the world.
Richard L. Dunsworth, University President
From the
UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT
Dear Friends,
Hello and welcome to the University of the Ozarks’ 2024–25 Annual Report.
This past academic year stands among the most transformative in our University’s 191-year history. We completed two of the largest and most significant construction projects ever undertaken at Ozarks—the New Student Residence Hall and the Thomas and Frances Wilson Athletic Complex. With the opening of these remarkable facilities, an unmistakable sense of excitement, pride, and gratitude has filled our campus.
These new landmarks do more than enhance our physical landscape—they reflect the enduring spirit of University of the Ozarks. They represent both the courage of our past and the promise of our future—a future centered on our students. The New Student Residence Hall is far more than a building; it is a home. It is a place where young people from across Arkansas, across the nation, and around the world will come together to live, learn, dream, and grow—beginning some of the most transformative years of their lives. Likewise, the Wilson Athletic Complex will inspire our student-athletes to reach new heights, providing the resources and environment they need to achieve excellence both on and off the field.
Since our founding in 1834, University of the Ozarks has been a place of bold growth—not only in size or stature, but in spirit and vision. These new facilities embody that same spirit. Every design choice—every locker room, every gathering space, every sustainable feature—was made with purpose: to encourage curiosity, foster community, and create connection. Ultimately, the measure of these new facilities will not be found in their square footage, technology, or even their beauty. Their true measure lies in the lives they will shape and the difference those lives will make in the world. That is the heart of our mission—to prepare students not only for success, but for service.
Within these pages, you will find the names of more than 1,800 alumni and friends in our Donor Honor Roll who share a common vision: to ensure that University of the Ozarks continues to be among the most distinctive and impactful private institutions of higher education in the nation. Because of your generosity, Ozarks continues to thrive. Your support enables us not only to construct impressive new facilities, but also to uphold our unwavering commitment to reduce student debt and make a private, Christian education both affordable and accessible.
I will never tire of saying, Thank You! Because of you—and the generosity reflected beginning on page 8— University of the Ozarks continues to deliver on its mission and change lives for the better every day.
With gratitude, Rich

“Our family supports Ozarks out of deep gratitude for the incredible impact the University has had on our lives. Ozarks is where we met, received an exceptional education, made lifelong friends, and had the opportunity to compete in collegiate athletics. The school shaped who we are today, and we’re especially proud to give back. We hope our support helps future generations experience the same sense of community, growth, and opportunity that meant so much to us.”

WHY I SUPPORT OZARKS
“As a
product of large, public universities, my time at Ozarks changed my perspective on the college experience. The individual attention and care that was shown to each student was a revelation, and the historic commitment of the institution to make a liberal arts education accessible to all left its mark indelibly in my heart. Supporting Ozarks assures those values will remain for generations.”

WHY I SUPPORT OZARKS
“I
give to Ozarks because my time there was truly formative. The experiences, relationships, and growth I found at Ozarks helped shape who I am today. If my support can help future students have those same, or better, opportunities, I consider that time and money well spent.”

WHY I SUPPORT OZARKS
“I support Ozarks because I want my impact to show that I value my education and that I have a deep respect for the institution and all the people who shaped me into the person I am today. As a career and technical educator, I understand that giving back is the ultimate way to magnify the value of my degree. I encourage students every day to expand their skills and strive for higher education to reach their professional goals.”

WHY I SUPPORT OZARKS
“When an institution like Ozarks makes an investment in your life and contributes to your life being successful and you have an opportunity to pay that investment back by supporting that institution, you do so with Ozarks Pride. That is why I’m proud to support University of Ozarks.”

“I give back to Ozarks because of the strong foundation it gave me that has led me to where I am in my career today. Without the caring professors and staff, there’s no way I could have balanced my classes with my extracurriculars. I want to pay back those kindnesses and give new students those same opportunities that were afforded me.”

“I support Ozarks for two reasons: one, for the exceptional education I received, which prepared me to thrive in my career and in life—to see the world around me and respond with curiosity and compassion. And secondly, the thrill of having our oldest child choose to obtain an education at U of O as well. What a joy to witness Em (2019) be embraced by an environment that encouraged the same academic prowess, along with campus engagement, to prepare Em for life and career.”
