Our History
Ozarks has been pushing boundaries and blazing new trails in higher education since 1834. We were the first University in Arkansas to admit women and to graduate African-Americans, and the first in the nation to create a program for students with learning disabilities. Today, we continue to break new ground, providing a customized curriculum to empower a generation of bold new thinkers with the skills to lead in an ever-changing world.

Athletics: NCAA Division III
Small School. Big Spirit.
Athletes make up 37 percent of our student body, so we definitely know a thing or two about game-day excitement. Whether they’re training for a soccer match or cheering from the bleachers, we have tons of opportunities to let their school spirit soar.

Facility & Academic: Highlights
At Ozarks, impressive growth and progress is happening every day. The Wilson Athletic Complex, which is home to new baseball, softball, and soccer facilities, will be completed in Fall 2024. Come Summer 2025, Ozarks will also be home to a brand new 250-bed residence hall.
Additionally, Ozarks is in the process of entering academic partnerships for programs in nursing and dental hygiene. For the creatives, we are also in the planning stages of implementing graphic design courses.
