The process by which each edition of VORTEX comes about is both an arduous and an exciting one; arduous because of the hours of work that go into the selection and preparation process (for which especial thanks are due to the Editorial Board, and in particular Judith Heneghan),
and exciting because of the sheer volume of high quality work we regularly receive from both Winchester students and those studying at other UK universities. This edition of VORTEX is perhaps even more exciting, however, because it is the first published under the auspices of Winchester University Press, which has now formally
taken the magazine under its wing.
