About This Exercise Blue Print Encounter 1 and 2 (July 10 to 11 and Aug 15-16) Objectives: i. To complete environmental and academic scans on the future of Guyana and the future of UG education and training in that context. ii. To design the University of Guyana of the foreseeable future.

Encounter 1: What Are We Facing?

HOW will we change?

Blueprints outline the organization's future goals and documents the specific steps that are needed to accomplish these goals.

Blueprints may be thought of as the “grand designs/plans� realized through shorter term initiatives such as strategic, implementation and operational plans which are expected to produce the short to medium term targets.

UG’s ENDURING UNDERSTANDINGS about ourselves

As THE national University and therefore a key national player in shaping Guyana’s identity and realities;

As a transformational entity positioned to restructure, impact and empower Guyana’s people (and regions including neighbor’s) to meet our highest aspirations in a sustainable responsible way;

As a transcendent institution ‘working across all divides and across time to create the best Guyanese graduate fit for purpose and focused on a positive cohesive future;
