We are so grateful for the numerous opportunities that the School of Dance has provided for us. Beginning our college experience immediately following a global pandemic was a challenge we all faced together, and through the tough times, the faculty and staff continued to see the best in each of us. They acted as guides when we felt lost, gave us support when we needed it, and encouraged us every step of the way. We will forever cherish the memories we made here.
To our families, we thank you for the love and support that you have shown us, for not only the past four years, but throughout our entire lives. Without you, we would never be the people we are today.
We acknowledge that this land, which is named for the Ute tribe, is the traditional and ancestral homeland of the Shoshone, Paiute, Goshute, and Ute Tribes. The University of Utah recognizes and respects the enduring relationship that exists between many Indigenous peoples and their traditional homelands. We respect the sovereign relationship between tribes, states, and the federal government, and we affirm the University of Utah’s commitment to a partnership with Native Nations and Urban Indian communities through research, education, and community outreach activities.

After a series of emails that put me in touch with Mr. Wheeldon’s agent, I was given permission to perform it for this show! I couldn’t be more excited to share this beautiful piece with my friends and family.”

“This piece is to celebrate how I’m still here. Everything has been dark for the past while and I still have days where I can’t see the light through the rain and clouds. But I’m still here. And I can even begin to enjoy what I love again. Thank you to my family for all your love and support. I don’t think I’d still be here without you.
To the audience - remember that simply existing is enough. Enjoy the performance!”
