From the Director Welcome to the Hayes Christensen Theatre for Fall Dance 2. Tonight, Fall Dance 2 presents premieres

by Melissa Bobick, Satu Hummasti and Daniel Clifton, guest artist Ephrat Asherie, Molly Heller, and Alexandra Barbier. Their works are realized through and showcase dancers in the School of Dance at the University from both the Modern and Ballet Programs.

Together the choreographers and dancers have spent many hours in the studio creating the dances you’re about to see - dances that celebrate creativity, physicality, humanity, and the quest to discover more about ourselves, each other, and the world around us.

Dance is a collaborative event and as Fall Dance 2 Director I would also like to recognize the creativity of our marketing, technical, audio/video, and costume staff and designers and thank them for all of their dedication and hard work. It through the collaborations in and out of the studio and through your attendance (both in person and virtually) Fall Dance 2 is actualized.

Along with my colleagues in the University of Utah School of Dance, I want to thank you for attending this evening’s performance. Enjoy the show.

Daniel Clifton Fall Dance 2 Concert Director Dance in the School of Dance is approached as a mature artistic pursuit that may deal with a broad spectrum of human conditions and issues in today’s society. As such, there may be subject matter, language, physical movement, and/or presentation of the human body in our performances that go beyond mere entertainment, and which may be seen as challenging for an audience member based upon one’s values, assumptions, and life experience.
