“Last spring we took Middle East Current Affairs taught by retired professor Dr. Cleveland. We enjoyed the course thoroughly as well as his format. In the Fall, my wife and I enrolled in Introduction to Spanish. We also took a shorter course on World Religions. All of these courses challenged “our grey matter”, so that is good. Looking through the various course outlines, you will notice there is a wide range of courses offered.

VOLUNTEER AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS ABORIGINAL GRANDMOTHERS CARING FOR GRANDCHILDREN SUPPORT NETWORK Grandmothers caring for grandchildren are invited to monthly Support Network meetings to celebrate their strengths, share their experiences and talk about issues of concern. SENIORS’ UNIVERSITY GROUP (SUG) The Seniors’ University Group mission is to promote the value and availability of lifelong learning opportunities for older learners in the community in collaborative partnerships with the Lifelong Learning Centre. The group was established in 1977 to work with the University of Regina to develop learning programs to enhance the quality of life for older adults living in Regina. Those wishing to receive SUG rates for LLC courses must be members of the Seniors’ University Group for the year course is being offered.

SUG membership is open to those 50 years of age and over who pay the annual membership fee which is $30 for the year April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019. You can join or update your membership for 2018-19 when you register for courses and receive SUG membership benefits which include: - Lower fees for selected day time LLC Courses - Live & Learn newsletter - Vote for SUG Board members - Run for a position on the Board, or join a committee - Invitations to special lectures, social events and more - Access to the University of Regina libraries at no charge The Seniors’ University Group has recently established informal groups interested in doing things together including tours to places of interest in Regina and beyond. CRAFT BEER APPRECIATION (7234) This course covers a brief history of brewing focusing on craft beer, specifically craft beer in Saskatchewan and Regina. Participants will learn about traditional and non-traditional brewing processes, ingredients and techniques.

REMINDER LIFELONG LEARNING CENTRE FITNESS COURSES BEGIN WEEK OF APRIL 23 Restorative Yoga, Beginner, Advanced and Multi-level Yoga, as well as Line Dancing, Bellyfit Sage and T’ai Chi courses are held at Westminster United Church Gym, 3025 13th Avenue.

PARKING PARKING AT PALLISER BUILDING There is ample 2-hour on-street parking at metered parking around the Palliser Building. Free 2-hour on-street parking is available around Central Park just south of Palliser Building. Meters are free for two hours on Saturdays.

After 6:00 pm meters around Palliser Building are free. You can also park FREE at the SaskPower parking lot across the street evenings and weekends.

FREE Parking at College Avenue Campus for Spring Term U of R Parking Services has agreed to waive parking fees for Lifeline Learning Centre (LLC) students who wish to park at the College Avenue Campus (CAC) until LLC moves back in fall of 2018. This parking will be available to LLC students as space permits in Lot 20 M Area. These are non-electrified spots in the parking lot.

There are three conditions for students to receive complimentary parking: 1. You must let Student Services staff know you want to use this parking lot and provide them with your license plate number – or numbers if you have more than one vehicle you will drive when coming to LLC courses.

2. You must be registered in one or more LLC courses or forums to get on the list for FREE parking to be provided to UR Parking Enforcement Officers so they will know you are authorized to park in Lot 20 M Area and not issue a ticket or tow your vehicle.

3. There must be space available in Lot 20 M Area which is being used by construction crew and others.

Once you have registered your vehicle license plate number you will remain on the list until June 30, 2018.

For fall 2018 when the Lifelong Learning Centre is back at the College Avenue Campus you will need to purchase a parking permit to continue parking in the lot behind CAC. If you have questions about parking, please contact Student Services at 306-585-5748.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy All requests for withdrawals or refunds for Centre for Continuing Education non-credit courses must be submitted in writing. Please use the form available on our website or from Student Services Office. Supporting documentation as noted on the form must be provided when you return your completed form.

Students who withdraw from a course more than 10 business days before the course start date will be charged an administrative fee of up to $25 unless the withdrawal is for medical or compassionate reasons. Those who withdraw less than 10 business days before the course begins, or after it has started, will be charged the full course fee, but may find a suitable substitute to take their place. Students may also switch to another course offered the same term and will only be charged for making the change if the new course has a higher course fee or a materials fee.

The University of Regina reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient registration or other unforeseen events. If this occurs participants will be given the opportunity to transfer into another course or full refunds will be issued.

Fee Sharing or Fee Waiving Policy Fee sharing or fee waiving is available to make it possible for members of the Seniors’ University Group to take selected LLC courses regardless of income. Information and application form are available from Student Services Office.
