Where You’ll Study

Exton Park

The historic Exton Park is where our story began, offering a wide range of courses since opening its doors in 1839. Today you’ll find a variety of academic Schools, some fantastic teaching and learning facilities and plenty to keep you entertained. It’s situated only a 10-minute walk from the city centre and provides a friendly, secure and supportive environment in which to live and study.

Wheeler

With opportunities to gain hands-on experience across all our specialist vocational courses in health, medicine, law and policing, Wheeler is all about putting theory into practice using specialist, subject-specific facilities. Overlooking the River Dee, the Wheeler building is located within the lively city centre of Chester.

Creative Campus, Kingsway

Kingsway is our specially developed creative arts campus offering a range of modern facilities and equipment to bring learning to life. This close-knit campus is all about an immersive learning experience and an open environment for you to showcase your creativity, both inside and outside your learning.

Gateway House

Nestled right in the heart of the city centre, just opposite Storyhouse and the City Hall, Gateway is the home of our Journalism, English and Creative Writing courses. With a media studio, Apple Mac lab and even its own radio station, Gateway is packed full of the facilities students need to develop their craft.

Explore, push boundaries, create, and innovate in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and collaborative environment where you will thrive and reach your full potential.

Our subject areas are spread across multiple campuses including:

After my classes, I really enjoy taking a scenic walk along the river or across the city walls –it’s very peaceful!

Partnership Accommodation

What Happens Next?

Here’s a quick guide to confirming your place and what happens before the start of term.

Responding to Offers

If you haven’t already, you’ll need to respond to your university offers. You can do this, and view your deadline for responding, via the UCAS Hub: accounts.ucas.com/account/login

Confirming Your Place

If your offer of a place is conditional, you’ll need to wait until you receive your exam results in the summer before your place is confirmed. If you have any queries or concerns in the meantime, just get in touch with our friendly Admissions Team: admissions@chester.ac.uk

Welcome Information

Between now and October you’ll receive regular updates from us about what you need to do each step of the way, so keep an eye on your emails! Your official ‘welcome’ email will be sent towards the end of August and will contain lots of important information about your induction to the University.

Apply for Accommodation and Finance

Both accommodation and finance are now open and we encourage you to apply as soon as you can. You can find more information about both, including deadlines, accommodation options and the scholarships and bursaries availible on our website.

Welcome Week

For most courses, Welcome Week will start on Monday 6th October. Please note, some teaching may begin prior to this date. We will be in touch soon with more information. Attendance is essential for:

• Completing key tasks like enrolment to officially join the University.

• Meeting your Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) and attending academic induction sessions.

• Making friends, building connections, and settling into university life.

• Learning about Chester and joining our vibrant community.

The full list of events will be available on our Student Shout Out platform in August, including social activities and fairs hosted by Chester Students’ Union and the University. These events offer great opportunities to connect with fellow students, join sports teams and societies and, of course, pick up plenty of freebies!
