I hope this gorgeous April Issue finds you all well.

What a year this has already been, now feels like there is no better time to re-explore the magic and wonder that is Mother Earth.

As we dive into this month’s theme I am reminded of how important our connection to the planet is. Our cravings for the soothing sound of the ocean and the strength we find in the grounding of the earth has become ever more apparent to humanity as that freedom and connection are withdrawn from us Nature and its wildness have so many lessons to teach us as humans, from its raging seas to the jungles and the deserts, all in their own little ecosystems. Much like our collective consciousness at the moment. Neither wrong nor right. All simple doing what is right for them and their surroundings.

However you are connecting with the earth at the moment, I invite you to maybe explore a new way of connecting with her energy or a new routine outside daily. Explore a new sacred site, meditate on the beach, hug a tree or maybe just take your morning cuppa out into the garden.

The birds are beginning to sing here in the UK. The faintest hint of Spring’s promise has pushed through the ground and it feels as though she brings with her not only hope but a message. You may just find you can hear her whisper a little louder than usual as she wakes from her winter slumber, I feel she has a lot to say.

I'm tired of it all if I'm honest. I have lost friends and family over all past year and as much as I know everything is happening for a reason I am still hurting. Being awake today can feel super lonely - many of us are burned out from feeling like we're talking to a wall. but what if our purpose wasn't to "beat the drum" as much as it's to simply live by an awakened example?

Connecting with others who feel the same way on this journey not only fills up my cup, but gives me the strength and courage to shine my light. it takes the pressure off feeling like shifting to our new reality needs to be a fight, and confirms my gut feeling that it was never meant to be a battle. For me, the divide is a bit of a mismatch in energy, people in totally different energetic states, yet all are seeking love in their own way. I don't want to go back to sleep, and I don't feel the need to shake anyone else awake either. So, when that divide occurs or is made incredibly evident, maybe the answer is to come back to love, and that love may not be seeking it from outside, and it may not be from where we often seek it the most, from family. If one doesn't find it outside, one must generate it and seek it within. In that way, we don't need to convince anyone about our "side" of the divide. We have an opportunity to generate love energetically from deep within, then radiate it through our presence. We can get really intentional. Then we can just let go without expectation and see how things flow. Easier said than done, maybe, but this is how I've determined to approach it.- Jena R

This month our newest columnist Matthew Gardner shares with us how deep listening has become a key pillar of his life and practice. as a leader.

There is an old Cherokee proverb ‘Listen, or Your Tongue Will Make You Deaf”. It’s truer than I ever gave it credit for.

My partner Shannon is short, often softly spoken. She is also deeply aware at a felt sense level of the subtleties, distortions and undercurrent social dynamics that often pass unnoticed by others, myself included.

She holds a gentle magic.

It’s the magic of presence, love and genuine care.

I’ve met many Magdalenas now in my travels; women that hold an embodied vibrational and archetypal natural mirroring of Mary Magdalene and her Kristic sisters. In a sea of humans flowering in their true essence, The Magdalenas are the pink roses; gentle, beautiful and purifying.

Whether this embodiment has emerged through lineage or is simply a unique flowering of pure individual essence, one thing is undeniable; when Shannon places her hand on your chest in the space just in front of where your heart sits, you feel the vibrations of soft purifying love echoing out through your entire body; a rippling of divine truth holding your being.

I’ve often joked half-heartedly with Shannon in our 2 years together, that if she did nothing other than place her hand on hearts as her service work for the rest of her life, then she could rest easy knowing she had done more than enough.

She holds a gentle magic. It’s the magic of presence, love and genuine care.

There was a time in my life when I didn’t listen to the Shannon’s of the World; when the quiet voices, and subtle beings seemed to hold no value for me, and so for years the magical messages and teachings that are only spoken by those who spoke in whispers entirely alluded me.

It wasn’t just the women like Shannon either. I didn’t ever truly listen to the elders, the cultural teachers, those who held religious or spiritual beliefs that differed from my own or whose core archetypal embodiments were different to my own.

Instead I fixated on the loudest, proudest and biggest voices; those who roared with the most fierceness. These voices were often found on stages, in best-selling books and were widely celebrated. They represented such a narrow and incomplete view of reality; nowhere in their shouts was there anything that even mildly resembled the ancient truths in the whispers of the Magdalen’s.

My approach to listening, learning and evolving back then was a mirror of the social and governmental philosophies I was born into.

While it wasn’t really all that clear at the time when I reflect back now I can clearly see the ideologies at play, that underpinned this old paradigm I was so indoctrinated into; Success at all cost, growth means dominating and controlling nature and reality itself, and the persistent over-emphasis of ‘pushing through’ rather than ‘being with’.

When Shannon came along I found myself perhaps for the first time in my life listening to, and receiving the, whispered ideologies and philosophies of the embodied feminine.

It was a time of mammoth initiation and a deep humbling for me as I came to truly realise just how deeply invested in a distorted system I had become, even as someone considered to be a 'successful leader' 15 years deep in my journey as an industry voice, speaker and Coach.

It was the kind of humbling that remakes a person. Truly my life, my embodiment and what I stand for, and speak to now has matured so profoundly; all thanks to a short woman, with a soft voice, big eyes, deep care, and a loving touch.

These days I’m humbled almost daily as I connect with and deeply listen to hundreds of elders, cultural teachers and beings whose archetypal makeup is different to my own. Some whisper, some shout, but all hold a key piece of the puzzle for me and indeed for humanity.

That old Cherokee Saying is ever-present with me now as I listen more than I speak, and carry with me wherever I go, that not only do you need the piece I hold, but I need the piece you hold.

The return of

SPRING...

We join Breathwork healer Kathy Bell for some poetry & reflection upon springs arrival.

The air was crisp, and the sun was warm.

It was welcomed with a joyous, happy heart.

She knew that the new dawn was here.

An open and loving heart.

The familiar but forgotten feeling: New life.

New promise.

New hope.

For the first time in months, The suns rays could be felt upon her pale skin.

The fauna was bustling and busy.

The bird song was louder, chattier: pressing.

The empty branches; a reminder of the winter past, yet the suns radiant rays gave her permission to hope.

The hue of the sky was richer and deeper. A shade of blue that softens the heart.

The Magical and otherworldly weaving of Spring was here.

Mother Earth was stirring.

Her comforting cyclic dance happening over and over, And over, And over, And over.

Until the end of time…

Yet this Cyclic dance isn't just a wonderful sensory show.

It isn't just the coming of the bluebells or the return of the light.

The Mothers Cyclic dance unlocks codes and wisdom in us.

OUR CONNECTION TO Earth Are we connected to mother earth? The wonderful Rumi once said “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.

Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

It has been a long standing belief of mine, that in doing just that changing ourselves - we do change the world. Heal yourself and you heal the ‘world’ around you, but what does that have to do with our connection to the universe, our connection to mother earth.

We explore our connection to the earth with Hypnotherapist Lisa.

Science is finally beginning to catch up to the knowledge held by mystics, shamans and ancient civilisations in relation to intuition, energy healing, the benefits of plants, essential oils and all things ‘woo woo’. Noetic science is an amazing new field exploring all things previously considered for the crazy hippies.

I am one such crazy hippie, however the science of things has always fascinated me.

Personally I am not reliant on science, my intuition has always taught me what I need to know.

Science does help sceptics understand things better, and I like all things to be balanced, so a healthy dose of scepticism is required in some cases.

The name of our planet Mother Earth is perfect because every second she births life. Whatever her name in your culture, Gaia, Papatūānuku or Great Goddess, it is accepted across all religions and cultures that the earth is personified as a woman or rather a Goddess.

Ancient civilisations and astrologers have long since believed that the Earth goes through cycles and that those cycles were influenced by the alignment of different planets.

They believed that those alignments affected what happens here on earth. They believed that Mother Earth's ages of past and ages of future have and will be influenced by the planetary alignments at that time.

The Earth and the human body are not dissimilar in nature.

But what if we also play a large part. The Earth and the human body are not dissimilar in nature.

The Earth is predominantly water, which runs across its surface, linked and intertwined to bring life to the entire planet. It’s ecosystems and life, would work in perfect harmony, if only humans got out of its way.

The human body is predominantly water and has such a complex and magnificent ecosystem we forget how similar we are to the trees and the earth.

The human body is so advanced, complex and miraculous in its construction, that we don’t even understand most of it. It is perfect in design and like mother earth able to completely heal itself if once again we would only get out of its way.

Why do I make this connection between Mother Earth and the human body? Just as every tree in the forest is connected through a complex natural wifi system and plugged into Mother Earth herself.

I believe that we are all connected to each other through a similar wifi system, meaning we too are connected to Mother Earth.

Fire, riots, pandemic. As the collective fear from an unknown illness grew, this spread like wildfire across the planet. The more fearful people became the more angry, hostile and aggressive.

The Earth responded and we have had extremes in weather and extreme spikes in the Schumann resonance. I believe that our electromagnetic fields all circulate the chakras of the planet to create the electromagnetic field of the earth.

I BELIEVE THAT OUR ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS ALL CIRCULATE THE CHAKRAS OF THE PLANET.

The Earth is surrounded by an electromagnetic field. Our bodies, our hearts emit an electromagnetic charge creating an electromagnetic field around our body. Or as it is known in many cultures, the aura - the body's energy field.

We know that our energy is affected by others; we don’t need science to tell us that. When you spend time with certain people they lift you up and you come away feeling as if your body, your energy field is vibrating. Others unfortunately leave you drained and exhausted.

As if being around them has taken energy from you.

Mother Earth is no different. Look at the events of 2020.

What the collective consciousness of the planet is, affects that field and also influences events and ages.

What happened during the beginning of the first lockdown when people went into their homes, got out of the way of Mother Earth and turned their attention to the simple pleasures, the gratitude’s of life. Mother Earth began to heal and to flourish. She blossomed and the healing began.

We cannot change the outside influences, the effects of the media, we cannot illuminate fear in the world. However, we can connect to ourselves, to Mother Earth and heal both. In healing ourselves, we help in healing this Great Goddess we call home.

Below is a simple exercise you can do to help you connect to Mother Earth and help raise the frequency of that electromagnetic field. If there are only two measurable emotional signatures, love and fear. Imagine what they do to that field around the earth and if this is truly the age of Aquarius we have a responsibility to choose love.

You can do this as an exercise by going out into your garden or a patch of grass near your home or if you live in a block of flats in a city go there with your imagination. This exercise will start by assuming you are already on grass.

If you are going here in your imagination start by simply closing your eyes and imagine doing the steps below.

Take your shoes/socks off and feel your bare feet connecting to the earth.

Take a moment to connect to your breath, breathing in and breathing out.

Drop into your heart centre.

You can do this by focusing your attention there as the breath comes in and the breath goes out.

Imagine a golden light coming down through the top of your head and moving through your body down into the souls of your feet.

Feel your feet on the ground.

Pay attention to the sensation of your soles against the soft grass.

Now imagine that golden light turning into roots and going deep down into the earth connecting to all that is and all that has been. Feel that connection coming up through your body.

Breathe in the knowledge, the power, the philosophy or Mother Earth, Gaia, the Great Goddess and just allow that connection to all that is and all that has been.

Breathe in and out as long as you need. Repeat daily.

Let’s take the lesson of Rumi and transform it - Raise your vibration in turn, raise the vibration of Mother Earth, this beautiful planet we call home.

The person I was created such a tension in me, I was totally dissatisfied with her.

She had hang ups, she didn’t make great choices, she couldn’t formulate words to express how she felt, she lived in a state of terror, terror at being rejected and not accepted.

She lived the life of a chameleon, shape-shifting to suit others.

She didn’t speak up to defend herself, instead allowing people to use her as their scapegoat, and she let them.

The fear of even the unkindest of people rejecting her always running the show.

Her life was hanging on that one goal, being accepted by others.

Being seen by others.

Being needed by others.

Being part of a ‘something’.

All the while the person she wanted to be she already was.

She always had been.

Peaceful mind.

Open heart.

Living free from the need to be accepted by others.

Embracing all of life.

Knowing the limitless opportunities available to her.

A burning flame of courage glowing inside, stepping over fear towards where her heart was leading her.

The version she had created and was living out silenced her true self.

The moment I decided to be true to myself, the person I wanted to be flowed to the top.

My inner Goddess.

The fearless, courageous, worthy, light, powerful, peaceful, awakened true version of me and of all women.

Katie Brockhurst, the Social Media Angel and author of Social Media For A New Age, shares her thoughts on online life for us Untamed types covering the latest news and predictions in spiritual social media and digital wellbeing.

Ever had a thought of something random, that you never mentioned to anyone, then turn up as an advert in your Facebook or Insta newsfeed? Or did you find a certain brand of nut butter in the back of the fridge and get an ad for it later that day?

My friend Jo did! Some may say that it’s simply a coincidence or that their 5D to Digital D connection is super strong, or that they might have accidentally swallowed some nano-bots owned

by Zuckerborg or Bezos which is now connecting their thoughts to the internet… But seriously, sometimes it's insanely spooky so how do they do it?

Some ads that show up are not so surprising, such as when my PT messaged me on Facebook Messenger telling me to bring my kettlebell to the park… Lo and behold my newsfeeds were full of

adverts for them within the hour.

And if you check out the privacy of the various messenger apps we use, then hands down Facebook Messenger is the one getting all the latest intel on your life via your phone and sharing that with their advertisers.

They also say that the data knows us better than we know ourselves, which is scary, and probably true, when you think about it. With sooooo many data points based on our day to day online activity, where social media meets Google meets Amazon et al, advertisers are able to predict with precision what we may want to purchase, right now and into the future. For anyone interested in exploring this more deeply, I highly recommend any interviews with Shoshana Zubof, or her book, Surveillance Capitalism.

At the moment data is being collected everywhere, just think about how many times you have to accept cookies and tracking, each time you visit a new website…

And when you delve into what they are tracking, it’s alarming. It is the new gold after all.

So I wanted to write this article as a bit of a warning, as, “we ain’t seen nothing yet, oooh baby, no, we ain’t seen nothing yet…”

As we move through the ’20s there is going to be a rise in surveillance in a number of different guises.

In the workplace, there are actually proposals to monitor staff’s emotions as well as performance, through tech.

Microsoft have actually filed a patent for tech to monitor employees' body language and facial expressions during work meetings.

Spotify is creating a new way of recommending tracks to you, based on your emotion, by listening to your tone of voice.

Is this the stuff dystopian nightmares are made of? Or are they digital integration dreams come true? What's your view?

Well get ready to think about it, as we will also see ‘Smart Glasses’ dropping in 2022-23 by Google, Facebook, Amazon and Apple, for an integrated, augmented reality world approach to life on planet Earth, where smart cities, driverless cars and warehouses run by robots could be the norm come 2030.

And what about VR - Virtual Reality? Zuck is calling it “the next computing platform”. He would do, he has invested billions into Facebook Horizon and Occulus headsets.

What does this all mean for surveillance capitalism? What does it mean for us? It will certainly mean a boom in new ways to capture data, and that means more profits for companies such as Facebook, Amazon et al. And there will be massive privacy challenges and questions as people become walking CCTV cameras.

However we just need to think about Siri, Alexa and Jarvis and everything they already been collecting and connecting.

There are a few different ways we can protect our data from AI’s spying eyes and ears. First of all, we have a choice whether or not we adopt some of these new technologies. We can also get more informed as to what data is gathered by whom and how we interact and use those platforms and services and when. Or we can simply switch off the internet, the wifi, 4G and 5G, at certain times, or leave the house without a connected device, which I would highly recommend during your day.

You can also try leaving platforms like Facebook and moving to Telegram, Mighty Networks and MeWe or going from WhatsApp to Signal. Use search engines such as Duck Duck Go instead of Google. And move from Google Mail to Proton Mail.

Other things to try are checking your privacy settings, and switching off things like location services. You can also go into Facebook’s ad settings and start checking who is using your data to send ads to you. One pretty neat trick I have come up with, which I appreciate I have the privilege to be able to do, is to have two smartphones - my old iPhone 6 is now connected to big tech and stays in the house, which I use for social media. It doesn’t have private information on there, web browsing, bank info etc. and I don’t use it when I am out and about.

One interesting thing I have noticed through conversations on this topic is that the women I speak to find it much more disturbing and invasive than the men, who find personalised ad’s quite handy and that they save time. Women, well, we seem to find it quite creepy and annoying.

One friend even suggested that maybe we didn’t like it because it feels like being stalked by a guy; pßerhaps surveillance capitalism is patriarchy in action on some level.

Food for thought! Come what may, data and surveillance is big business and will become a bigger issue and hopefully topic for debate this decade, as we wake up and wise up to what the technocracy are dreaming of.

And just in case you want to know more about that, start looking into the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset

I shall save that topic for another time, but in the meantime, please protect your digital devices, spaces and places as much as you can. And think more about what, where and how you are sharing your private and personal information with these apps and corporations and how they might be being used that on the other side of the screen.

Connecting to the earth is one of the most powerful ways to access intuition and nourish your soul. Nature is a key element of self-care. There is often a lot of buzz about self-care being represented by things like mani’s and pedi’s, but that’s all it is...buzz.

If you are reading this, you know the power of connection to your soul. This is where self-care lives.

'YOU KNOW THE POWER OF CONNECTION TO YOUR SOUL' Do you ever notice that when you go outside and spend time in nature you feel recharged? I do.

I find the magnetic force of our earth so healing.

It's not complicated. It can be simple. Breathing fresh air outside can be enough to recalibrate your system.

One of my favourite self-care practices is nature sitting. It’s simple and that’s where the magic happens. You can do it anywhere in nature. I often do it in my backyard because it’s easy and I love watching the flourishing trees. It always has a message for me.

This practice is simple. But it is not always easy and it does take time. So allow at least 30 mins but I recommend 1 hour or more.

Find your perfect patch in nature and do nothing for an hour. If you need to, set a timer and leave your phone away from you. Otherwise have nothing with you, no books, no phones, no food, no distractions.

This is your practice of being.

You can let your thoughts wander.

It is not about stopping them.

Take in your environment. Doing nothing can sometimes feel challenging when we live such busy lives, but we need it. Our soul craves it. I love to meditate but sometimes I find nature sitting can be more powerful.

It’s your direct connection to your soul. Married with the powerful energy of nature surrounding you, it opens you up to your higher self.

The soul downloads I have had through nature sitting have been mind-blowing.

I invite you to persist with this, do it daily if you can. If an hour feels too much, then start smaller but do it with the intention of building up to 1 hour. Ask people to support you with time. If you need someone to watch your kids get it organised. Don't let anyone disturb you - making this commitment to yourself in itself is powerful.

Let me say it again. Set yourself up for success (soul connection) before you start, by planning ahead. Ensure you have that hour to yourself and commit to it.

This will be your time for soul.

I’d like to share something different this month. Maybe it feels like a month where tools aren't going to cut it. Or perhaps it’s just a good time for me to trust my intuition and share my experience with life right now.

The only way I can describe how I'm feeling is as if I tell you I am swimming along a river, close to the river bank. I can see that the flow of the river a little further away from the side looks appealing. There feels to be some level of resistance where I am right now but over there where I am looking it appears to be much calmer. The trouble is though the water looks murky. It’s dark. I cannot see if there are any dangers but it sure as hell looks like It would take less energy to move and just BE in that space.

It’s funny you see, we never fully know what the right action is until we’ve committed. Even then are there ever any right or wrong actions? Or just opportunities to explore and learn more about ourselves and life.

For me sometimes the resistance feels more comforting than the unknown. Perhaps in the unknown the resistance is actually stronger and I could potentially make things more difficult for myself. On the other hand, the unknown might open up an opportunity to really enjoy the river in a whole new way.

Have you ever noticed that even when something feels right there is still some level of fear popping up?

Right now I know what feels right but my mind wants to explore the endless possibilities of “what ifs”. On the other hand my feelings are telling me that this feels like my truth. You see it’s strange to feel like there is an internal battle between parts of me but somewhere centred in the middle I’m observing all of these different systems and parts of me trying to protect me, keep me safe, push me and align me to what’s for me!

Learning to navigate the different parts of me and integrate them into a holistic system and approach to life can be tricky sometimes.

One moment I can fully trust and feel an immense amount of faith and the next moment I feel like a fish out of water and nothing makes logical sense.

Here is to the Endless Possibilities...

I don’t believe I am the only one navigating murky waters right now. With so many awakening and stepping into our power.

I don’t believe I am the only one deciding whether it feels safer close to the river bank where the resistance feels somewhat familiar or whether to take a big fat deep breath and move further away from the bank to discover what else the river has in store for me.

April 22nd is Earth Day. This year the theme is ‘Restore our Earth’.

Earth day seeks to shine a spotlight on our earth and how we protect it.

We can all do something to help if you have space, plant a tree!! But even placing a couple of pots with bee-friendly plants by your front door or planting some beefriendly seeds in the front garden will help. It may not seem much, but it will add to the all-important nectar corridors – think of your pots as a motorway service station for Bees!

Crystals are a gift from Mother Earth herself. What beautiful gifts, formed from different raw materials and subjected to various levels of heat and cooling, there they sit, waiting for us to discover them. There are crystals that will help you to connect both with nature and Mother Earth herself, helping you to put your own roots firmly into the ground. Here are some of my favourites:For gardeners I would recommend Green Moss Agate and Tree Agate, both these crystals will help you cultivate your plants and produce better crops. They are also calming crystals, helping soothe the stress and anxieties of life. My favourite is Green Moss Agate with its mix of greens & blues.

Crystals are a gift from Mother Earth herself.

Aquamarine Aquamarine is the sea in crystal form! It is known as Mermaids Treasure, the mermaids kept it locked away in their treasure chests at the bottom of the sea and who can blame them!! A protective stone, looking after you when you are close to water, be it learning to swim or on a cruise!!

Bumble Bee Jasper is a beautiful stone formed inside volcanoes. This explains its ability to bring you courage and step out of your comfort zone. Full of positive life energies – think about the sheer raw life-force that is contained in a volcano and put it into a stone!

Red Jasper is a grounding protective stone, a common stone but don’t dismiss it.

Often used as a protective Amulet and will keep you securely rooted to the earth, removing energy blocks and allowing you to feel the positive energies beneath your feet.

The fact is all of us have some kind of inner knowing, or “6th sense”. In fact, one of the best facts that I learned….ever…is that the Ancient Egyptians believed that humans have 360 senses, not just 5. To me this points how we can know things without knowing why…because our bodies tell us! So there is absolutely no question that we ALL have some type of psychic gift.

Begin by t rying to identify what your gift is.

Are you:

Clairvoyant (clear seeing) i.e., do you have visions; Claircognizant (clear knowing) i.e. do you just KNOW things ; ClairAudient (clear hearing) do you hear things; Clair Empathy (clear feeling) do you feel others emotions; Clair Sentient (clear feeling) do you feel energy?

There are many more clairs than just these 5, but these are the most common and easy to identify.

We discover these different “clairs” or combinations of them through questioning. When I was trained as an intuitive, this is where I started. In our class, we would choose someone to read and our instructor would go through a series of questions. We would then write down whatever answers came to us.

Some of the questions included:

Do you hear words?

Is there an image?

Is there a smell?

Is there a taste?

Is there a touch or tactile sensation?

Does a picture come into your head?

Is there a season or time of year?

Is there a location?

Is there anything else I should know?

Practice writing these questions down along with any answers that you receive. You won’t receive answers to all of them, but a few will come.

Pay attention to things that you are attracted to, or things that capture your attention, like animals or numbers.

These could be messages from your Spirit Guides. For instance, if a bird (great spiritual messengers) seems to catch your attention, or if you look at the clock and notice the time is 1:11 or 2:22, or any number that catches your eye, don’t dismiss it. Instead, Look up the symbolism of such things online. If it’s a number, your search term would be “angel number___”, if it’s an animal, your search term is “________symbolism”.

Finally…don’t be afraid to be wrong. Sometimes the messages that you receive make absolutely no sense to you. They may make sense later or they will make sense to the person you are reading.

When you are unafraid to be wrong, you’ll find out what it feels like to be right, and this will help you build confidence in your skills!

When you are connecting with Angels you do not need to remember their names or what they do. If you need help, healing, or courage, you can just ask for the Angel of whatever you need to be with you.

You can never get it wrong even if you use the “wrong’ title. The Angels want us to lighten up and have fun with them; not to take things too seriously! But getting to know them a little better will draw them closer.

There are many Angels, and also many Archangels. Archangels oversee a band of Angels that come on the same ray of light as they do. Holding the same vibration.

All Angels can be in many places at many times. So if you call on one, never worry that you are taking them away from someone else.

Archangel Gabriel is the messenger Angel; said to be the Angel who visited Mother Mary.

I always feel the beautiful presence of this Angel as feminine, although Angels are androgynous; not male or female.

As you get used to connecting with them, you may sense their presence as masculine or feminine.

I call upon Archangel Gabriel when I’m writing or when I am doing Angel card readings.

The Angels send messages in many ways; you may turn the radio on to the same song, which holds a message for you.

Messages on billboards, or words on pages that stand out. I have even received a divine message from graffiti on a bus. Trust your instinct. When it feels like a message for you, it is!

You can call on Archangel Gabriel to help with any communication. If you are in need of help speaking your truth, this Angel can surround you with her beautiful golden white light and fill you with courage and grace. When you call upon Archangel Gabriel, you feel a true sense of peace.

You may want to have a pen and paper handy so you can write anything down. You can also write out any questions that you have.

Now that you are in your sacred space take a deep relaxing breath.

As you inhale, breathe in a golden light, as you exhale breathe out any stress or tension from your body.

Following the sound of your breath, continue to breathe deeply, bringing yourself into this present moment and allowing the golden light to expand from your heart.

Sending this golden light around your entire body, with each breath you take you are feeling more relaxed and comfortable.

See this golden light expand around you until it fills the room.

Feel your heart open as Archangel Gabriel stands before you, within a bright white light.

As I was pondering what to show you this month, Adams Calendar a beautiful ancient stone circle in South Africa came into my mind.

I had the privilege of visiting this sacred site a couple of years ago whilst learning to work with the Earth energies. As I started doing my research today to see what I could share about the history of this magnificent site I ran into a whole bunch of articles about people fighting about the age and origin of this amazing site and it reminded me again that I need to share with you what I felt when I visited, and not necessarily the various truths about it from a third dimensional perspective.

As I walked to the site that morning in the dark with the group, we were all in silence.

I just knew something within wanted to be released.

It was before sunrise and I had just experienced the biggest coughing fit ever. I knew something within wanted to be released and as the tears streamed down my face I started walking faster towards the circle.

Our tour leader asked us all to make our way in from the North and then go on our own journeys as we entered the sacred circle. I waited until everyone was in and busy then stood at the entrance and asked to be shown what I needed to see. As I stood there, I was shown how I needed to go to every single stone that was placed on the four directions – North first, then East, South next and then West. Then I would move to the center of the circle. As I deeply connected with each stone, I could feel the energies rising out of the earth, bit by bit.

Our lives are like a journey through this sacred circle. The stone in the North represented my deep fears and desires, the stone in the East showed me how I wasn’t connecting to my truth.

The stone in the South was gentle and loving, helping me to forgive and heal my deep wounds. Then as I moved to the West, I felt her rising again, my Divine Priestess self wanted to take her power back and speak her voice with an open heart.

And then eventually as I sat down in the middle of the circle and connected with the centre stone, I saw how under my feet the vortex of energy was starting to spin. The earth was concentrating the energy beneath the ground and opening me up to receiving.

As I sat there looking at the magical colours beneath me slowly sucking me in, I could feel my heart opening.

I saw how under my feet the vortex of energy was starting to spin, the earth's energy was opening me up to receiving.

Again the tears rolled down my face as I was reminded of the deep connection that we have with Mother Earth if we allow ourselves to open our hearts.

I was reminded of the wisdom that we have access to within ourselves and within the great Mother.

And as we all journey through our magical circles, completing one spiral after another, every single circle brings us back closer to ourselves. Reminding us that our truth matters and that our deepest desires are important.

If you look back at your circle, where are you now? Are you resisting a part of you or are you going to move through it supported by your Soul and this gorgeous planet that we all love so much….

Introduction to Chakras You may be familiar with the word chakras, or the imagery of the coloured points along a body outline but what are they and what relevance do they have for us and our modern lives?

This month starts a series on chakras, empowering you to identify imbalances and address them with simple holistic tools.

Let’s start with what chakras are....

The word chakra comes from sanskrit and is often translated as "wheel". According to ancient Eastern traditions, we have 7 main chakras, energy wheels that propel energy through the body. It is believed that when they are functioning in a balanced way, our prana (or life force) can travel freely through the body. When they are out of balance, we may experience behavioural, physical and emotional symptoms associated with the unbalanced energy of the particular chakra.

How do we balance our Chakras?

How do we support our chakras and find balance?

A holistic approach to supporting our chakras will consider mind, body and soul in both the way that imbalances show up and how we might support our healing.

Mind - Imbalances may show up in our emotions, limiting beliefs, repeating patterns of thought or behaviour.

Body - Imbalances may start to manifest as issues in our physical body, usually in areas closest to the related chakra.

Soul - We can feel disconnected from our spiritual nature when we are unbalanced, lacking purpose and faith.

Whatever the clues are that you need a bit of support in your energy balance there are plenty of holistic tools to help, over the coming months we will look at these specifically to each chakra.

Yoga & Meditation Yoga poses for chakras tend to target the area of the body where the chakra is positioned, to stimulate it and draw your awareness to it. We also work with poses for any physical or emotional symptoms of an imbalance.

For example, if the symptom is anxiety then we can calm the nervous system with yoga poses that activate the parasympathetic nervous system.

Guided meditations can help us to bring awareness to the chakra and visualise our energy flowing freely and will often utilise either the sound or colour associated with the chakra.

Healing crystals In their simplest application, crystals that match the associated chakra colours can bring awareness and aid visualisation of a chakras energy.

Much like the yoga poses, crystals will have healing properties to support any of the associated manifestations of an imbalance.

Aromatherapy Diluted down appropriately, essential oils can be applied directly to the relevant point on the body close to a related chakra or used aromatically and are especially powerful in aiding emotional shifts.

Positive affirmations Affirmations can not only act as a tool for self-inquiry to look deeply at our beliefs associated with a chakra but also as a way of rewiring our brain and fostering more positive beliefs.

Our ‘True North’ or Knowing...

We are all searching for our True North – our purpose or dharma. We are all trying to find out what our ‘True North’ is. That mythological one thing that makes this short, sometimes painful life thing worth it, somehow.

As a leader, spiritual or corporate, or as a parent, it is your role to help people find it for themselves. You do not have to be a modern-day guru, a Life Coach or a Prime Minister to inspire and change the lives of others. What you have to be is yourself, and to make sure that means something REAL to other people. And not simply a façade on social media whichever platform you choose to be on. Nobody expects you to be perfect, but they do expect you to lead. This can be a scary prospect.

However, if you trust in your innate wisdom, show empathy and compassion, you may falter but never fail. You can lead by example and from the heart.

Personally, I’ve been searching for my purpose for years, and was feeling frustrated with my findings. Until I sat in meditation one random Tuesday morning and a download hit me in my heart chakra - my purpose was simply to be the best version of me and how I was going to achieve that was to embrace ME in all my weird glory. No apologies!

As Brené Brown, (Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts) so eloquently wrote: “We are not here to fit in, be well balanced, or provide exempla for others.

We are here to be eccentric, different, perhaps strange, perhaps merely to add our small piece, our little clunky, chunky selves, to the great mosaic of being. As the gods intended, we are here to become more and more ourselves.”

By being our true selves, in all the messy glory, we need to step in, sink deep or listen to the Knowing. The Knowing is that quiet place within ourselves that holds our magic, releases judgement and is a space of bliss.

It is a ‘time-out’ zone for creation and reassurance. I go there daily in mediation.

As Glennon Doyle expressed so poetically: ‘HOW TO KNOW: Moment of uncertainty arises.

Breathe, turn inward, sink.

Feel around for the Knowing.

Do the next thing it nudges you toward. Let it be. (Don’t explain.)

Repeat forever. (For the rest of your life: Continue to shorten the gap between the Knowing and the doing.)’ No Cardinal compass point will lead you to yourself.

Listen to your heart – for Soul knows best!

Recently, when asked what I do, I have started including “writer” in my list of occupations. Having contributed to a couple of published books, numerous blogs and articles, and with 30,000 words of my debut novel under my belt, I feel confident enough to add “writer” to my cv too.

Every time I say it, or put it out there on my bio, I feel a little frisson of excitement, a gentle warm glow, and it makes me smile.

For years I have simply written when my muse nudged me, but I have now established a writing habit. Currently I have set myself a target of 300 words a day. Not a huge target, but it is not about how many words I set on paper, it is all all about the discipline. Most days I write more than 500 words. It happens because I make the time each day to commit to writing.

There are certain conditions that need to be met in order for me to “prepare” to write. I need to be warm. I need a glass of water to hand. After years of trying to write in silence, I have found that I need some background noise – preferably not music, a hum of conversation works best for me.

(That may have something to do with having been in lockdown for a year). I write better in the morning.

Of course, all these things, that have become part of my regular writing routine, are also part of my procrastination routine! Along with checking the dogs are ok, making a cup of tea, checking Facebook and email…and so on and so forth!

Part of today’s delaying tactics for writing this column was wondering what tricks or routines famous and successful writers employ, to ensure they meet their writing targets. So I engaged with that other great procrastination tool – Google.

One of my favourite authors, Maya Angelou (1928–2014) would leave her apartment at 6 a.m. and go to a tiny bare hotel room until 2 p.m. to write. Taking with her a legal pad, a dictionary, Roget’s Thesaurus, a Bible, a deck of cards, and a bottle of sherry.

Charles Dickens always faced north while he slept, which he believed improved his creativity.

Dr Seuss had a huge collection of nearly 300 hats. When facing writer’s block, he would choose a hat to wear until he felt inspired.

Hunter S Thompson? Well let’s just say that alcohol, drugs and cigarettes featured very significantly in his daily routine!

John Steinbeck (1902–1968), author of such classics as The Grapes of Wrath, East of Eden, and Of Mice and Men was a complete master in the art of procrastination! He liked to write his drafts in pencil and always needed exactly two dozen perfectly sharpened pencils on his desk.

Amazingly, despite my expert avoidance, this column is now complete!

Admittedly I look a little ridiculous sitting here, facing north, wearing my favourite hat, sipping a glass of sherry, sharpening pencils…I drew the line at drugs!

You may be wondering what tips I have for your writing in this column this month. I think it is a reminder to never lose your sense of humour. Writing can be a serious business, but good habits, a little laughter, and a sense of the ridiculous can carry you through any dry spell!

SEX IS A POWERFUL COMBINATION OF ENERGY, VULNERABILITY AND EMOTIONS .

Sex is a powerful combination of energy, vulnerability and emotions. For some, talking about sex is taboo and rarely discussed while others can’t get enough. There are also those awkward moments speaking with a doctor about your physical body and filling out medical forms asking about your sexual history. Fun times.

The act of sex and connecting our bodies as one with another person literally connecting within each other is sacred and being inside of each others space

Sex

and point of creation is a very intimate experience. Being vulnerable and exposed. There is a very sacred exchange of energy happening whether you are consciously aware or not.

Connecting sexually with someone with both the intention of pleasure and expansion can be pure ecstasy. Combining the energy of the cosmos and harnessing that within our bodies during sex is essential.

For me, it is like sending out a love flair to the Universe. Not to mention all that sacred love and focused energy can help you heal yourself. Energetically when you are connecting to someone else, you want to have that energy flow. Blocks caused by un-forgiveness, self-doubt, insecurity, guilt and shame can stop the flow and create disease.

HOW CAN WE BECOME MORE INTENTIONAL WITH OUR LOVE MAKING? First create a sacred space to connect with your partner.

Set the mood with music, candles or whatever helps you make the space inviting.

Next focus your energy and attention on your breath.

Breathe deeply with your partner and relax in the moment. As you breathe start to focus on moving that energy from the base of your spine up to your crown creating a flow throughout your chakras.

Stay in the moment and focus your thoughts on this sacred time of love and intimacy. This will start the flow of energy and bring the mind, body and spirit together.

Now you are in the flow and creating love together. Try to stay in this love space as long as you can instead of rushing to finish.

When you are ready to release let all of that marvellous love and vitality continue throughout your body, mind and life.

If you are single and still in the process of manifesting your mate, you can still enjoy this sacred time with yourself.

The late Wayne Dyer said, “when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” I believe that when you change the way you think about sex, sex will change as well.

So, let’s make love not war and heal the world one sensual stroke at a time.

Our very own seasonal foraging expert and kitchen witch Jill Wheeler brings us her recipe for this month 'nettle tart'.

April, a month when spring is charging full-on in all its colourful glory. Fresh green leaves and blossom are starting to appear as the daffodils fade and tulips take centre stage. I love this time of year as there is plenty to forage and enough to make a meal from; plenty of wild greens to detox and cleanse the body with. April is an excellent month for the common stinging nettle.

Everyone is familiar with nettles. A pesky weed that makes you aware of its presence with a nasty sting.

However, nettle is so much more!

A much-underrated food source. Nettle is a powerhouse of nutrients; rich in Vitamins

A, C & E, B1, B2, B3 and B5.

Also rich in protein, calcium, iron, folate, potassium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, selenium and zinc. It is a powerful antioxidant of amino acids, polyphenols and pigments.

Every part of the nettle can be used in some way.

EVERY PART OF THE NETTLE CAN BE USED IN SOME WAY. The young leaves and seeds are edible and nutritious. The stems can be made into string or candle wicks, the roots used for medicinal purposes. There are many potential health benefits for consuming nettle, and for treating many ailments.

There is some precautionary advice, however. Pregnant ladies should avoid consumption as it may trigger uterine contractions.

Also, the sting can cause allergic reactions in some. People taking some medications are also advised to avoid stinging nettle, so it is wise to consult a doctor in these cases.

Precaution is required when collecting nettle leaves and seeds.

Long sleeves and thick gloves are a must and thick trousers to avoid being stung. Only the fresh top leaves should be harvested, and I was taught not to harvest beyond the summer solstice. As the nettles age, calcium oxalate crystals form on the leaves and this is a stomach irritant. You can cut back nettles if you have a patch in your garden so you can harvest fresh leaves regularly through the season.

Later in the season it is best to collect the seeds instead. They are fantastic for an energy hit and great in homemade bread or sprinkled into food when you feel a bit tired.

Nettles should be steamed or cooked to remove the sting. Give them a good soak in cold water before using. I steam my nettles then squeeze to remove excess water before chopping up and using them. They are great in soups, to make pesto or to replace spinach in recipes.

This month’s recipe is one of my favourite ways to enjoy them.

NETTLES "Quoye SHOULD BE STEAMED OR COOKED TO REMOVE THE STING, GIVE THEM A GOOD SOAK IN COLD WATER BEFORE USING THEM

Method...

INGREDIENTS: Jus Rol Puff Pastry

Clean your nettles then steam briefly.

Nettle tops (you will need a lot, think how much spinach reduces) – I use a basket full.

Squeeze out any excess water and chop up.

Feta cheese or similar (I love the vegan alternative as it melts when cooked)

Roll out the Puff Pastry and pop on a baking tray but leave the parchment paper under your pastry to avoid the pastry sticking when cooked.

Baby tomatoes Pesto Olive oil or rapeseed oil 3 cloves of garlic 3 shallots Salt and pepper

Use about a tablespoon of pesto and spread on the pastry.

In a little oil, fry off the garlic and onion and add the nettle.

Season with salt and pepper.

Spread the mixture out over the top of the pastry.

Add halved baby t omatoes and cube the feta and place on the tart (use as little or as much as you prefer).

Place in the oven around 200 degrees Celsius Bake until the puff pastry has risen around the edges and has turned a lovely golden colour.

Cut into pieces and serve with a wild greens’ salad.

Write your 12-month plan. Review or set your intentions for the year.

April’s Full Moon is a Pink Moon, so called because of the pink Phlox flowers that would start to bloom around this time and unfortunately, not because the moon appears pink in the sky.

This Pink Moon is also a Super Moon, which means the moon is closest to Earth and appears much larger in the sky.

This Super Pink Moon in Scorpio could not come at a better time, but the chances are it will be extremely intense. Scorpio can sometimes bring out our shadow side, and this means focusing on those parts of us we might not like to admit exist, but now is the time to look closely at those bits and allow them some healing and releasing. Write a list of areas of your life where you may have been acting out of jealousy, pride, fear, ego, or simply focusing too much negative energy and be honest. Feel into each one.

Forgive yourself. Release it.

Remember, rebirth and renewal is the name of the game.

MODERN LIFE We join Em Mulholland for her second column as she reflects on her recent adventures.

As I write this column, 2020 is in its last throes and I am feeling reflective about what a transformational year it’s been, not just on a personal level but a collective one, too. What I am witnessing across social media and within my own circles is that more and more people are viewing the world through a different lens – usually as a result of a catalyst in some shape or form occurring in their lives. It’s almost as though there is a mass unfurling of souls as individuals are stirring; thirsty for a richer, deeper experience of life on Mother Earth. For me, training as a Shamanic Practitioner has been that catalyst and whilst sometimes it feels like I am getting a metaphorical boot up the backside along the journey, the point remains that I am slowly but surely finding my way.

I began my training in January 2020 and was warned from the outset that it would not be an easy ride by any stretch of the imagination.

Three months in, the in-person education was disrupted by a global pandemic,

but despite the temporary absence of the monthly training days, the genie was well and truly out of the bottle and Spirit was not in the mood for any nonsense. The first lockdown saw me leaving my former life as a litigation lawyer – I say “former life” because law seems to be one of those careers that seeps into the fabric of your private world – and as it happened very abruptly, it was rather a shock to the system. It had been on the cards for a long time; I just couldn’t previously see a way out.

And so, it took a combination of needing to care for my son and the screaming voice of my instincts drowning out all rational thought to propel me into a void of sorts.

I have no doubt whatsoever that this was not coincidental in that it happened right after I stepped on to the shamanic path, and following this I was forced to take stock and finally feel into what I want to do with the remainder of my days.

Thankfully, my teacher had instilled in us early on how crucial observing and working with the ego is: I think I would be in a vastly different place mentally, emotionally and spiritually, had I not been furnished with a knowledge of how my muchmaligned ego would play a pivotal role in this situation. Whilst the ego has many positive functions (to my mind), it can also keep us small and act like a cheeky, mischievous gremlin who likes to whisper “you’re not good enough” – a grand master of self-sabotage, if you like. However, thanks to my training I am getting better at feeling those moments brewing and when they are, I now make a conscious effort to be still, talk to Spirit, get outdoors, and remind myself that imperfection is all a part of life.

If you are reading this, then I encourage you to keep unfurling because the world needs you that way. Spirit is dwelling in the wings, cheering you on.

HEALING THE WITCH WOUND

We gather round as Kimberley Jones explores her interpretation of the 'Witch Wound' Back in the February issue I introduced you to The Witch Wound, how I have been exploring it for over 20 years and how it affects our lives today.

This month I am going deeper.

I will look at how and why The Witch Wound appears to be centered in the throat chakra (according to thousands of my intuitive energy scans with clients), how that holds you back and how you can start to heal it.

For 300 years the witch hunts weaponised womxn’s voices, turning us against each other. It led to the deaths of thousands.

This has left many of us with a trauma passed down through generations (Epigenetics) and an inherited energy pattern that makes us afraid of the power of our own voice. We want to step up and speak out but are afraid of doing harm. I hear it regularly from clients and friends

the fear of both being harmed and of doing harm if they speak up, use their gifts and reveal their true selves.

Symptoms of the Witch Wound in the throat chakra can show up as: Heat and redness around the neck and throat when speaking publicly or standing up for yourself.

Your throat constricts if you share your feelings or reveal your gifts and beliefs.

You might get a sore throat or lose your voice after speaking your truth to someone.

You find it hard to connect with your intuition, express your feelings and almost never find the right words in the right moment to be assertive or set a boundary with someone who is overstepping.

How many times have you walked away from a conversation or conflict so frustrated because instead of finding the right thing to say, you froze? Only to get home and find ALL the perfect words suddenly flooding in as you stand ranting to yourself as you do the dishes!

A fully healthy throat chakra on the other hand might look like this: You feel free to be fully yourself and tell your truth without shame or censorship.

You trust yourself not to hurt others and feel safe to speak.

You are assertive, set healthy boundaries and ensure you get your needs met without manipulation or domination.

You are connected to the power of your voice to shape your reality and you use it for spells, rituals, ceremonies, affirmations, chanting and/or mantras.

Your Divine channel is open, weaving worlds and words together, speaking Light Language or channeling heartcentered wisdom.

You become a voice of social justice, speaking up against inequalities and using your power for the good of all, a hallmark of Goddess culture.

Tips for healing the Witch Wound in the throat chakra: Wear blue crystals near your throat.

Breathe blue light and energy into your throat.

Sing, chant, use mantras.

Journal your feelings and truth.

Lion’s breath and Thymus tapping.

Release anger safely. Scream into a pillow.

Neck stretches.

Sound healing.
