Lakewood Brewing Company, an independent Texas craft brewery known for their “seriously fun beer,” tapped into Dr. Lou Pelton’s Applied Marketing Problems class develop a new product brand concept and comprehensive marketing strategy for the company.

The college’s Sport Entertainment Management program is collaborating with Stadia Ventures, a global sports innovation hub for entrepreneurs, industry partners and investors headquartered in St. Louis.

For three consecutive years, a UNT student brought home first place in IBM’s Master the Mainframe challenge. Anna McKee, double-major in Computer Information Systems and Decision Sciences, won the competition twice, and was the first woman to ever take home first place.

The American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA) awarded the Casualty Actuarial Society Award to UNT Ryan College of Business Assistant Professor Jianren Xu. Xu was not only the first recipient of the award at UNT, but also the first in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.

Dr. Ananth Seetharaman, the inaugural Don and Donna Millican endowed chair in accounting, Dr. Ananth Seetharaman, Don and Donna Millican Chair in Accounting, was recognized by the editorial board of Financial Management for coauthoring one of the top three papers in their fall 2017 issue— and that same publication was also recognized as the top-cited paper of 2020.

UNT Accounting Professor Dr. Mary Curtis was honored with the Lifetime Service award for her contributions to the Accounting Information Systems (AIS) section of the American Accounting Association (AAA).

G. Brint Ryan (‘88, ‘88 M.S.), CEO of Ryan, a global tax services firm and software provider, who was named to Texas Monthly’s Top 25 Most Powerful People in Texas list. The college was named after him in 2019 when he and his wife, Amanda, donated $30 million, the largest gift in university history.

Undergraduates should visit www.goapplytexas.org or apply through the Common Application at commonapp.org. Submit your application by the March 1 priority date.

You are eligible to be admitted to the university if you meet one of the following criteria:
