Sale of unusual Buddha tops £30k

lots of Moorcroft pottery, mostly from one collection, including this garniture of three vases by William Moorcroft for James Macintyre. Decorated with cornflowers and poppies, they date to circa 1910 and are expected to bring around £3,000. The Swiss music box is fitted in an inlaid walnut table cabinet. It plays 36 airs or tunes on six interchangeable cylinders, with the last song on the sixth cylinder rather appropriately being Auld Lang Syne. Duke’s of Dorchester will be holding three auctions within the week commencing June 13. Beginning with the Asian Art Auction on June 15 at 10:30am, with previous Asian auctions seeing record results, most notably a millionpound teapot, it’s sure to be one to watch!
