Celtic Thunder returns to the heart of the song with carefully chosen Celtic gems including their first recording of “Grace”, “The Fields of Athenry”, “Step it Out Mary” and a dazzling a cappella arrangement of “Amazing Grace”. Damien McGinty, Emmet Cahill, Neil Byrne, and Ronan Scolard reflect on their personal odysseys with Laura Savini during interviews at the grand Gloster House in County Offaly.

Some days feel heavier than others, and there's often a lot to process. So, in the spirit of lifting your day a little, I wanted to share a heartening conversation I had recently with Maggie. She was deeply concerned about the future of PBS, especially in light of proposed federal funding cuts.
At the same time, she was glowing with enthusiasm about a program she'd just seen on the history of public libraries. Maggie called it “a joy” to watch and praised PBS for offering “so many good programs where you learn something new.” She had a genuine curiosity about how others think and feel, and she appreciated being able to “see the world through different perspectives.” “PBS has such informative, eye-opening programs like NOVA and SCOTLAND BY TRAIN that are accessible to everyone,” she said.
This kind of feedback isn’t unusual—in fact, it’s the norm. Here are a couple more comments, “I've been a member since 1978. I'm an educator and it's wonderful seeing the variety of programs.” “It’s like opening a treasure chest & finding many wonderful jewels. My favorite place to watch is PBS. Thanks for the great programs.” Jewels, I love that analogy!
Each day, we witness the meaningful impact of our work—the power of public media to inform, inspire, and bring people together. We are deeply grateful to every donor. Thank you for choosing to invest in Milwaukee PBS.
With appreciation,
Debbie Hamlett Vice President and General Manager

PBS's Black Nouveau will be attending Milwaukee's 54th Juneteenth celebration on the 19th, covering one of the oldest celebrations of this unique American holiday! We will be on the corner of MLK and Burleigh, so if you're planning to attend, stop by and let us know why Juneteenth is important to you! We will air some of your comments on our broadcast later that evening at 9PM on Channel 10.1.
Thanks to the Milwaukee Fire Department and the Engine 28 crew for including us in their community event in April. We were thrilled to visit with nearly 80 students from St. Rose Elementary’s first, second and third grades classes. We sent each student home with a PBS KIDS activity backpack filled with WILD KRATTS, NATURE CAT and ELINOR WONDERS WHY resources to encourage them to explore outdoors and journal what they see.

In an exciting reimagining of one of the BBC’s best loved factual shows, each episode of WALKING WITH DINOSAURS will tell the dramatic story of an individual dinosaur whose remains are currently being unearthed by the world’s leading dinosaur hunters. Thanks to cuttingedge science, experts can reveal how these prehistoric creatures lived, hunted, fought and died more accurately than ever before. As the dinosaur’s bones emerge from the ground, the series will bring these prehistoric stories to life with state-of-the-art visual effects – making each episode a gripping dinosaur drama based on the very latest evidence.
Across the six episodes, audiences will meet a range of spectacular dinosaur species in an array of prehistoric landscapes. These include a Spinosaurus – the largest carnivorous dinosaur to ever walk the earth – roaming the rivers of ancient Morocco; a youthful Triceratops battling a ravenous T. rex in North America; and a lonely giant Lusotitan risking it all for love in Portugal.
There’s never been a better time to travel back to the prehistoric. We’re living through a golden age of palaeontology that is transforming our understanding of dinosaurs. Around 50 new species are being identified every year, and science is revealing extraordinary new details about dinosaur biology and behaviour. Across the globe, hundreds of dinosaur experts are currently scouring the wilds for new dig sites, and this series has exclusive access to some of the very best.
Jack Bootle Head of Specialist Factual commissioning at the BBC said: “A whole new generation of viewers is about to fall in love with
Step into the world of six iconic dinosaurs and uncover their gripping stories of love, loss, and survival. Blending the latest discoveries from across the globe and cutting-edge CGI, experience these magnificent giants walking the Earth once more.
Begins 5/16, 7PM 10.1
WALKING WITH DINOSAURS. The original series was one of the most exciting factual shows of all time, and this reinvention builds on that amazing legacy. Each episode is underpinned by the very latest science but is also filled with drama – making this a series for both dino lovers and people who just want to be told a great story.” “Our human fascination with dinosaurs has remained steadfast, and we are excited to bring PBS audiences this reimagined perspective on these
dynamic creatures, combining engaging narratives, backed by the latest science,” said Sylvia Bugg, PBS Chief Programming Executive and General Manager, General Audience Programming. “As production on this series is in early stages, we look forward to sharing more over the coming year through firstlook previews and educational resources, giving audiences a deeper understanding of the dinosaurs' existence."
Andrew Cohen, Head of BBC Studios Science Unit said: “There is no bigger science series than WALKING WITH DINOSAURS and we are incredibly excited to be bringing this much-loved brand to a whole new generation of audiences around the world. It’s the ultimate dinosaur show, where you’ll be hiding behind the sofa one moment and having your mind blown the next. The prehistoric world meets premium documentary production, like never before.”

In the series ELINOR WONDERS WHY, observant Elinor and her friends are curious about how the world works, learning basic scientific skills to answer their own questions about science, nature, and life in general. Here are some great ways to explore nature with your preschooler.
1
Make it a habit to go outside. Whether observing how ants cooperate to build nests or how leaves and feathers each fall softly, Elinor is always outside observing nature. Young children not only love the outdoors but also thrive on routine, so by making outdoor play a regular part of your daily habits, they’ll learn to eagerly anticipate the exploration time.
2
Ask questions and encourage questions. In the eyes of a young child, everything is new and exciting, so asking gentle questions can not only lead to creativity breakthroughs but can also cause them to ponder new questions. And, after all, sometimes the simplest questions can lead to the most profound answers and are wonderful learning opportunities for your children.
3
Draw in a nature journal. For children, the world is full of wonder and designed to be explored — ideally hands-on. You don’t need to venture far: even the backyard, neighborhood sidewalk, or local park is fertile ground for a young imagination.
4
Use field guides to help identify and learn about what you discover. While observing butterflies and caterpillars, Elinor and her friends realize they’ve

never seen a baby butterfly – and eventually learn that caterpillars themselves are baby butterflies! If your children seem interested in a certain aspect of nature, you can create a field guide together. Identify all the specimens you come into contact with and go into detail about their parts.
5
Get a closer look at features on plants, natural objects, and animals. It can be easy to let nature pass you by and not notice the intricate details. Go on a nature walk with your kids, like in Elinor’s Nature Adventure game, and encourage your children to take careful note of what they see.
6
Dig deeper. Can’t remember why leaves are green? Don’t worry if you don’t have the answer. While it is important to be helpful and responsive, it’s not necessary to be an encyclopedia. The most important thing is encouraging further questioning.

My name is Sarah Barber. I recently moved back to the Milwaukee area after a 30-year absence to be closer to family and rediscover my childhood home and all the area has to offer. One of the things I added to my life was becoming a Milwaukee PBS donor. I was always a watcher of public television and appreciated the diversity of programming, from current news, to, documentaries, sciencebased topics, and historical pieces. I found myself often tuning in for intellectually stimulating content. I appreciate the independence of public media and how it can be specific to the local community in addition to giving us a glimpse of worlds we will never see in person. It provides a free platform to engage in lifelong learning and I decided it was worthy of my financial support.
I really get use of PBS Passport, getting to watch my favorite shows at my convenience. The historical dramas of MASTERPIECE Theater keep me engaged. It is so relaxing after a long day to lose myself in another time and place for an hour or two. During a recent trip to London, I recalled information learned from LUCY WORSELY’S ROYAL MYTHS AND SECRETS while seeing The Tower of London and Kensington Palace. It really enhanced my trip to know the back story of these iconic places when viewing them in person. FINDING YOUR ROOTS is one of the shows I love! I eagerly await to see who Dr. Henry Louis Gates is going to feature when a new season is announced.
Milwaukee PBS has a great mix of the “familiar, tried and true” along with introducing us to what could become new favorites.

How far would you go for the trip of a lifetime? And what would you sacrifice for adventure? The documentary PASSAGE explores these questions through the experiences of two adventurers. The film follows Arkansan Adam Riley and Canadian Matty Clarke as they attempt to cross the Northwest Passage, a 2,200-mile sea route over the top of Canada, aboard handmade rowboats. The film documents their story, a harrowing example of perseverance in the face of insurmountable odds.
