Humanistas conquer LitMus 2019

The Kingdom of Ascia overjoyed as they conquered other kingdoms in the SHS Literary Musical competition, on the third day of the University Week 2019, at the University Gymnasium, September 11.

“We had so little amount of time to prepare for all the events, however it was the passion and dedication of students and teachers that really made this championship possible”, said Ms. Ernestine Lavilla, head adviser of Ascia.

Ascia bagged the championships in the Impromptu Speaking Declamation Filipino, and MTV live.

Trisha Cabanillas represented Ascia in Impromptu Speaking, and Kit Martin de Paula in Filipino Declamation.

“The secret for declamation is always in the eye. Another secret is to enjoy and feel the portrayals of characters, and understand the flow of story as if you are the teller of the story”, Kit Martin de Paula of Ascia, Filipino Declamation Champion, said after being asked on what are

his preparations for the competition. Ascia garnered second place in Oration represented

by Noah Cambal and English Declamation represented by Thea Angela Ebon.

They also grabbed third place in Vocal Solo Pop and fourth in Biglaang Pananalita and Hiphop.

The Kingdom of Mons followed after Ascia, posting over-all first runner-up.

Ignis and Coronam placed second and third runners-up respectively.

As the skies turn orange, the moment everyone has been waiting for arrives. The stage is ready, the microphone is waiting, and the spotlight is yours. All you have to do is sing your heart out and live for the moment. As part of the celebrations for University Week 2019, the UNO-R Supreme Student Government organizes the Open Mic — an opportunity for the aspiring musicians, singers and instrumentalists alike, to showcase their talents.

From the calmest melodies to the most energetic notes, everybody is given a chance to shine. Everyone is given a time to pause, relax, and enjoy the beautiful songs. Near the stage is an alleyway of barbecues where one can enjoy the music while eating. It is the perfect place to be with your family and friends.

With a variety of genres from pop to R&B, the Open Mic is a great scene to be at this U-Week.

lit crumbs A Long Table A long table is used for a lot of things, It, for one, fits a variety of belongings; It serves a plentitude, It serves with gratitude.

The table itself is not special, Though the meals it serves are often phenomenal; But what and why makes them special?

What and why is this table so valuable?

Food it serves and the

things it hosts are trivial, For the people who sit around it are the true spectacle.

A meal and long chats, A funny discussion among fellow labrats, A warm hearth for cold souls, It is the glue that makes individuals whole.

All tables fulfill their niches, But it’s the cliques around them that creates unforgettable assemblages.

Take the microphone and grab the chance. Show the world what you can do. Show other people what you can be. Even just for a moment, let everyone hear you golden voice. The spotlight is yours.

“We came up with activities of SCAPelikula and SCAPeryahan through the objective of increasing our fund-raising to be able to help more people in our outreach. ”

“In LitMus, gusto ko ma-witness naman ang more on acting nga mga contests. Let’s say mga plays or impersonations from characters of broadway musicals such as Hamilton, Les Miserables, and such.
