There are one, two, and three-meal-per day options. Each meal swipe must be used by the end of each term. Once enrolled in a Meal Plan Program, the student’s account will be billed each term until the University receives written notification to cancel or change the plan or the student stops attending. For snacks or extra meals, Racer Bucks can be added to any Student ID Card or Meal Plan. One Racer Buck is equivalent to $1.00. Racer Bucks can be added with cash, check, or credit card at any of the Food Service locations or by calling the Food Court at (419) 998-3129. MYUNOH PORTAL
MYUNOH PORTAL
UNOH provides students access to several online services that enhance communication from application through graduation. Most notable are Racers Online, email, OneDrive, and the MyUNOH portal (http://my.unoh.edu). Most of these services may be used immediately upon acceptance as a student to the University.
Students may have access to the MyUNOH Portal on and off campus 24-hours a day. A valid UNOH email address and password are required. Students may change or reset their passwords by visiting http://support.unoh.edu/password/.
The MyUNOH Portal provides access to schedules, grades, unofficial transcripts, online payments, email, Racers Online, Racer Alerts, program course requirements, financial aid award information, documents and forms, student activities calendar, and access to many other student resources and campus offices.
MICROSOFT OFFICE 365
Microsoft offers students the FREE use of Office 365. What this means is that current UNOH students can install Office 365 onto their personal devices, such as laptop computers, and use the software for free. The free Office 365 program includes licenses for up to 5 installations of the Office 365 software. This includes Windows and Mac versions for PCs and laptops. Please visit http://support. unoh.edu/office365/ for details on how to take advantage of this free software which is a significant savings over purchasing Microsoft Office in the retail markets.
CAMPUS WI-FI
The University provides wireless Internet access (Wi-Fi) in all academic buildings as well as several common areas and parking lots for enrolled students. Wireless access is available throughout the Student Commons, including the Library and Food Court, the Racers Café, Racers Station, the College of Applied Technologies’ shop areas, and the student lounge and gymnasium within the 200 Building. Please check the campus map on https://www.unoh.edu/map/ for Wi-Fi locations and visit https://support.unoh. edu/wifi/ for instructions on how to connect.
PROXY ACCESS
UNOH students can provide trusted people, such as parents, guardians, spouses, or other family members, access to some of their private student information. Accessible areas can include grades, billing, and making payments on behalf of the student. The student can add, change, or remove proxy permissions at any time. More information about granting proxy access can be found at https://support.unoh.edu/articles/setup-proxy-access/.
LIBRARY
DR. CHERYL A MUELLER LIBRARY
With 11,000+ print material, 400,000+ e-books, 50,000+ streaming videos, and full-text access to more than 98,000 magazines, journals, and trade publications, the Dr. Mueller Library, located in the 13000 building, has resources for every paper and project. As an OhioLINK member, UNOH students have access to more than 50 million library items statewide. Dedicated group and silent study areas can accommodate the study needs of every student. Plenty of computers are available should students wish to work in the Library, but laptops are available for check-out should students wish to work remotely. Included in the Library’s collection are the Tool Shed and Recreational collections, where students can check out impact wrenches, jack and jack stands, VR goggles, and more.
COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS
The computer specifications below define a basic laptop or desktop computer that can successfully run Microsoft Office and access all UNOH websites. If you are enrolled in a program that requires a more powerful class of computer (Digital Multimedia, Digital Design, Video Processing, etc.), please consult with your instructor before making your purchase.

FINANCIAL AID
The Financial Aid Department is here to help ensure that every student obtains information about financial aid and receives assistance with the financial aid process.
We encourage you to contact our office with any questions you may have so that we may assist you in understanding how to cover your costs.
Financial Aid opportunities are available, and the Financial Aid staff is ready to assist you! By now you should have completed the 2026/2027 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). If you have not submitted this, please complete the 2026/2027 FAFSA at https://studentaid.gov. The Financial Aid Office will receive your submitted FAFSA within 5 business days.
You may be selected for verification which will require additional documentation. Your financial aid offer process will not begin if you are selected for verification until the financial aid office receives all requested documentation from you and your parents if you are a dependent student. Students are notified of verification selection by both UNOH email and letter, and all required documentation can be accessed on your “To Do List” on your Financial Aid Dashboard at my.unoh.edu. It is recommended to have documents submitted as soon as possible, preferably within two to three weeks of notification to allow for prompt processing.
Financial Aid Offers will be provided approximately three weeks after the FAFSA is submitted and all verification requirements are complete, if applicable. You will receive a UNOH email notification of your Financial Aid Offer and an Offer Brochure in the mail. Your notifications will direct you to your Financial Aid Dashboard to view your Offer.
Review your Offer Notification to understand what aid you have available and determine what your expected costs will be. Costs may not be limited to tuition and housing. Your costs could include: tuition, fees, housing, books, food, or other personal expenses. Please use the “Calculate Essential Costs” tool provided on your offer to aid in understanding your financial need.
To access your Financial Aid Dashboard to view your Financial Aid status, your To Do List, and your Financial Aid Offer, please complete the following:
· Go to my.unoh.edu and sign in. If you do not know your password, go to support.unoh.edu to reset it.
· Click on “Financial Aid” under the “Student Self Service Menu”.
· Click on “Financial Aid Dashboard”.
All students will be provided a Federal Direct Student Loan offer on their Financial Aid notification as students qualify for these funds by completing the FAFSA. Students are not required to use these funds; however, if you choose to use the offered loan you will need to complete three additional processes at https://studentaid.gov:
· Complete the Master Promissory Note for the Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan.
· Complete Entrance Counseling.
· Complete the Annual Student Loan Acknowledgement.
If your Federal Direct Student Loan offer in addition to any other aid or financial arrangement is insufficient to assist with your needs, you may apply for additional loans.
· Parents of dependent students can apply for a Federal PLUS loan.
· Students can apply for a Private loan with a cosigner via any lender of choice if eligible.
· Anyone other than the student can apply for a Parent Private loan via any lender of choice if eligible.
All loan information, as well as links and information to apply can be found on the Financial Aid Loan Page at www.unoh.edu.

Student accounts are billed 2-4 weeks prior to each term, and emails are sent to each billed student’s UNOH email address. Invoices are NOT mailed. Payment plans and fees are due on or before the first day of each term. Students can access their balance due through the Portal website at https://my.unoh.edu.
Parents can access billing information in two ways. First, parents can login to the portal using the student username and password, or they can be granted Proxy Access. ENSURING SUCCESS AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL
STUDENTS OFTEN HAVE UNREALISTIC VIEWS OF THE CAPACITY TO SUCCEED WITHOUT ASSISTANCE AND ACCOMMODATIONS ONCE THEY LEAVE HIGH SCHOOL.
THE FOLLOWING SUGGESTIONS CAN HELP THE STUDENT GET OFF TO A GOOD START AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL:
DON’T HIDE; SEEK ASSISTANCE EARLY
• Find out what accommodations you will have access to
• Be able to describe your disability and why you need accommodations to enhance your learning
• Talk to your instructors either on break or after class
• Take a reduced load of General Education classes if necessary, but understand that it may take you longer to graduate
• Set realistic goals with the help of a Student Success Coach
REQUEST ACCOMMODATIONS
• C-Pen Reader Pens
• Recorded lectures (with permission)
• Notetaker
• Alternative testing: extra time, tests read, separate testing location
• Calculator
• Word Processor
• Preferential seating
USE STUDY TECHNIQUES
• Go to every class, sit in front
• Look over syllabus on day one and start prepping for long term assignments
• Make a list of questions before class
• See the instructor if you miss notes or have questions
• Use calendars for organization - especially with due dates!
• Study with a tutor or friend
If the student has been actively taught self-knowledge/self-advocacy skills during his or her high school years, he/she will be much more likely to succeed during his/her collegiate experience.
HAZING PREVENTION & AWARENESS
HISTORY:
In July 2021, the Ohio State Senate passed Senate Bill 126, also known as “Collin’s Law”, in response to tragedies related to hazing on college campuses in the state of Ohio. Senate Bill 126 became effective on October 7, 2021. In December 2024, President Joe Biden signed the “Stop Campus Hazing Act” which further requires all institutions of Higher Education to track and report hazing incidents to campus security or local law enforcement.
WHAT THIS MEANS:
The University of Northwestern Ohio is required, as an institution of Higher Education in Ohio, to comply with Collin’s Law and the Stop Campus Hazing Act. While UNOH has had anti-hazing policies in place for many years, these policies and procedures have been revised to match the requirements of Senate Bill 12 and the Stop Campus Hazing Act.
Compliance includes that prevention training must be provided to students, employees, and volunteers who participate in, advise, or coach an organization recognized by or operating under the sanction of an institution and who have direct contact with students. “Student organization” includes but is not limited to clubs, organizations, national honor societies, athletic teams, and clubs or intramural sports.
WHEN WILL TRAINING HAPPEN:
For new, incoming students, Vector Solutions training will be available approximately 6 weeks before classes begin in a particular term, or once a student is registered for classes. All incoming students must complete the training module before their first day of classes.
For employees, training will be offered after their first day of employment to be completed within 30 days.
Student organizations and Athletic staff will be responsible for communicating the training requirements to all volunteers (local and national advisors, community liaisons, etc.) who work with the student organization. Individuals must complete training prior to volunteering with the organization.
Please note, students must complete the Anti-Hazing training prior to joining, participating, or continuing to participate in any student organization. Student organizations are required to verify that their members, or potential members, have completed the required training.
POLICY:
UNOH’s Anti-Hazing Prevention & Awareness Policy can be found in the Student Handbook and online.
HAZING VIOLATIONS REPORT:
The University of Northwestern Ohio is dedicated to promoting a safe and healthy campus environment for its students, faculty, staff, and visitors. It is also committed to fostering respect for the dignity and rights of all its community members. The University will not tolerate hazing activities by any individuals, groups, teams, or recognized student organizations.
In addition to the University policy, state and federal laws require universities to report violations of the University’s hazing policy for the last five years. The Campus Hazing Transparency Report will be updated twice a year, every year.
Questions or concerns may be directed to the Student Success Department by calling 419-998-8404 or emailing studentsuccess@unoh.edu.

RACER ALERTS & UNIVERSITY DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS
RACER ALERTS
Racer Alerts are designed to instantly reach cell phones and other mobile devices when an urgent campus situation needs to be communicated. This could be when severe weather, such as a snow storm or tornado, affects classes or any situation when campus may close. Racer Alerts will send out a text message to all of the registered phone numbers or email addresses in the system.
Students are auto-registered with their UNOH email address and the moble number on file in the Registrar’s office. Each student can register up to two phone numbers or email addresses. When you receive a message, save the number in your phone as UNOH Racer Alerts so you’ll know when the University is contacting you.
You will only receive campus closing information and alerts issued by UNOH and tornado warnings for Allen County. You may also opt in to receive weather advisories such as thunderstorm warnings. You can update your information and add other phone numbers or email addresses (such as parent/guardian) through the MyUNOH portal at http://my.unoh.edu
