SPRING ADVISING & ENROLLMENT SCHEDULE ADVISING APPOINTMENTS ON MAVTRACK.

PREPARE TO ENROLL ACADEMIC ADVISING

The start of November means it’s time for students to prepare for the spring semester. Have a conversation with your student to check in on their plans for meeting with their advisor and enrolling in classes. Is your student interested in taking additional credits during the 3-Week January Session before the spring semester begins? Learn more about this unique opportunity to catch up or finish faster on the next page.

Students work directly with an advisor from their program of study to determine which courses they should enroll in to meet the program requirements. Advisors help students stay on track for graduation and reach their goals. Students can schedule advising appointments by logging into MavTRACK.

ENROLLMENT DATES Some students can take advantage of early enrollment opportunities. Point your student to their MavLINK account to find their exact enrollment date and time. All students can register for their Spring 2022 classes when open enrollment begins on Monday, November 8.

GETTING READY Remind your student to complete the following tasks as their enrollment date approaches. • Check and clear any enrollment holds listed in MavLINK • Review available course modalities and choose the best fit • Use the class search page to browse course offerings

THREE-WEEK JANUARY SESSION UNO is implementing a new Three-Week January Session to be held January 3-21, 2022. UNO’s Three-Week January Session courses are not required but give students the opportunity to catch-up, get ahead, or take enrichment courses outside of their degree. While some courses focus on experiential learning, most will be taught online and at an accelerated pace—no need to worry about commuting to campus in a Nebraska winter! Your student can view Three-Week January Session courses online.

The regular Spring 2022 semester will begin on January 24.

1. Your course will be at an accelerated pace. Contact the course instructor for more information on what that means for you.

View available courses for the Three-Week January Session. Remember to select “Three-Week” from the session list.

2. Attendance and participation will be critical to your success as there are limited class meetings. Make sure you have the time to commit to the entire three-week session. 3. Your spring financial aid may be used for a January session . 4. Three-Week January Session courses will fill up quickly or may be canceled due to low enrollment, so you should enroll early.
