WHAT IS RENEWAL?
Housing Renewal is the annual opportunity for current UNM Housing residents to renew their housing contracts for the following academic year. Renewing residents receive housing/ LLC selection benefits and incentives before new residents.
As space is extremely limited, Housing Renewal is critical to ensure that current Resident Lobos have an on-campus housing assignment for the coming Fall semester.
With the $50 application fee waived, this is your chance to: move into a new pod or apartment style hall, live at Lobo Rainforest, move in with your friends, or join an LLC!

3 Steps of Housing Renewal
1. REGISTER
The first step is to complete the Housing Renewal registration. Head to your Residence Dashboard, select a new option in SRC Apartments, Redondo Village Apartments, Lobo Rainforest, Laguna DeVargas, Pet Permitted, or LLC— or let us know you’re returning, but don’t have a preference.

During the Roommate Match period, you will log into your Residence Dashboard and select a roommate(s). If you know who you want to room with, check out Choosing a Roommate on page 10 for details. If you don’t know who you want to live with, complete the match process to find a new friend! The Roommate Match process is available until you select a room. Prior to Room Selection, you will receive an email with a time slot for selecting. The selection times determined by when your finished Housing Renewal registration was submitted. The earlier you apply, the more options you will have to choose from. Select your room early during your assigned time slot to have the best chance of getting what you want.

Registration Options
All of the steps of Housing Renewal are done through your Residence Dashboard, including the first step; registration. On your registration form, you will be asked to select 1 of 4 registration options that best will suit your plans for 2026-2027. The options are listed below and will look the same on the Residence Dashboard as you complete the Housing Renewal contract.
Option 1:
I want to select a room in Main Campus Apartments or Pods. (SRC Apts, RVA Apts, or Laguna DeVargas)
Option 2:
I want to live at Lobo Rainforest.
Option 3:
I want to participate in a Living Learning Community.
Option 4:
I want to live in a Pet Permitted Apartment (SRC building C,D & E).
Option 1
I WANT TO SELECT A ROOM IN MAIN CAMPUS APARTMENTS OR PODS
Option 1 is for you if:
• You want to live on main campus next year with UNM Housing (SRC Apts, RVA Apts, Laguna DeVargas).
Option 1 is NOT the right fit if:
• Do not want to live on main campus next year with UNM Housing.
• You want to join a Living Learning Community.
• You want to move to Lobo Rainforest.
• Want to live in a Pet Permitted Apartment.
Option 2
I WANT TO LIVE IN LOBO RAINFOREST
Option 2 is for you if:
• You already live at Lobo Rainforest and want to stay in your current room.
• You want to move to a different room at Lobo Rainforest.
• If you want to move from Main Campus to Lobo Rainforest.
Option 2 is NOT the right fit if:
• You want to live in an LLC.
• You want to live on main campus.
Option 3
I WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN A LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITY. (SEE PG 11 FOR AVAILABLE LLCS)
Option 3 is for you if:
• You want to join an LLC!
• You are already a member and want to continue with your LLC.
Option 3 is NOT the right fit if:
• You do not want to join an LLC.
• You want to live at Lobo Rainforest.
Option 4
I WANT TO LIVE IN A PET PERMITTED APARTMENT (SRC BUILDING C ,D & E)
Option 4 is for you if:
• You are comfortable living in an apartment with pets.
• You want to bring a pet to campus (pets must be registered and pay an additional fee).
Option 4 is NOT the right fit if:
• Want to live in an LLC.
• You want to live in Lobo Rainforest.
• You are allergic to any animals.

UNM Housing apartments are now exclusively reserved for our upperclassmen (sophomores+). The apartment experience is perfected suited to Resident Lobos who are ready for a more mature and independent lifestyle.
Renewal Rallies
Renewal Rallies are informal in-person info sessions and giveaways where you can have all your questions about Housing Renewal answered by the team of RLSH Ambassadors. Resident Lobos are welcome to any rally.
