UNLV DIVISION OF CHORAL STUDIES

JOSEPH SVENDSEN, DIRECTOR / STEPHANIE COUNCIL, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

The UNLV Division of Choral Studies offers four ensembles: University Chorale, UNLV Singers, Chamber Consort, and, through a collaborative partnership, students have the option to enroll in the Las Vegas Master Singers for academic credit. The Division of Choral Studies also sponsors a student chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, Scarlet Tones, the university’s contemporary a cappella ensemble, and Rebel Rhapsody, a student-led show choir club. Students who participate in the division’s ensembles pursue careers in music performance, music education, composition, musicology, music technology, music business, and conducting. Its alumni have made significant contributions, locally, nationally, and internationally, to the choral and vocal arts.
