Why the University of Memphis? We’ve been around since 1912, meaning we have lots of tradition. Our campus reflects this. From the hallowed halls of Scates and the tall shadow of Wilder Tower to our brand new University Center and our impressive Living Learning Residence Complex, our history is evident everywhere you look.
Plus our faculty is amazing. They are Emmy, Grammy and Peabody award winners. They are acclaimed researchers, entrepreneurs, novelists, musicians and performers. Twenty-six of them hold distinguished Chairs of Excellence. We have several nationally ranked programs and five Centers of Excellence. We offer more than 250 areas of study, 17 undergraduate degrees, 55 master’s degrees and 23 doctoral degrees. Our honors program is the largest in the state.
