Alma Mater Leopoliensis. History of the Lviv humanities 1661─1946
In its history, the University of Lviv was the most important scientific facility in the region, in certain periods radiating to all of Europe. In the monography covering three volumes, consisting of problem-focused articles in the area of broadly understood humanities, the significance of the University of Lviv is described as a scientific & research, educational, culture-building and nation-building institution through the prism of distinguished humanists, including historians, philologists, philosophers and theologists. The main directions of development within a given field are characterized, covering issues raised and applied research methods, as well as scientific & educational achievements of the Lviv academic environment starting from establishment of the school until 1946. The Lviv humanities are presented in a comprehensive way following chronological order which allows tracing of the evolutionary nature of individual fields over the centuries.
