G&G ON OUR STUDENTS’ WORK: We’re amazed! They’re very, very proficient – artists ready for gallery showing.

G&G ON THE SCHOOL OF ART: It’s a great school and unbelievable space. We love the architecture. I think the students are all spoiled brats compared with us and our scruffy studios when we were baby artists!

G&G’S ADVICE FOR STUDENTS: When you get out of bed, sit on the edge of the bed, keep your eyes closed and don’t stand up, don’t open your eyes, until you’ve decided ‘what do I want to say to the world today?’

by Turner Prize-winning artists Gilbert & George as part of the 250th anniversary of the Royal Academy of Arts.

The iconic duo, who create art together as one artist, have won international acclaim and awards as part of a creative partnership spanning 50-plus years.
