Our Mission

The University of St. Francis Counseling & Wellness Center promotes the holistic health and development of students through the delivery of a variety of services, resources and programs. We strive to foster healthy decision-making, to empower students to be active partners in their own health care and to assist them in achieving their life goals.

COUNSELING

The Counseling Office offers services led by a licensed clinical professional therapist for personal issues that may interfere with the student’s ability to meet his or her responsibilities. If a specialist is needed, the Counseling Office will refer individuals to providers outside the university. There is no fee for services provided to students. A counselor is also available for consultation or to give presentations on mental health topics if needed.

HEALTH RECORDS

The Wellness Office staff assists University of St. Francis students with the electronic submission of their health records. Questions regarding emails or texts received regarding health records, as well as details about what is required for students attending a four-year institution, can be directed to the staff in this office.

Health Record Submission

• Take a photo with your phone of the document you need to submit

• Log in to the MyUSF portal

• Type Health and Medical Records in the search bar in the portal

• To submit your documents, tap “click here”

• Choose file, select your document, and upload

WELLNESS

The university’s registered nurse provides immediate care for minor health problems, basic first aid, emergency assessment and administration of required immunizations for compliance. Referrals may be made to appropriate medical personnel and/or community agencies as needed or requested.

Proof of Immunization is required from all students born after 1956 who are registered for six or more credit hours, according to Illinois state law. Any student not in compliance will be denied registration, housing and participation in athletic events. It is recommended that all students, especially those in residence halls, obtain the meningitis vaccine prior to the start of school.

Student health insurance is available through the university for all traditional students and student athletes registered for 12 or more credit hours.
